San Francisco doesn't ever have heat they are not prepared at all for the heat. And 89 in San Francisco is like 100 degrees here and we are also on a bay.



I don't mind 89 but as I said 89 in San Francisco is like 100 anywhere else.



I am looking forward to it. I need cool weather this is our third day over 100 with no air conditioning. I am melting.

Oh my...I don't know how you're handling that heat with no AC. I pray it cools down for you soon!!!

Kody and Loren are going to see Panic! at the Disco and Kacy and her friend David are going to see Thursday and Taking Back Sunday. So Scotty and I are going to play tourists. Go down Lombard and visit Fisherman's Wharf and visit Golden Gate park to see the buffalo.

Went to lunch with some pals from work today! Can't believe we've been out of school 4 weeks already! It's just flown by ~ all that traveling I guess.

About to head to the pool and see if we can stand it. Ugh, it's so freaking hot! Oh, I said that already!

Agreed! Ugh! I'm sick of summer already and today is only the first day of it. I'm really glad we had our A/C serviced this year before it breaks again to make sure it runs good all season. We can't have it go out with a baby in the house. It was bad enough last year when I was pregnant!

Yeah it's broken and beyond repair. A unit to air condition this house is far more than we can afford right now.


I really liked Nakia, and Javiar. On Blake's team I have to tell you I am apathetic. With Christina's team I really like both women. And although I really like Nakia I wouldn't be heart broken if Vicci was the one to go on.

Mike and I were discussing trying to take a quick trip to Cedar Point (in Ohio), so I asked one of our dear friends about it (we even shared a house with him in college) because he is from Michigan and was born in Ohio.

From there, he asked us when we were planning to go (we weren't sure) and then invited us to his family's beachhouse on Pelee Island in Canada!!!

The dates are July 19 through 22. We'd go to the island for a day/night, head back across the border on Wednesday, and then experience Cedar Point on Thursday the 21.

A quick trip, but very exciting....and as I'm finding, not quite as cheap as we'd thought it would be!! So I'm a little worried, but we really want to make this happen.

For starters, we had to order passports today, and have them expedited. Once all the fees were added up, it was a whopping $242 for EACH of us! They are good for 10 years, thankfully. But yikes, that hurt.

Keep your ears open for cheap flights into (and out of) Detroit or Cleveland airports!

Airtran's prices were actually the cheapest right now...problem is that we'd get in too late and we'll miss the ferry. That's a big stressor with this trip...trying to work our flight around the ferry to the island. I'm just praying it all works out.

If we can't have a baby, we might as well take advantage of spontaneity (and roller coasters at Cedar point)

Cheri, Cedar Point is a lot of fun... been many times although it's been years since the last time. I didn't know you had a friend from MI ~ my home state.

Pelee Island is beeeeautiful!!! I've only seen it from afar, not actually been on it but that whole area is very pretty. You will love it.

I will be in MI from July 30 to Aug. 8 ~ will miss you by a week!


p.s. Cedar Point is a long drive from Detroit Metro, just over 2 hours I'd say... Cleveland would be much closer.

Our friends will be picking us up from the airport--or a hotel near the airport, if we can get in on Monday night--(they are making the long drive in from New Orleans b/c they have the time to do so) and we will go with them to the docks to get to Pelee. Then head back over to the mainland on Wednesday...

So I'm thinking at that point, we should get a rental car for the last 2 days, and a hotel near Cedar Point or the Cleveland airport, and fly back from Cleveland on Friday, instead of Detroit.

Any other tips?

That sounds like a good plan. Too bad the hwy to CP (I-80) isn't prettier. Think flat farmland. *snore* It's a toll road too... be prepared for that. Also, that hwy is notorious for being patroled heavily by Ohio cops ~ so don't go too far over the speed limit.

If you need suggestions on where to stay near CP, I can ask UJ for you. They have been a lot more recently than me.

We are about 3 hours and went a lot as teens...such great coasters that will scare the crap of you
