This morning found an e-mail asking for 2000 BP's!

A women in a community concert band that I was once part of, had her identity stolen by hackers into her yahoo account. She was asking me to send 2,000 pounds to Britain to help her out of an emergency! Luckily the fraud was detected and the band executive sent me the notice that it was a scam.

I get emails like that weekly. Never from anyone I know. But, yup, weekly. DELETE. PERIOD.

This happened to a friend of my on facebook. They chatted with me about their emergency. It was quite illogical.

I had my hotmail acct hacked recently and in my sent folder there were a few of those types of emails. They sent them to at least 100 people Luckily my email acct didn't have any personal contacts in it so I didn't know any of the people the hackers sent the emails to.


Shmily, I can't believe your aunt fell for that scam, I really thought everyone knew not to ever send money to anyone asking in an email.

I get emails weekly from very wealthy Londoners who heard of my amazing realtor capabilities and need me to find them a 7 mil house, asap. They are willing to pre-pay my fee, and everything. I just have to send them alllllll my information.......

Your aunt and my mom must be related somehow, because my mom falls for that stuff too. She fell for one of those "Please Verify Your Account Information" emails from "Paypal" - - took me weeks to clean it up. ARGH!!
