I agree. There's a twist coming. I just have no idea what.ETA: the answer to the question makes it seem to me like that maybe pregnancy isn’t where they’re headed.

That is what I thought too , didn’t the surrogate mom say she was going to have an abortion than changed her mind.No ones said it but it’s also a possibility that she did get pregnant and decided not to continue with it. That’s why what’s her names story got to Kate.
It’s very unlikely for an abortion to effect future pregnancies unless you had a back alley abortion and got botched. And I hope the show doesn’t go that route because it’s so misleading.
Kate couldn’t get pregnant due to her weight. She had a less than 10% chance to conceive (if I’m remembering correctly) plus her odds of having a successful pregnancy without serious complications was pretty low too. All due to her weight.
I saw the ovulation test and found it weird. I honestly didn’t even know OTC ovulation tests were a thing back then. And aren’t they expensive or were more expensive over 20 years ago.
This. BTW, I don't think he lives on a boat--why would you fish from land if you lived on a boat?
I just looked up when they first came out. ClearBlue had one in 1989. I wasn't able to find much else about it though. I am about the same age as the them. In 98 I don't remember hearing about them. It think it was more widely available closer to 2004. When I was trying to get pregnant with my son in 2005 they were never brought up. It was just take your temp.
After reading about the ovulation kit my theory is that Kate bought it accidentally thinking it was a pregnancy kit. She saw a plus/positive and thought she was pregnant. Wild, I know. I’ve never heard about ovulation kits, but I had my babies forty years ago, with no fertility issues.
In a normal world we would be busy with the holidays....Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, New Years, etc. I would think ratings would be down thus the break until January. My thoughts...
I think Ellie is legit. But, I don't think she's their babies birth mom. I think she'll decide to parent the baby and another adoption situation will happen instead.
I can't imagine an 18 year old going to buy an ovulation kit, especially in 1998 when they weren't a well known thing yet. I also hate the idea of an abortion story line. I hope that is not where this is headed.
And Jan 5 is just dumb. I would rather they start the season later and just let us watch each week without all these breaks.
That actually makes a lot of sense!!! They were starting to become popular when I had my younger two and they are sold right next to the pregnancy tests. They look the same, she was embarrassed and in a panic, so just grabbed something and didn’t bother to look. After reading about the ovulation kit my theory is that Kate bought it accidentally thinking it was a pregnancy kit. see I saw that argument differently.... last season they almost divorced over their kid eating avocado and who saw it happen first..."Still, do Toby and Kate have to bicker every episode? Who cares that the diapers were left in the trunk? Good grief, so you got 2 boxes. Big deal!"
I agree! And how would they not have remembered that their potential birth mother was standing right there taking in that whole fight? I was sure that the camera was going to pan to an empty space where she had been standing--that she had just taken off seeing them go on and on about the diapers.
I'm entirely over Kate and Toby. The constant bickering gives me a headache. But, I'm sure the writers are just setting the stage for the fast forward we saw of Toby alone and depressed in the bed on the phone call about Rebecca.see I saw that argument differently.... last season they almost divorced over their kid eating avocado and who saw it happen first...![]()
this season 'diapergate' and they end their fight with a happy smile and a quick resolve.... a little forced IMHO on the whole "we argue well" approach....
aww, I really like Kate and Toby. I think they're more realistic than Randall and Beth.
