Hey, Chele!! Yes, I just saw that -- amazing! God certainly works in mysterious ways!

Last I saw Scotty still didn't hear back from his docs, right?

No, he still hasn't heard back and he is taking the ostrich approach. Keeping his head buried in the the sand rather than call his DR. He of all people should know how important it is to get it taken care of. His dad had to have reconstructive surgery on his nose because of skin cancer.

I finally watched Tangled. As a matter of fact I am watching it again right now. How adorable!! I love Pascal!!

OMG!!!! Woo hoo!!!!:cool1: Yippee Yippee Yay Yay!!!!!:dance3:

Cheri -- I am so utterly excited for you!!! I saw your post "look at my ticker" and was going, hmmm, you're going to Disney in 3 months...then did a double-take - wait! That's a baby!!!

I think I read back that you guys are adopting a baby boy in mid-November?

Wow -- God really works miracles!!:littleangel:

THANKS MARSHA!!!! I should have PM'ed you but I knew you would eventually come back to the dis and see. LOL

Yes its a boy, and the date my ticker is counting down to is the c-section date that is already planned for the birthmom.

Ugh, Men. We went to a fair and they did a free blood pressure screening. Mine was 108/62 = great. Jerry's was 140+/90+ or so (basically not good). I told him he should go in and speak to his doctor. Jerry says...why, so the doc can just tell me that I need to diet and watch what I eat? Not happening.

UGH.

Yes, Tangled is a terrific movie. I think Maximus and Pascal steal the show!

No problem! I've been busy but am so glad to see this! I'm working on my Picaboo album now for my May WDW trip and our July OCNJ trip, and that is S_L_O_W. but I hope to be back checking on DIS again!

Marsha, wow your diastolic is pretty low! They say that it shouldn't go below 60 so keep an eye out :thumbsup2

Mine was 98/60 last I had it checked so I was almost TOO low.

Yeah, I've always had really low blood pressure. It's never been above 72, even when I was pregnant, and generally 60-64. Never been below 60 either. I just always figured that was my norm so not really worried. My docs have never said anything bad about it being too low...my dad is the exact same way, too.

well we are lucky because it affords us the opportunity to eat as much saltly snacks as we want and not worry so much about the sodium. :rotfl:

unfortunately there are no homestudy or lawyer coupons to be found :sad2:

hey, ladies! I've been off-Dis for a while but wanted to come back and say hello, catch up on my trip report and see how everyone's summer has been.

How are ya?

Now I'm going to read back a few pages...:thumbsup2

Trent goes back the 8th

Rachel starts on August 29th. This is the first year that school starts before Labor Day. It seems weird but I know I'll like it in June.

Rachel did Kindy last year so this is 1st grade (Trent is 2nd grade?). This will be big for us b/c it's all day and getting up early (school starts 7:50am!!) and we do NOT get up early!

So we already started practicing our new schedule.

oh wow...yeah, u will appreciate it come June for sure :thumbsup2

I didn't realize Rachel and Trent were just a year apart. Yep, he will be going into 2nd

My god..7:50!!!!

That is insane

Our high school starts around 7:30

I never imagined they have elementary start that early

What time does she get out?

We were spoiled the last 2 years. Trent went 9:10 to 3:40

This was great for us, as Trent is not a morning person and neither am I

This year, it is 8:30 to 3pm

This year, it is 8:30 to 3pm

She'll get out at 2:35pm.

Our school district goes by the study that was done a few years ago saying that high schoolers need their sleep. So ES goes earliest, then middle school is 8:40am - 3:28pm and high school is 9am - 3:48pm.

And yes, I think 7:50am is INSANE!!! I'm not sure how we are going to do it.

How much are your school lunches? Ours is $3/day ... that just seems high to me. We are going to pack lunch and I'll just let Rachel buy a meal, maybe once a month for a special occasion.

Marsha,

The elementary and high schools start at 8 am here, and the middle schools start at 9. The elementary then gets out at 2:45, as well as the high schools get out at 2:50, with the middle school getting out at 3. Why the different times for the middle schools I have no clue. The lunches at the high school and middle school are $3 and elementary school is $2 or it was when my kids were little.

I wish ours started at 8am...there's just something about those extra 10 minutes that seems soooo early!

yeah, see our lunches at $3 just seems really expensive!! I know California stuff is generally more $$ than here, so I don't understand why ours is so much. I mean $60 for lunches for a kid who may not eat everything anyway, is just such a waste.

When our kids went to elementary school they had like three different choices of lunches and a salad bar with things like raw carrots and fruit. Kacy everyday for her entire time had pizza for lunch with carrot sticks and chocolate milk. They didn't have carrot sticks at first but she kept requesting them and she made it happen. Proud mom moment.

THat is interesting

no way trent could function that early

When he had to be at school at 9:10, I get him up at 8:40

I dressed him while he slept and he ate half asleep

the more sleep he gets the better

Um...I think our lunches are 2.35

Trent is picky as can be, so he wont be buying lunch anytime soon

He only buys milk and that is 50 cents

Now get this...they charged 35 cents in Pre_k, but K and 1st, 50 cents...same cartons ...makes no sense :confused3

That is good idea to let her get one or two a month as special treat if something she will eat

Middle school kids are going thru puberty and are more miserable maybe, maybe that why they get later time
