The thing is, you're only going to see that 'over the edge' view from the front car. Everyone else on the train will just be confused and wonder why they are stopping, since there is no broken track to signal the problem.

Oh my gosh, my stomach just jumped up into my throat! My sister and I were in the front last trip and this would have absolutely terrified me. Are they putting the tracks back when they're done? Otherwise no more front rides for me.

I would assume they are putting the broken track back on since it's a very cool part of the ride's story.
