This is really silly, but...bringing your own bedspreads?

Yikes! Think what that would do to your luggage pile!!! That would take up
much needed souvenir space!:goodvibes

i've seen rats the size of house cats. i'm not personally that worried about bedbugs, but it seems to be a concern, so just throwing it out there.

Unfortunately I have also seen the rats, though I must admit it was many years ago behind a food store where they "hung around".
The kids in the area used to name them with "pet names" they were SO big, LOL, TOO FUNNY!!:rotfl2:
As an aside, I have NEVER experienced anything @ Disney in all my travels and I hope it stays that way!
Have a nice week!

I dont think thats crazy or silly I dont see a problem with it but I myself wouldnt b/c that takes alot of space in your luggage

I knowfor me I would not bring a bedspread:confused3 For us there is bound to be something we may not like in our room weather the TP is to scratchie or the drawers stick a bit, I figure I am in the room to sleep and shower. If thats the worst of the things i don't like I can get over it fairly easily.

If the beds were really uncomfortable or the amenities were not what we wanted then I would say not stay there. For me the comforter falls in the minor issues. for as much as i will be in my room I would not care to much~ sometimes grandmaish blankets are comfy:rotfl: ;) .

All that said take the blanket if your vacation will be better with it there. Pull it off the bed so the MKing can clean properly and set beds as they need to

17 replies? I really wasn't expecting that! :lmao: Realistically, I know I won't be bringing my own bedspreads, regardless of how much I don't like the Bayou ones. I just needed to see it up on the screen so I can slap myself out of the idea. :upsidedow Switching resorts isn't an option...with 5 people there's really no other way to go without going up in price. (Or I can sneak one of my kids into a 4 person room and we can start a fun debate about that. ;) )

Now I've got a thread with dead turtles, bedbugs, and rats...oh my! :rotfl:

Thanks for all the replies! I really do appreciate the input. :flower3:

Gosh my first thought was - pick a different resort. Now I understand that part!;)

That's an interesting question! I've never heard of anyone bringing their own bedspreads :)

I guess if it will make your vacation better, then go for it! But I wouldn't do it because I don't want even more luggage to haul around.

Let us know what you decide!

I know this is not the same as not liking the decor, but for our upcoming stay at POP I am bringing my own light weight down comforter (not the heavy ones). Since we are stayng 7 nights this year, and I cannot stand POP's bedspreads or blankets.

Do your bedspreads from home say "vacation" more? To me, I don't WANT my bedspreads from home, kwim?

I want to get away from home on a vacation, so to me, looking at the same comforter I see everyday wouldn't be all that vacation-ey.

Ditto

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Actually it would be nice to have my comforter. For comfort. Not for appearance.

I never use the bedspreads in hotels because I'm afraid they don't clean them very often and - ewwwwwww! :crazy2: I throw them in the closet while we are there.

I guess if you are driving down and have the room, why not? I am flying and wouldn't want the waste of space in my luggage.

I know yours was a question of decor, not comfort, but FWIW...

I've never slept well in hotels because I use a down comforter at home and the poly-blend hotel blankets just never felt right. Last WDW trip, I brought a twin size down comforter and slept like a baby for the first time in 15 years of WDW trips! :cloud9: The bonus of down is that you can pack it in a ziploc, suck out all the air and it takes up the same amount of room as a sweater. :thumbsup2 I pop it in the washer/dryer when I get home.
