How nice he made the wedding about himself instead of the bride and groom.

This was my thought too, sort of. I thought it was really kind of weird for the priest to give a performance that drew attention to himself when he was supposed to be celebrating a marriage. But I think it had to have been planned by someone associated with the wedding party. Perhaps the brides's mom knew he had a great voice and asked him to do this. I can't imagine a priest just doing this on his own without urging. I do think it was not appropriate.

I thought it was beautiful. I'm sure he is well known in his area and they knew he would sing. I don't think he made it about himself at all - it was a beautiful (IMO) tribute to the couple and made their day more special.

I would have loved it if the priest at my wedding had done something like this,
instead he totally stopped the ceremony because my elderly aunt got there late (not her fault) and embarrassed her and made everyone uncomfortable.

I think we need more people like this wonderful singing priest in the world

I've been at plenty of weddings where someone close to the couple sings a song during the service. If he knows them well, what's the difference?
I thought it was great..and seems like the bride and groom loved it, too.

He told them he was going to sing and he is known for singing at weddings. It wasn't about getting attention for himself.

For those of you who think this has anything to do with religion need to get a grip.

I agree on all accounts. We have known our priest for over 10 years. He always tries to make weddings and sacramental moments particularly special to that couple or person in his homilies. And is well known and liked for that. I don't see the difference.

I agree with you. And, it's NOT my speakers or my computer. Plenty of other youtube music recordings sound perfectly fine.

Yes, the audio was terrible. Whether it sounded that bad in the church or not we'll never know.

As a cynic of religion it did not make me cry, nor did it make me cry about being cynical of marriage, but I'm not cynical of that.

I'm cynical that the person who shovels our neighborhood is the hoa's presidents brother, and that's why he gets paid but it doesn't get done. That....I do cry about.
