This is a first for me and it's strange! I have my plane reservations, all my ADRs,all my passes except my AP(waiting for discount), but no ressie! It was weird making ADRs and have them ask me where I'm staying. I could only say "I don't know".

I am still waiting to close on DVC, so I can't make a reservation. This is hard for someone who is a little OCD! I'm only 4 1/2 months out and no option on my dates. Words of encouragement please!!

Once you are in the system with a member ID you can use your points to make a reservation, you don't have to wait until you close.

Wish I could. This is a resale. A slow and painful......resale. Original time estimate was 4-6 weeks. We are now just over 7 weeks. It's kind of like having a baby. Normally, a couple extra weeks or so is no big deal. Unless your pregnant or buying a DVC resale.

Four and one half months out? Does that mean mid-February dates? Do they include President's Day weekend?

If not, I'd say you have an excellent chance of getting whatever size villa you want at some DVC resort...maybe not one of the "littles" (BCV, WLV), but a good chance at SSR, OKW, BWV (preferred view)...don't really know about AKV...if, however, your dates include President's Day weekend (one of WDW's peak times), you might want to do a cash ressie as a back-up "just in case"...that way you can use the W/L (which has worked every time for us, including T-giving last year at 5 months out) and lower your stress level some...and don't forget that if you can consider a split stay (moving between resorts) your chances improve, too...

YOur chances are even better if you can use a one-bedroom...I believe studios & 2-bedrooms book up faster ... don't know about grand villas, but have read here that they can be hard to get much past the seven-month window...

Lots of good luck to you! I totally sympathize with the stress you must be feeling!

I'm actually going to be there 2/28-3/5, ESPN weekend and the Dance and Cheer Competetion. Thanks for the advice on the 1 bedroom. I am bringing my two youngest granddaughters and would really love to get BWV. I started to book cash ressie, but almost $500 for a STUDIO!! I've been looking for discounts, but....

Since your dates are totally unflexible, I'd suggest going ahead and making a back-up standrad reservation at another Disney resort (maybe a good chance to try a mod you have not tried, or BWI instead of the villas). If you get your desired reservation, you can cancel the cash ressie. BUT, if for some reason you can't get the dates you need, you could always rent your points to cover the cash expense of this one trip.

I would really get a reservation booked somewhere. You are getting in a crunch time period for a DVC reservation. As already been stated, you can rent your points if you need to, it will help cover your trip expenses.
Good Luck, who is your broker for your closing? I would give them a call.

I have called. They are waiting on estoppel from disney. I have been looking for back up ressies today. I'll bank my points before I rent them out. The room rates are so high it just wouldn't be worth the trouble(to rent the points)

I agree...I would reserve somewhere now, but like you have found out the cost of cash ressies at DVC are prohibitive. I would look at the moderate resorts. I have stayed at Port Orleans twice and it is very nice and reasonably priced (I think you can get a room for between$150.00 -$160.00 a night)This would keep you on the grounds and also wouldnt totally strap you financially.

I just had a ressie at AKV for 2/28-03/02 for ESPN. I changed my mind and called and got a Studio at BWV. I did ask about the bigger resorts and they still had availability. I just did this Monday of this week. HTH :thumbsup2

Good Luck to you!

If you are thinking of getting an AP, how about an AP rate for a room through CRO? Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I did book a back up last night, but this gives me hope. Just not knowing what is out there is fustrating. It eases my mind knowing there is still decent availibility. (This cash ressie is dipping into my add-on reserve... ouch!)
