Please tell me I'm wrong....

I am currently perusing my local Target which NEVER has a shortage of Disney gift cards. They are nowhere to be found!! I don't need any now, but I will when the tax refund comes in. There is no space for them on the displays and they are gone from both the entertainment area and the checkout lanes....

....I'm not liking this at all:(

I just purchased 66 $50 cards at my local Target today and there were still plenty on the rack when I left.

I so hope not! I am planning a trip to the local target today. I will be sure to look for these as I too am planning on buying up at least $500 worth. (everything already paid for. these will be for in park purchases) Maybe the refund season is the reason why they are nowhere to be found. Everyone buys them up. :scratchin

I don't know. I am planning to go to my Target on Friday. I can let you know if I see any there. I bought a bunch that time that there was the 20% coupon (which didn't work for me on the gift cards) so I don't need anymore. I bought them anyways that day, so I am glad that I did stock up.

I have been buying them at my local Walgreens I can put any amount on them from $5 to $500 - no problems at all doing it there - I am going to continue buying them as I can for our trip in May :) Nice little savings account :)

Yes but buying at Walgreens doesn't give you the 5% off that Target does. That is why the poster is concerned about the lack of cards at Target.

Is there a benefit to Disney gift cards?:confused3
Buying them with your Target (for a 5% discount) is like getting an automatic discount on whatever you buy in the parks.

For instance, let's say that you booked a vacation that cost $5000. If you paid directly OOP, then the vacation cost you $5K but if you were to first purchase 100 $50 GCs using the Target REDCard 5% discount, then you end up only spending $4750 for those GCs. You saved $250 off the cost of your vacation.

I noticed that our Target now has a mix of older style Disney cards and some in newer packaging with less plastic. Maybe your Target is waiting for new ones to arrive.

Our Target is undergoing renovations. When I was last there, they did have Disney gift cards but not much else. I was in the market for restaurant gcs. I hope the gcs return when the renovations are complete.

Did you try the one on 28th street?

No, Marketplace...but I found some at the registers today so maybe they were just moving them. Phew! I need another $1500-$2000 more and I didn't want to find out Target stopped selling them:)

...I feel better now;)

I just bought some on Target's website. They only allow you to buy 3 at a time so you would have to do multiple transactions. The 5% off redcard worked. I also tried shopping using shopathome. They have a 4% cash back on purchases made at Target, so I'm hoping that will also work. I have used shopathome before and did get the rebate, it just takes several months before you get it.
