Thought you might all enjoy seeing what we will be leaving behind in just 12 more days! (not soon enough) Plus I need a little more practice before getting there so I can do a trip report for you all!

You just make sure you don't bring that white stuff with you! Be careful getting outta the yard.

At the rate we're going we may never GET out of the yard! Almost 16 inches so far in just 48 hours.... Now the county plow has gone by and made a 500 foot tall snowbank in front of our driveway --- so nice.... And yes indeed our kids are still in school- only in northern Minnesota...:santa:

I've been as far as Virginia, MN. I can't see your location label on my phone. Where you located?

Yikes! Beautiful, but makes me more thankful for the warm sunny south! ;)

We had to live in MD and KY a few years respectively and I can tell you we did our share of snow removing, and enduring long winters. :(

Back to the south for this girl - don't mind the hot humid weather - love the long summers. :)

Tiggerdad- that is cool! We are by a little town called Warba, which is close to Grand Rapids. That's only an hour from Virginia! You may have gone right by us! :-)

We came through Duluth and went north. It was in January about 5 years ago. I think it was like 20 below for a high. I distincly remember stopping at a bar, maybe in a place called Cotton? I still have a t-shirt from there. It was neat how everybody rode snowmobiles everywhere.

HAHAHAHA :lmao: This to TOTALLY sums up northern MN- all you need to be classified as a "town" is to have a bar, and the only mode of transportation is snowmobile. Just yesterday, in fact, I had to go run a wire and flagging tape across my yard and driveway just to keep the stinkin snowmobiles from continuing to race right into my yard and make a track to turn on- it's unbelievable the gall they have. My kids said I should have used barbed wire, but I guess I am too kind. ;)

We are just off Hwy 2, which we take right into Duluth- that's only an hour for us! If you ever come this way again, you will have to let me know-I'd put the coffee on! But January wouldn't be my choice month if I was you! :rotfl2:
Incidentally we are up to about 18 inches now! I can't hardly see the motorhome- to think we parked it by the house to start getting it ready! BAHAHAHAHA

Early in my marriage DH worked for a company here in Baltimore that got bought out by a company in St. Paul. He was offered a job and a package to transfer to St. Paul. When there was a mention of tunnels that would go from our apartment to his office in order to avoid cold/snow...well, that was enough for us to have DH look for a new job and we ended up in NC for sometime...:thumbsup2. OP...enjoy your trip to sunny FL....looks like you really need it.

We'll do. Keep us up to date on your travels. Be safe. Keep the snow. You would think the snowbank would be enough to stop the kids in your yard.
In deep dark Mississippi we have similar issue, but with 4 wheelers instead. We do use barbed wire, minus flags...

Leave the white stuff behind, serenitygr, and bring the sunscreen to Florida. :beach:

Bama Ed

PS - wouldn't it be funny to go home after your trip with a tan/sun burn/skin color? You'd be the talk of the town.... :mic:

wow, sucks to be you now.
Would love to be you in 12 dayz, :woohoo:

Aw hate winter.(in my best Yosemite Sam)

It is GREAT weather at the fort right now.....starry night by the campfire!

Hmmmmm.....I think if I headed south away from that, I probably wouldn't head back north ever. ;)

Enjoy your trip!
