This is your 24th Anniversary? But you're so young!~A 5/12 TR!*PTR link pg 49, 9/14!*

I've always wanted to try a Shake N Steak too. Sometimes its good to bust out of the Disney bubble.

OMG - that sushi looks to die for! Yum! Your dish looks pretty darn good too.

What a cute little cake and what a great surprise. How sweet!

Oh - and the slipper - love it! I hope someday I get surprised with one of them! :goodvibes

Glad to hear your husband's surgery went well.
I can totally relate to the swimsuit thing. Glad you were able to enjoy yourself though!
How incredibly sweet of them to send the cake, and the slipper from your DH too! What a special anniversary!
Mmmmmm, Cali Grill is so amazing! I had forgotten about the sangria; it's so delicious! The pork looks good, too.
BLT is my dream resort. SIGH...one day. :goodvibes

I've never been to a Steak and Shake before, but it sounds good! I always want to make those spices you see at the restaurants too, but never remember to!

I don't really understand sunbathing either. I always just sit there like, "now what?" :confused3 .

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your meal at CG!! It was one of our more slower-paced meals too. DBF said the exact same thing about the Spicy Kazan Roll that Brandon did!

Your day so far sounds wonderful!

I am pretty self-conscious in my bathing suit but if people don't like what they see they don't have to look right? I am also trying hard to lose weight before my October trip. your 6lbs in 2 weeks is awesome though!! (are you dieting and exercising or just one?)

The mini cake is awesome! That was so nice to receive!!!

Cali Grill sounds wonderful. I'm not really interested in the Sushi there. As much as I like Sushi I will take the simple rolls I can get here and go for the awesome food choices when at WDW.

The slipper is super cute!!

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. You are BEAUTIFUL. Remember that.

Oh, we love Steak & Shake! Mmmm, the Frisco Melt is my favorite. So yummy. Now I'm craving one! We're actually going out to dinner tonight with my MIL... I think I know where I'll suggest we go! :thumbsup2 And next time, be sure to get a shake! Their shakes put all other shakes to shame. Seriously.

The mini cake and slipper dessert are too cute! I'd want to just look at them, too, and not eat them!

Hello!! I just wanted to introduce myself! I have been reading along with your TRs for a while, but just haven't commented, so I wanted to come out of lurker status and say hi!!

I really really enjoy all of your TR's and it looks like you guys always have such amazing trips!
My DH and I went on our honeymoon to Disney as well, and it was so much fun!
We are going back in November, and we can't wait!

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your dinner! The chocolate slipper looked sooo good! I might have to drop some hints to my DH for next trip! hahaha:rotfl:

I can't wait to read more!

WOOHOO, pages of your TR to read :) That's what I get for falling behind on TRs due to wedding planning. Haha, I love the title of this new one. I wonder if we'll still be going to WDW when we really are celebrating our 24 year anniversaries!!!

OH MAN, I would've flipped about the no APs thing too! Haha, but that's why I keep the tickets together because I'm afraid Howard will forget. I grew up in a house where my mom would take out our tickets (no expiration) and show them to me a few times, counting each one, before packing it away. Then she'd show me where she packed them. I end up doing the same thing now! "Look, see? Yours and mine, 1 and 2. Going into the front pocket." Howard only forgot minor things in comparison to tickets - all our extra pins and his Vinylmation for trading!

YUM, Le Cellier! Wait, people compare it to Outback?!? I love Outback; I really do, but it's just a totally different class than Le Cellier!

I'm too afraid to go in the butterfly house too! I think it'd actually be a danger to them because I'd want to swat them away! They're so delicate and fragile, I know, but if they came near me, I might just hurt them trying to get away!

YAY! That means the noise was a GOOD thing for you because you may not have gone to ask for a new room if it weren't for that! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous view!

Mmm, Cape May is the one buffet I really want to try! I like some seafood, but I'm slightly allergic to some things so it's nice that they have so many other options.

I don't watch Phineas and Ferb, but it's really cool that they have the character in the Animation Academy! I hope they continue to add newer characters. I love the classics, of course, but it'd be cool to see Toy Story or something (I don't know if they ever do that).

Another trip?! ? Haha, based on FB, I always feel that you're always in Disney. JEALOUS!

Aww, what a cute surprise to have in the room! I think those are the types of surprises I like. Haha, it's not in front of anyone or anything like that (ex. like proposals in front of a lot of people!). I don't like surprise parties, but I wouldn't mind a cute treat like that in my room! Howard should totally read this comment ... haha.

Mmm, that sushi from Cali Grill looks amazing! I love plain ol' sashimi (just the raw fish), but I also love all the fancy rolls too!

Okay, you HAVE to get a shake from Steak N Shake. They are the best! I was telling another DISer on their TR that I only go to that restaurant for the shakes. I have a Steak N Shake in the city next to mine, and anytime I go over there to shop, I make sure to grab a shake.

I hate that time frame between going from your lounge chair to the pool, it's so awkward. I know when we were there in May, I had burned my shoulders a bit, so I just wore a Tshirt the whole time.

As far as the not swimming/laying out situation goes, I tend to rotate. I'll lay out for awhile, then when I get hot, jump in the pool to cool off, etc. But, my thing is I live by the beach and my parent's have a pool, so I'm by the water all the time, so I don't feel the need to swim as much as others. I think if I was vacationing in WDW and that was my only pool time that season, I'd be in the water. :confused3

California Grill sounds so good! Reminds me of the Disney Cruises...and both those desserts look wonderful! I've always thought that slipper is beautiful, and how sweet of your sister to surprise you with a cake!:wizard:

I don't watch Phineas and Ferb, but it's really cool that they have the character in the Animation Academy! I hope they continue to add newer characters. I love the classics, of course, but it'd be cool to see Toy Story or something (I don't know if they ever do that).

They DO have characters from Toy Story! When we went 2 years ago, we drew the 3-eyed alien! It was fun! I can't wait to draw again this trip. (I'm a wanna-be artist at heart!)

Just got caught up a bit! For your non-trip updates, I can relate. When our dog was a puppy she chewed through the power cord for our laptop...not cheap to replace with Apple! Also, in 2010, we did the November and December trips, like you have planned. It was really close together...kind of a feeling of, "What, we just left WDW and now we're going back?" (not as much anticipation for the second one), but both trips were great and very different. You can't go wrong with Food and Wine and the Holiday stuff! :thumbsup2

That is an awesome surprise cake in your room! Love it!

I know what you mean about bathing suit awkwardness. Especially at SAB! Maybe we were just missing something, but to get from the BCV to the pool, we had to walk right through the lobby. Felt so weird. Love that pool, though!

Sounds like a good dinner at CA Grill and very cool that you got the slipper! What a tasty day this was! :rotfl:

I love me some Steak n Shake. Peanut butter milkshakes are my favorite!

Girl, you are beautiful and you should not be embarassed to wear your bathing suit proudly! And kudos for losing 6 pounds in 2 weeks! That's great! :thumbsup2

Awwww that cake is precious! How thoughtful!

OMG YAY! I was so excited for your California Grill update because we're eating there on our trip for the first time too! And YAY you ordered exactly what I want!! I don't even know what polenta is, but that dish sounds amazing and I WILL be getting it! :cloud9:

Enjoyed this update so much, Jen! :) Glad Brandon is feeling better, and YAY for your six pounds.

Can't believe you'd never tried Steak-n-Shake before! We don't have one in the city where we live, but it's a tradition for us to stop at a certain one on the way to the beach every summer! You should have gotten the shake! They do side-by side shakes--I love the banana and chocolate! YUM!

The mini-cake is so pretty, and glad to hear it tasted good too. That was very sweet of your sister!

Lastly, I'm so glad you enjoyed Cali Grill. I've only been there that once (on an anniversary trip too), but I still think of it as my all time best meal. I had the same pork tenderloin, and I agree--It's the best thing at Disney that I've ever put in my mouth!

Glad you got a power cord! And so cheap! Also very glad to hear Brandon is doing well. I hope he continues to improve!
I like to sunbathe a little, but only to dry off after I've had my swim! I'm glad you had a good swim in a near-empty pool! :cool1:
The cake is so sweet! And so pretty!
Gotta love getting all dolled up in Disney just to have the heat melt it all off. Oh well, sounds like a fantastic anniversary meal!

hi,
hope Brandon is getting better every day...
Glad you made a decision...yes, Disney planning should not make you stress...I'm glad the decision making part is over!

Your silly kitty!

I saw Salty in person last night!!!...well, he was playing on the field and I was in the stands...if that counts as seeing him in person - lol
the rain delay just sucked the energy out of the Sox...oh well....I can't imagine tonights game wont be called off as its POURING here right now..
Wondering about Youk...kind of sad he is being traded

I know, I'm late, but I had to respond about the Red Sox stuff! I'm so sad about Youk! :( I hate that the Red Sox have no loyalty, seriously, someone has one bad year and they get rid of them. I was a mess when they traded Nomar, he was my favorite player of all time. Actually, because I was a little younger back then, I used to be convinced I was going to marry him! :rotfl:

Can you believe Salty probably won't be in the All Star game? LAME. I don't even want to watch it. :sad2:

ACKKKK, can't believe I didn't see that you started this....I am seriously behind but I promise to catch up this evening!!!!

Yay, glad you're here! I have to get caught up on your TR as well, I'm behind on a lot of them since I had no computer for so many days!

I totally do the same thing with hurrying up to get in the pool once the cover-up is off. I hate bathing suits. But I love pools (especially when it's a million degrees out!)

How cute is that cake??? Soooo nice of your sister and niece to do that for you! And Cali Grill is always delicious, glad you both enjoyed your meals so much!

I've always hated bathing suits, even when I was skinny! :confused3 I love pools though, it was nice going in SAB when it was so hot that day!

Isn't that such a cute cake? I was so surprised and happy! I love Cali Grill, Brandon wants to eat there on every trip from no on...so now that makes Le Cellier, Cape May and Cali Grill that we have to do on every trip...:rotfl:

There's a Steak n Shake in my college town and let me just say girl... you should have gotten a shake! They are DELICIOUS. If you ever happen upon a Steak n Shake again, make sure you get one!

Glad you had fun at Stormalong Bay! Agh that pool looks like so much fun and the Beach Club is perfect.

Aww!!! That little cake is just precious! How sweet of them to get it for yall! I love the little sauce heart/balloon things hahah.

GOOD LORD. Brandon's sushi looks unbelievable. OMG. I haven't had sushi in so long and now I'm just craving it. SIGH.

CONTEMPORARY. :cloud9: :lovestruc

Ughhh I know I should have gotten one, I was afraid to get a giant shake and go swimming right after though! And I figured I would either not finish it and waste it, or I would finish it and be sick! :rotfl: Next time!

SAB is amazing, I wish I could stay at the Beach or Yacht Club on every trip!

Isn't that cake adorable? It was so good too! I love that they make tiny cakes like that, it's so simple, but so Disney!

Yeah, he was really happy with that sushi. He has a picture of it on his phone, and the other day he was looking at it, practically drooling!

I don't know how, but I've become obsessed with the Contemporary lately! I keep trying to figure out a way to stay there for a few days in November, but it's just not going to happen unless they offer like, a 75% discount! :rotfl: Someday!

You need to come to Chicago for multiple reasons: 1. To visit me! 2. To eat some great steak! 3. So I can take you to Steak N' Shake to get a SHAKE! They are delicious!!!!

Haha, sounds good! Brandon and I actually want to go to Chicago to go to Wrigley...I'd prefer to go when the Red Sox are they, but I'm not sure if that's happening next year, so maybe we'll just go to see a random Cubs game! It's so unfair that there are Steak N Shakes all over the country, but not in Connecticut! I don't even think there are any in New England! Lame. :sad2:

Oh my god, if you come to Chicago, the three of us (you, me, and DisneyCrafter) should hang out!

YES absolutely! :dance3:

AH, I'm the same way about swimming in public! I totally understand!!!

I like steak and shakes shakes, but not their food. Probably because the few times I've gone, the food has not been great :(

SOOO glad that you enjoyed CA Grill :) We enjoy going there!!! Yes, they are super busy, but the food is delicious!!!

I'm glad you understand! I wish I had confidence to just not care, but I always feel like everyone is staring at me and judging me...I know they aren't, but I can't help thinking that way!

Aww, that's too bad! I mean, we've only been to Steak N Shake once, but our burgers were really good! :thumbsup2

I loved Cali Grill, it was worth the wait! :yay:

I've always wanted to try a Shake N Steak too. Sometimes its good to bust out of the Disney bubble.

OMG - that sushi looks to die for! Yum! Your dish looks pretty darn good too.

What a cute little cake and what a great surprise. How sweet!

Oh - and the slipper - love it! I hope someday I get surprised with one of them! :goodvibes

I'm not a fan of leaving the Disney bubble, but I guess sometimes it has to be done!

It was a great surprise! :thumbsup2 The cake was adorable and really yummy too!

I hope someone surprises you with the slipper! I had to print out the directions on how to order it and give Brandon our ADR # to get my surprise! :rotfl:

Glad to hear your husband's surgery went well.
I can totally relate to the swimsuit thing. Glad you were able to enjoy yourself though!
How incredibly sweet of them to send the cake, and the slipper from your DH too! What a special anniversary!
Mmmmmm, Cali Grill is so amazing! I had forgotten about the sangria; it's so delicious! The pork looks good, too.
BLT is my dream resort. SIGH...one day. :goodvibes

Thank you, so am I! :thumbsup2

Isn't it awful having to wear a swimsuit in front of people? Too bad we can't just swim in our clothes!

It was a great anniversary, and eating so many desserts was nice too! :thumbsup2

BLT is so beautiful! I like the CR rooms too, but I think the BLT rooms are a little nicer! However, I think staying at the CR would be amazing, because of the monorail, and the shops and restaurants...someday!

Steak N Shake is really good! And it's so cheap, I think our bill was like $10 or something! If we got all that food at Disney it would be like $25!

I wish I enjoyed sunbathing, it seems like a nice way to relax, but I hate the heat and I get bored too easily! That's why we haven't been to a tropical island yet, I feel like all you do there is lay on the beach and that would drive me crazy!

Cali Grill is pretty slow, but it didn't really bother me, you could tell how busy they are, and you can see everyone rushing around, it must be stressful to work there! :rotfl: Brandon made me make an ADR there for November just to get that sushi again!

That is true, I should remember that the next time I go swimming in public, people can just look away! :thumbsup2 I haven't officially started dieting (meaning Weight Watchers, because that's the only thing that works for me) yet, but I have changed the way I eat...I'm only eating wheat pasta, I started eating fruit (which I've never really done before) and I'm cutting way down on the salt that I eat. I'm guessing the 6 pounds is from cutting the salt and it's water weight, but whatever I'll take it! Next week I'm going to start WW again and exercising, this week was too crazy, driving Brandon around and a few other things that were stressing me out! I probably gained like 3 pounds back, but whatever, I'm ready to start losing! :thumbsup2

Cali Grill is so great! I'm not a big sushi person, I don't mind a piece here and there, but Brandon is obsessed and I told him they were known for the sushi there so he had to get some! I already know I'm getting the pork again, just for that polenta! YUM!!!

Awww, thank you! I do try to remember things like that, and tell myself not to worry about other people, but stripping down to a bathing suit in front of what seemed like hundreds of people made me so self conscious! I'm hoping I'm a little smaller on my next trip so I don't have to worry about it so much!

Did you end up going to Steak N Shake? I'm jealous of people that live so close to one! Someone should open one in CT, I bet it would do great! We just got a Sonic here a year or two ago, and the lines were like an hour or two to get in! Even to get take out the lines were like 30 minutes! We're deprived up here I guess! That reminds me, I still have not been to that Sonic!

I didn't want to cut that poor cake in half, but we didn't know how else to eat it! And I didn't want to eat the slipper but...it was yummy so it had to be eaten!

Welcome, so glad you came out of lurkdom!

Aww, thank you! We do have a lot of fun on our Disney trips, it's my happy place! When are you going in November? It's such a great time to go!

Haha, I had to drop so many hints to my DH to get me that glass slipper...basically say "I want this, can you order it for me, here's the info"! I wish he could think of these things on his own, but he doesn't really research Disney like i do! :rotfl2:

WOOHOO, pages of your TR to read :) That's what I get for falling behind on TRs due to wedding planning. Haha, I love the title of this new one. I wonder if we'll still be going to WDW when we really are celebrating our 24 year anniversaries!!!

Yay so glad you're here! Yes we will definitely be going to WDW to celebrate our 24th anniversaries!!

I think I'm renewing my AP this year, which means I'll have to buy Brandon a ticket separately, so I will be taking charge of the tickets this year! I'm glad it was so easy to print a new one, but it's not that easy with a MYW ticket, especially if you don't buy it through Disney! Haha, I did forget my Vinyls that I wanted to trade in December, though, I was so mad at myself!

YUM, Le Cellier! Wait, people compare it to Outback?!? I love Outback; I really do, but it's just a totally different class than Le Cellier!

I love Outback too! That's why I don't get the comparison, I guess people are saying Le Cellier isn't a different class than the Outback, and it's some kind of insult. Whatever, less people I have to compete with to get an ADR there! :)

I'm too afraid to go in the butterfly house too! I think it'd actually be a danger to them because I'd want to swat them away! They're so delicate and fragile, I know, but if they came near me, I might just hurt them trying to get away!

I might swat one away too, if it flew at me! I wouldn't want to hurt them, but I don't want them near me!

YAY! That means the noise was a GOOD thing for you because you may not have gone to ask for a new room if it weren't for that! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous view!

Good point! Wasn't that view amazing? I loved getting up every morning and looking out there! I wish I could stay there on every trip!

Mmm, Cape May is the one buffet I really want to try! I like some seafood, but I'm slightly allergic to some things so it's nice that they have so many other options.

Cape May is amazing, and it's nice that they have so many other options for people who aren't big seafood fans! Be careful with your allergy, though, I'm not sure if anything gets cross contaminated or anything! That would be bad thinking something is safe and finding out it's been cooked with something you're allergic too!

I don't watch Phineas and Ferb, but it's really cool that they have the character in the Animation Academy! I hope they continue to add newer characters. I love the classics, of course, but it'd be cool to see Toy Story or something (I don't know if they ever do that).

I just got into Phineas and Ferb and I LOVE it! I watch it every single day, I can't believe it took me so long to watch it! I think they do Toy Story characters, I could swear I've seen a drawing of Buzz on a TR! I'd love to draw Lotso! Yeah he's a jerk, but he's cute! I also want to draw a classic, Mickey or Minnie or someone! :cool1:

Another trip?! ? Haha, based on FB, I always feel that you're always in Disney. JEALOUS!

Haha, I wish I was always in Disney! :rotfl: My next trip is still over 4 months away, it seems like forever!

Aww, what a cute surprise to have in the room! I think those are the types of surprises I like. Haha, it's not in front of anyone or anything like that (ex. like proposals in front of a lot of people!). I don't like surprise parties, but I wouldn't mind a cute treat like that in my room! Howard should totally read this comment ... haha.

Isn't that cake cute, it was such a nice surprise! I would die if I was surprised in front of people! I got engaged in Disney, but luckily Brandon knows me so well that he did it in our room at the WL, I would have seriously dropped dead if he did it at the castle or a restaurant or something! :rotfl: I hope Howard sees your comment! Maybe I'll try to figure out a way to bring it up when I comment on your TR! :rolleyes1

Mmm, that sushi from Cali Grill looks amazing! I love plain ol' sashimi (just the raw fish), but I also love all the fancy rolls too!

I'm not brave enough to try sashimi, but Brandon loves it too! I'm surprised I can even eat rolls, but there are some that I just don't like...I don't like anything that tastes like an ocean, and some of the weird things taste like ocean and it grosses me out!

Okay, you HAVE to get a shake from Steak N Shake. They are the best! I was telling another DISer on their TR that I only go to that restaurant for the shakes. I have a Steak N Shake in the city next to mine, and anytime I go over there to shop, I make sure to grab a shake.

California Grill sounds so good! Reminds me of the Disney Cruises...and both those desserts look wonderful! I've always thought that slipper is beautiful, and how sweet of your sister to surprise you with a cake!:wizard:

I will definitely get a shake the next time I'm at a Steak N Shake! They look too good to pass up a 2nd time!

Every time I've gone to Disney I've had a tee shirt on at the pool, but this time I wanted to be more comfortable and just wear a swimsuit...it was fine when I was in the water, since no one could see me but anytime I got out I made sure I ran to wherever I was going! :rotfl:

Cali Grill is amazing! Definitely a new favorite! Wasn't that nice of my sister and my niece to send us that cake? It was so good!

I don't watch Phineas and Ferb, but it's really cool that they have the character in the Animation Academy! I hope they continue to add newer characters. I love the classics, of course, but it'd be cool to see Toy Story or something (I don't know if they ever do that).

Aww, I'd love to draw the alien! I'd be happy with any Toy Story character!

Just got caught up a bit! For your non-trip updates, I can relate. Sounds like a good dinner at CA Grill and very cool that you got the slipper! What a tasty day this was! :rotfl:

What is it with animals and chewing cords? I'm going to have to get that spray that prevents them from chewing things, maybe I'll go to a pet store when I get out of work tomorrow! :thumbsup2 The thing with my cat is, she's not even a kitten anymore, she's 2, and she still acts like a baby! She's such a bad little cat, but I can't stay mad at her because she's so cute! :cat:

I don't think I'll have any problems with anticipating the 2nd trip to Disney! Even though it will only be a 3 week break, I'm ready to go back as soon as I get home! What I'm worried about is getting home from the 2nd trip and not going back again in 3 weeks! I'm afraid I'm going to fall into some deep Disney depression! :scared1:

Isn't the cake so cute? It was a great surprise!

Yeah, I don't like walking through the lobby to get to SAB it seems weird being in there, dressing in a swimsuit! I guess you could go out one of the other doors, but they're all so far away!

I loved Cali Grill, so glad we finally tried it!

:cloud9:

OMG a peanut butter milkshake sounds amazing! I'm boring I always get chocolate! I'm definitely getting one the next time I go there!

Awww, thank you! I know I shouldn't be embarrassed, but I can't help it, I just feel so stupid! At least I got over it once I was in the water! THANK YOU I'm so happy I'm back on my journey to lose weight, I'm finally motivated again! This time I'm doing it! :thumbsup2

Isn't that the cutest cake? Such a great surprise!

I'm sorry my Cali Grill review wasn't better, I'm just not good with food descriptions! Yummy, awesome, and soooo good are the best I can come up with! But it was yummy and awesome and so good, you are going to love it! I'm not sure what polenta is either, some kind of grain like rice maybe? Or tiny pasta? Whatever it is, it's fantastic at Cali Grill, I wanted a trough of it!

Thank you for all of the nice things you said at the beginning of your update!

I'm not sure where the closest Steak N Shake is to us, I could swear my sister said New Jersey once? I'm not sure, but I will definitely be going back! :thumbsup2 I'll just be sad to leave the Disney bubble again!

It was very nice of my sister to send us that cake, it was adorable and so yummy!

Cali Grill is definitely one of the best meals I've ever had at Disney, it's right up there with Le Cellier, and Le Cellier is my favorite place ever! :cool1: I can't wait go again!

I know it was so nice only paying $2 instead of $20! :yay:

I tried to sunbathe when I got out of SAB just to get a little tan, but I was so bored after about 15 minutes we left and went back to the room! I did get tan though! :thumbsup2

Loved the cake, it was a great surprise!

Haha, well, next time I won't make the mistake of walking 5 miles through Epcot through the blazing heat, we'll just drive instead! It was an awesome anniversary dinner, so glad we finally tried Cali Grill! :dance3:

I'm very often one of those people that are not in the pool. Don't get me wrong, I Loooove water and being in a pool but i just CANNOT take the cold  I need a real nice temperature in a pool to be able to enjoy it - even when it's sweltering hot out.

The cake in your hotel room looks very nice and wow, that WAS a really sweet thing for them to do!! The slipper from your DH was a nice touch too!! what a speical anniversary trip!!!

I'm joining in. Thanks to your handy dandy links I got caught up fast.
I am the same way about the pool. I am way to heave....especially my legs...even if I am skinny, I have freakishly huge legs and I always think everyone is looking at them and thinking something. There is no way to cover those up in a suit.

It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip. I think we might have overlapping dates in Nov. I am there from the 2nd to 14th, but will be on the Dream from the 4-8th.

LAME is right...I haven't watched the all-star game in a few years..for the reasont hat people I like generally are not in it.
Do you ever go on boston.com? they had a great article on Youk. on how he was one of the good guys and had a good work ethic, and with him leaving "the bad guys won"...I tried to find it, but of course, I can't...I'll keep looking....
