This is us..

And sometimes pretty vocally too. It's OK if he's decided that he's not interested in losing weight at the moment, but that doesn't mean he can discourage her. As grim as that egg white thing did look, a little support would not have gone amiss!
I thought this, too. Not only the healthy breakfast, but when they were at the gym, he finished and then told her, "We're done", while she was still on a machine. I can see if he'd had enough, but if she was willing to keep working, he should have encouraged her, not told her to quit.

I don't see Toby at all trying to keep her from losing weight. I think he wants to know she perfect in his eyes just like she is.

I also got the impression Randall wasn't Miguel's biggest fan.

I really, really want to know what the catch is with Toby. Not that I think he's a serial killer or anything, but no one is endlessly funny, kind, and positive. He's got to have some faults and issues and I'm intrigued to learn what they are.

Believe it or not, there are a whole lot of people on some of my groups who can't stand him. They think he's pushy. My opinion, and the opinion of my mom and daughter, is that he is very pushy. But that's what Kate needs right now at this time in her life. Personally, he's got that goofy, out-there personality that I like and I would date him. I might hint that he shave that weird patch on top of his head though.

I love Randall's family. He is by far my favorite of the siblings.

He's mine, too. I do like Kate, and Kevin is growing on me. It's so interesting to see the back story and find out how their personalities were shaped. The actor who plays Randall is so good at the subtleties.

I can't wait for next week.

I actually identified with Kevin at the pool. Been there so many times as a kid (heck, as an adult) where all your sibs are in various states of crisis and everyone just assumes you're okay. Not that I didn't feel for the other two, just I felt Kevin in that moment. I wanted to say, "I notice you Kevin! I know you're there."

Honestly starting to dislike Toby. I find him overbearing. Yes, Kate should have gone to him and asked about the ex but I get the feeling he wouldn't have opened up like that and would have just blown it off.

I love Randall's whole story line. I also love William. I am mentally preparing myself because I don't think he will be around much longer:(

I have loved seeing them get to know each other and how the whole family is warming up to him. It's just so sad he will be taken away so soon after meeting them. I love how they are touching on Randall's family being wealthy and him growing up in a white family while William was in the slums. Yet we see how Randall did have a connection to his race by him gravitating towards the other African American families at the pool. You could also see it in Randall as he watched his daughter being snow white in a play at school. He is probably wondering if she is being deprived of her culture by being in a wealthy and predominately white area (as they keep showing and making comments to his white neighbors, the audience was mainly white etc..) It is so interesting getting the background stories.

I still like Kate and Toby, I think he had a right to be upset that she kind of deceived his ex by applying for a job to try to get to know her. I would also be upset, its kind of sneaky.

Oh, it was definitely sneaky. I'm not excusing Kate's behavior but Toby knows she's insecure, he saw her reaction when he said that was his ex wife and he just left it at that. I felt like he kind of left her to drift which isn't fair since the prior episode he pretty much demanded she put herself out there. If he's "all in" the very least he could have done was say he wasn't ready to talk about it but it was bad. I don't know, I can't quite put my finger on it, he just bugs me.

How old is the actor who plays Randall? He played the same age Randall is supposed to be on Army Wives. Seems like he should be in is 40's now.

I've been wondering that too and even Googled it but couldn't not find an age anywhere for him. I feel like he's got to be in his 40's too.

Absolutely!

That's when I really began warming up to Kevin. Poor kid!

Toby bothers me, too. Always has a bit, but I'm starting to see him in a slightly better light, too. Maybe as his confidence grows, he'll be better for Kate.

I was wondering the same thing. I think it was the woman from the pool. Looks like she becomes close with the family.

I missed that, so I'll have to re-watch tomorrow and look more closely.

I read that the actor playing the woman by the pool (Ryan Michelle Bathe) is married to Sterling K. Brown (Marshall).

Yea it was the woman by the pool.

I loved this episode. It touched on some good topics.

Has anyone else considered that thru all of Williams medical testing we may find out that William is not really Randall's bio dad after all? Maybe William will need blood and when Randall goes to donate...... Oops! Nope he's not your dad!! William of course thinks he is Randall's father but Randall's mom was a drug addict and another man may be Randall's bio father.

Oh man! That would be a twist..I hope William gets better, but I think it's only a matter of time.
