This makes me sick......

Nice saying (but following it would do serious violence to my tag). It also doesn't work IRL. I've just finished completing annual performance reviews for my team at work. If I attempted to apply this adage, I would have a difficult time reviewing specific performance areas that do not meet expectations or even fall well below expectations.

I also would not be able to address specific unacceptable/unprofessional behavior issues that arise at work or home.

Nice adage... just not really practical in every situation.

WOOO WOO WOOO - Gotta say something here.

There is such a thing as common sense. Obviously, the adage doesn't ALWAYS apply. But we're talking about a specific situation here. One where a man made a stupid remark, that he wasn't required by his job to make, in a public manner, about something that was completely unnecesary, directed to a certain group of people, and will do noone any good.

Not giving someone kind words on their job performance directly to that individual and noone else, isn't quite the same thing.

Every day we are bombarded with stupid remarks, made in a public manner about things that are completely unnecessary that will do no one any good. So, in your opinion, one more was added to the overflowing pot. So what... this is quite innocuous compared to some real hate speech that is spewed daily.

I must be completely bored today; managed to have nearly 25% of the posts on this thread. :rolleyes1

At home too? Your family doesn't mind an annual performance report? ;)
(crossing my fingers and hoping T_M realizes I am kidding!)

:lmao: This was a good one, eclectics! (Got to remember to share this at dinner tonight. Hopefully the family will think it's as funny as I do. Usually their performance appraisal of my "humor" is to :rolleyes2 )

Her Brokeback character was a very decent person--not like the Slutty McTrashypants she played on DC.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We may have to use that on the Gray's Anatomy thread now.

McDreamy--Mchotty (or whatever they call him) and Meredith--Slutty Mc Trashypants. :lmao:

I love it!!!

i neither condone nor condemn what was said in the press release, but I can understand what ig going on. Being an actor, I was once given an opportunity to audition for a politcal commercial (someone running for office) and I turned it down because after researching the candidate, I found that I had vastly different views than what was on his platform. I didn't want to be in a commercial where I was basically "endorsing" his views by saying that I support him - the first thing that came to mind was "what will the people at my church think when they see this", IF for some reason I became a big celebrity, young people at my church may look up to (or idolize) me and my church may think that my views were not condusive to the views in the church. So, they wouldn't want people to be looking up to me because of that. I can't comment on the timing of the statement (this may have been the straw that broke the camel's Brokeback").
