This Shamrock shake

I had never heard of these until Disboards... must be a regional thing?

So it's a McDonald's shake, it's green, evidently takes minty and has a cherry on top? Does that about sum it up?

Enjoy!

Anyone know how long McD will sell them for?
I stopped by my local McD's this afternoon, figuring today would be the last day they'd be on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they were going to be around until the end of the month (at least on Long Island).

Unfortunately, they had run out of Shamrock mix, so I wasn't able to get my fix today. So, I guess I know where I'll be lunching tomorrow, LOL.

I've heard of the Shamrock shake, I've just never had one before.

And by the sounds of the recipe that someone posted, it's a mint shake. Sounds really yummy. Is it just minty or is it mint choc/chip? Just asking because I STUPIDLY gave up chocolate for Lent!!! :scared1:

I should have just given up dieting like I normally do. LOL

It is just minty no chocolate chips in it.

I love the addition of the whipped cream on top. At first I thought it was to frou-frou for me but I love it.

Really? I think they are National during spring. They have EggNog shakes near Christmas too. :thumbsup2

I don't think there is any dairy in it. They call it a shake not a milkshake for a reason.

I've had two.

YUM

I actually bought my team each one for a treat this week.

I think it is a regional thing. I was talking to my nephew in upstate New York a few weeks ago and he was having one. I went on a mission to find one last weekend and not one of the McDonald's here in South Carolina were selling them.:confused3 I haven't had one in years:sad:

I have never had a Shamrock Shake - I don't think I would like that much mint. But I may have to try one just to say I did. Now...a banana pudding milkshake from Chick-Fil-A....YUM!!

Thanks to this thread, I had to pick up some chocolate chip mint ice cream to make milkshakes with tonight! The good stuff was even on sale!
:thumbsup2

They had them slightly over the border here in NC but now that you mentioned it, when I tried to get one a little outside of Columbia a week ago, I was told they were "out of them". Guess that was a euphemism for not having them in the first place!

Better luck next year.....
