This is your 24th Anniversary? But you're so young!~A 5/12 TR!*PTR link pg 49, 9/14!*

I'm very often one of those people that are not in the pool. Don't get me wrong, I Loooove water and being in a pool but i just CANNOT take the cold  I need a real nice temperature in a pool to be able to enjoy it - even when it's sweltering hot out.

The cake in your hotel room looks very nice and wow, that WAS a really sweet thing for them to do!! The slipper from your DH was a nice touch too!! what a speical anniversary trip!!!

Haha, yeah, I don't like cold water either! SAB was actually a nice temp, refreshing since it was such a hot day, but not too cold either!

The cake was awesome, such a nice surprise! And the glass slipper was great too!

I'm joining in. Thanks to your handy dandy links I got caught up fast.
I am the same way about the pool. I am way to heave....especially my legs...even if I am skinny, I have freakishly huge legs and I always think everyone is looking at them and thinking something. There is no way to cover those up in a suit.

It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip. I think we might have overlapping dates in Nov. I am there from the 2nd to 14th, but will be on the Dream from the 4-8th.

Welcome! Glad you got caught up so quickly!

Haha, that's so funny, I don't think I ever look at people's legs! :rotfl: You're right though, that is hard to cover up! My main problem is my middle, which is hard to cover up when you're in a tight bathing suit, which clings to you even more when you are wet! Ah well, everyone is in Disney to have a good time, so we shouldn't really worry about it too much! :goodvibes

YES we will be in Disney at the same time, we will be there from the 9th to the 17th (unless I change the dates a little, add a day or drop a day or something, I tend to do that a lot! :rolleyes1) So jealous you will be on the Dream, sounds like so much fun!

LAME is right...I haven't watched the all-star game in a few years..for the reasont hat people I like generally are not in it.
Do you ever go on boston.com? they had a great article on Youk. on how he was one of the good guys and had a good work ethic, and with him leaving "the bad guys won"...I tried to find it, but of course, I can't...I'll keep looking....

I used to love the all star game, but now I'll flip back and forth between that and other things. I just want people who deserve to be there (LIKE SALTY!!!) to be there, and not half of the Yankees just because they're on the Yankees. :sad2:

I used to be obsessed with boston.com, but I stay away from it now, the Boston media drives me crazy with how critical of the Red Sox they are. I honestly don't understand how players can want to be there. I'd like to read that Youk article, though! :thumbsup2

Mmm them burger and fries look yummy!! I've never been to a Steak 'N Shake but it looks like I need to pay a visit on my next Disney trip

Lol I totally agree that I would much rather be in the pool then beside it on a hot day. I'm glad you enjoyed your pool time.

Aaw what a beautiful surprise from your sister and niece...I also thought it was from Brandon at first!

It is hard for hair/makeup to stay perfect in the humidity but it must have been nice to get done up and for it to last for a short period of time!

I'm so happy you had a great meal at CG...I love that place and yumm...that Cinderella slipper is to die for! :lmao:

omg the cake your sister got you is SO cute! That was really nice of her!

I'm already excited for California Grill but every time I read another great review I get even MORE excited for it! I want to say I can't wait to eat there, but it will be on our last night of our trip so...I think I can wait!

your glass slipper is so cute! :cloud9:

And yes, I have 100% given up on trying to keep my hair straight in Disney! Unless it's like, March, and there is NO humidity...it's not worth the time and effort!

All caught up with your new update! I am glad you enjoyed CA Grill. I have made ADRs every trip but end up getting lazy and canceling them! The Cinderella Slipper dessert looks amazing!

I know exactly what you mean about your makeup melting off @ Disney! I try so hard to look semi-cute for pictures, but my 11 a.m. I look like I just got out of the pool and my face has no color so I look like a vampire.

Haha, well, Steak N Shake is good, but there's no need to leave the Disney bubble just to go there!

The pool was awesome, I'm so glad we actually had time to enjoy it! Wasn't the cake adorable? :thumbsup2

Haha, yeah, my hair and makeup looked pretty nice for about 30 minutes! As soon as I started walking through Epcot though, forget it!

I LOVE Cali Grill! I can't wait to eat there again!

Isn't it such a cute cake? It was such a nice surprise!

Don't you hate when you schedule an ADR that you're really looking forward to at the end of your trip? Ugh that drives me crazy! You're going to love Cali Grill!

I can keep my hair pretty straight in November, but in May or September/October, forget it! I just don't see the point if I'm going to be putting it up anyway...I just wanted to make some attempt to look nice for Cali Grill! Oh well! :confused3

Oh, I hope you keep one of your Cali Grill ADR's someday, it is SO good! :yay:

Haha, yeah, it's hard to keep makeup on in Disney when it's a billion degrees out and 100% humidity! I wonder if there is any makeup that actually stays on in weather like that?

The One with the 2nd Surprise of the Day!

Sunday May 6, Part 4

Wishes was scheduled to start at 10, so we went outside to the viewing locations on top of the Contemporary at around 9:40. There were maybe 4 other people out there.

"Wouldn't it be nice if no one else came out here?" I said to Brandon. Haha, like that would happen! It would have actually been nice though, not having to stand next to a billion people watching Wishes for once!

I still couldn't get over the view from the Contemporary, it's like being inside the Magic Kingdom, just really high up!

P1020124.jpg

More and more people started to come out, but surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded, and soon, the soundtrack to Wishes was blasting through the speakers!

P1020134.jpg

P1020151.jpg

P1020149.jpg

P1020168.jpg

I actually didn't take many pictures of Wishes that night, because, well, they were NOT coming out very good. :confused3 It's ok though, by now I have so many pictures of Wishes that I kind of like to just enjoy it not looking at my camera every 5 seconds!

So what did I think of watching Wishes from the roof of the Contemporary? Well, it was different. I liked the view of the Magic Kingdom from up there, but I didn't really like the angle you saw the fireworks from, they were so far off to the side, they were almost over Space Mountain, and not the castle! I'm glad we did it, because I've always wanted to, but I definitely prefer being in the park!

Once Wishes was over, we went down to the monorail, hopped on, and monorailed over to the Magic Kingdom for magic hours! I love EMH nights at MK, they are always so much fun! I was excited, but I was kind of annoyed with myself, because I was SO tired at this point. I already felt like I was dragging, forcing myself to keep going, and we had just arrived at the entrance!

P1020170.jpg

I just ignored my tiredness though, and hoped I'd get a 2nd wind when we went inside!

We walked up Main Street and got some pictures taken in front of the castle. I wanted to take lots of pictures that night, because I thought we looked pretty nice, "dressed up" for the California Grill, but then I remember how frizzy and wavy my hair was, and how I had no makeup on, so I wasn't too happy with how the PP pics came out!

Photo0036FourBySix.jpg

Oh well! Better luck next time!

I love Adventureland, so we started there first. I figured we had the whole night, so we would start at one side and just work our way around, and Adventureland was calling me!

P1020187.jpg

Pirates of the Caribbean had a short wait time, so we got in line, and were quickly seated on our boat...and then the CM made 2 guys get in the row with us! Ummm...what? In all the years I've been going to Disney with Brandon, they have never put other people in the row with us. Brandon and I were SO annoyed, it was so awkward sharing a row in the boat with strangers. I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't.

I just kind of pouted through the whole ride, and when we got off, we were still annoyed and talking to each other about it. I don't want you to get the wrong idea, it's not that we don't like people, we do, especially Disney people, but it was really, really awkward. That's why I can't do single rider lines, I would feel so weird being crammed next to a stranger in a roller coaster! :rotfl: Although, I feel like in a single rider line, it wouldn't be as bad, because you expect to be next to a stranger! This was just a total shock!

We walked outside and were still kind of grumbling about it, and I looked up and saw someone I thought looked familiar, and she was looking at me the same way too. It was Alicia (amazingact21) from the DIS boards, with her husband and mom! I knew she was going to be in Disney at the same time as me, but I thought there would be NO way I'd run into here, and here she was, standing right in front of me!

We said hi, and she started to introduce herself to me, and then I think I kind of cut her off and said "I know who you are!" :rolleyes1 Just for future reference, if I ever meet any other DIS'ers, just be aware that I'm extremely sarcastic and awkward, especially when I'm nervous, and I have to admit, I was kind of nervous! It turns out I didn't have to be, though, because she was SO nice! We chatted for a few minutes and even took a picture together! Sadly, we only took one picture, and although she looks adorable, I look horrifying, so maybe we can try again another time! We said goodbye and went our separate ways, and I immediately regret not talking to her longer! It takes me a little while to get out of my "I just met you so I'm really shy and awkward" phase, and I felt like towards the end, I was just getting out of that, so I wished we could have hung out a little longer, maybe went on a ride together or something! But still, it was nice to finally meet a DIS'er, and and it was even better that it was a surprise! If we planned it, I probably would have been even more nervous!

I'm so glad I met a DIS'er because it turns out, I have nothing to be afraid of! I'm just so shy at first, and I'm never really good at meeting new people! But now I realize, we all have a huge common interest, DISNEY, that anyone on here must be a great person to meet! I hope to meet a lot more of you in the future! And Alicia, I'm so happy we ran into each other that night, I just wish we spent a few more minutes together! :goodvibes

We didn't really know what we wanted to do next, so I suggested we go to Fantasyland and check out the new Dumbo. By the time we made it over there, I felt like I had been walking for hours, and what is it, maybe a 10 minute walk at the most? I was SO tired, and my feet were really starting to hurt.

P1020197.jpg

Brandon wanted to go on Dumbo, but I just wasn't interested in standing in a long line, and it was pretty long at that point. So we just moved on and kept walking through Fantasyland. We checked the wait time for Winnie the Pooh, and it was too long, so we made our way to Tomorrowland. There is always something I want to do in Tomorrowland...the Peoplemover! And there is never a line for that!

Once we got to Tomorrowland, we noticed something weird...the Peoplemover wasn't moving!

P1020200.jpg

It was just sitting there, looking all sad and pitiful...I thought maybe it was just stuck, because I know that happens sometimes, so we walked over to the entrance, but nope, it was broken. :sad1:

There was something about the Peoplemover being broken that really upset me...I was tired, I was getting cranky because my feet were really hurting and oh yeah, I was tired. I was done.

I asked Brandon if he minded just going back to the room, and he was more than ok with it. He does not like magic hours, he thinks getting up at the crack of dawn to go to the parks and then staying out as late as possible is stupid. :sad2: That's usually how I plan every trip, but I've kind of been noticing that's not really the best strategy, especially when it is brutally hot outside. In November, I can do it, but when it's 100 degrees out, forget it, it wears me out.

I was so mad at myself. I hate leaving the parks, I hate leaving EMH's early, and I was looking forward to this night for SO long, and we did nothing. If I didn't meet Alicia, it probably would have been a total waste of time. I mean, I love being in the parks and just wandering around, but that's more of an Epcot thing, you go to MK to go on the attractions, and we did ONE thing!

P1020205.jpg

I sadly walked away from Tomorrowland and we made our way to Main Street.

P1020208.jpg

As we walked down the street, I realized I wanted to get something to take back to the room to eat before I went to bed...a rice krispy treat. I assumed they had them at the Emporium, but why go there for something yummy when you can go here?

P1020210.jpg

The Confectionery! As sad as I was to be leaving MK, I was cheered up immediately by this store, how bright and happy it is inside, it's impossible to be depressed in there!

I chose my rice krispy treat quickly, an adorable purple flower

P1020211.jpg

and asked Brandon to pay so I could look around for a few more minutes. As I was looking, I noticed these:

P1020213.jpg

Turkey Leg shaped rice krispy treats!!! OMG! I was SO excited about this, I had to call Brandon over to see it. I'm pretty sure he just shook his head and told me I was strange. Well, he should be used to that by now!

I put it back, since he already bought my flower, I didn't really see the point of getting 2, so we left and walked over to the buses. There was a bus getting ready to leave for the Beach Club, so we got right on and immediately left the Magic Kingdom. :(

I was still upset about leaving EMH so early, but I tried to think about how we still had another day at MK to look forward to. I was trying not to fall asleep on the bus, and before I knew it, we were back at the Beach Club. We were so slow getting up to our room, and we immediately changed our clothes and passed out. It was a long, hot day, and we had another long, hot day tomorrow to rest up for!

Up next...Epcot and my near death experience!

That is awesome that you and Alicia got to meet! I kept looking for either of you, but no luck!

I can feel your pain about having to ditch MK EMH- it happens to me, and I get upset every time. But it is just the best decision sometimes.

That rice krispy flower is so CUTE!

Near death experience? Eep! Can't wait to read about that!

Honestly, I find it best that when you feel 'done' in Disney, it's better just to skip the parks and spend time in your room or by the pool/jacuzzi, etc.

Don't mind me. I've been kind-of lurking on the DIS boards lately. I've been really busy, as usual, with family parties and such. I also started my new job today! :) I actually get paid vacation time at one of the libraries and it accrues, so I definitely won't have enough days to take a long trip this fall. The only getaway we'll get this fall is to visit our college friends in Texas. I guess it's actually a blessing in disguise. It 'forces' us to save money and plus, our house is on the market so I'm hoping we'll be moving sometime this fall or winter. Greg and I are determined to take a big trip next spring, either Alaska or Europe. I don't think I can stay away from Disney for too long, so we'll definitely try to go next fall. Greg's 30th birthday is next August and I know he'd love to go to Vegas. Lots to look forward to next year! :)

Whoo the one where we run into each other!

Leaving MK is always hard and sometimes you just have to ditch out early, but it still sucks. Good thing you got a rice krispie treat on your way out! And that Turkey Leg one is awesome! :thumbsup2

It was so great meeting you! I was standing on the ledge going, "I'll kick myself if I don't say hi." I still remember how Brandon was telling us how he got some of the water in Pirates in his mouth because the ride was jerky. When we walked away, Alex was like, "That would be so nasty.":rotfl2:

I totally would've stayed and talked longer or gone on a ride, but I didn't wanna seem weird, plus I knew we both wanted to enjoy MK EMHs. If we're ever in the park together again, though, we'll definitely make sure to grab another photo.

And I agree about the Contemporary. As much as I love watching Wishes on the Poly beach, nothing beats standing on Main Street during the show, massive crowds and all.

I think you looked really nice in your PP picture!

That's cool that you met a fellow DISer!!! Definitely seems like it made up for leaving EMH at MK- that, and the cute purple flower rice krispy!!!!
That turkey leg one made me seriously LaughOutLoud because I could totally see you buying that one if you hadnt already bought the flower!!!!! :D

and BBOOOOOOO that the people mover was broken :( That made ME sad!!!!!

The view of the MK from the Contemporary is amazing! I agree, sometimes it is nice to just put away the camera and enjoy things without watching it through your viewfinder.

Yay for your DIS meet! You sound like me-I am the same way meeting new people. I love doing it but also get sort of shy/nervous. Bummer you couldn't have hung out longer.

CONTEMPORARY EVERYTHING. Good Lord, I'm on a Contemporary/BLT high right now and I don't think it's gonna go away for awhile. Please excuse me.

Aww, how awesome that you got a surprise dis-meet! Alicia seems awesome, I bet that was fun! One of these days we'll have a dis-meet too!

Don't be so hard on yourself! Magic Kingdom will always be there. :)

HAHAHA the turkey leg rice crispy! How awesome! I have to ask though, because so far I haven't been able to figure it out... what's the stuff on top? Is it like fondant?

Awesome TR! Looks like so much fun! Your so lucky that your husband loves disney so much (even if he won't admit it!)... Cannot wait to read more! *subbed*

That's so cool that you got to meet Alicia! I want to see the picture. You know what they day, "It didn't happen unless there's a picture". :rotfl:

I'm glad you enjoyed the fireworks from the Contemporary.

Weird about not having the row to yourselves on POC. Maybe they just goofed up and weren't paying very close attention.

That is a super cool picture of Dumbo. Love it. Love all your low light pics.

Looking forward to another day, but not a near death experience. :scared1:

No, we didn't go to Steak 'n Shake... I'm still craving a Frisco Melt, LOL!

Glad you got to mark "Watch Wishes from California Grill" off your Disney Bucket List! At least you can now say you've done that, right?

"near death experience"?! :scared1:

Awesome you saw another DIS'er at MK! Sorry you were so tired that night! I simply can't imagine doing MK EMH's. I'm usually a morning person when I am not working so late nights at the park just don't work very well for me!

How cool that you got to see Wishes from the Contemporary! I wanted to do that, but I was wondering if the strange angle would be too weird!

Sometimes, as annoying as it can be, leaving the parks is definitely the best decision. We've learned that one too!

Yeah for the update!
I agree with you on the view of the fireworks from the contemporary...they looks so off to the side...I really didn't liek seeing them at all...and vowed to never watch them from there again!! LOL

Yeah, for the DIS meet! I have yet to have one, maybe next trip... Even if it was for just a few minutes...that's cool.
I'm the same way...I really hate being on the spot to talk to someone especially when I just meet them...at work the other day I was riding the elevator with an upper manager..of course, I couldn't think of anything to say...so we rode in silence...LOL, oh well...there went may chance to make a good impression...

gotta love the humidity and frizzy hair :(

What a cute cake and a sweet surprise in your room!:yay:

So happy you enjoyed the Cali Grill! It is my favorite by far and I always order the same dish as you did!!

I understand about the EMH. I always go into planning saying "we are staying late this night" and when it come down to it...we are just simply exhausted. It makes me sad at the time but I am glad to get back to room and sleep and start fresh the next time.

Near death experience?!? :scared1:

Those silly CMs! That's never happened to us on PoTC either! Maybe they thought the four of you were together? I dunno, that's odd. :confused3

YAY! Your first DIS meet! That's so exciting! Don't worry about being nervous; I can totally see where it would be a little awkward, especially if it's unplanned! They're so much fun though! :goodvibes

HAHA that rice krispie treat is great! I love it! :rotfl:

Uh oh...a near death experience?! That doesn't sound good. :scared: I can't wait for more updates!
