We have our resies made for Hojo....I have ordered several shirts from Disney Shopping so the whole family can be clothed in the Disney theme every day of our trip....I have checked the height requirements for every ride the kids want to go on, and have come up with good "side adventures" for our little daughter to take with Grandma while we are doing Indy, etc.
I have a vague itinerary for each days
I know when we are going to eat at BB and have our Fantasmic schedule all planned out (barring rain, of course)
I have a shopping list for things we need to buy, and a wish list for souvenirs in the park......
I even know what I want to take pictures of and where I plan to pose the family for our big "wish you were here" shot.....
The problem is - we still have over eight months to go!!
Is it possible I might drive myself crazy in the interim?

That sounds like me!! And we are still TEN months away. I keep reading tips here, and I add info to my file. My husband laughed last night as I was trying to "finalize" our schedule for which days we want a PS for character breakfasts and BB. He kindly reminded me that I'll probably learn new info here between now and then, so the calendar of today will not be the calendar of tomorrow. Hope you enjoy having a plan to look forward to! :thumbsup2

OMG I never seen anyone plan that much. LOL Have fun planning anyway. We all understand that total and utter crazieness in people here. :rotfl2:

Im sure time will fly hopefully.

Jade has had everything set for months...We no sooner got on the bus and Jade was like we can go for Artys birthday next year honey. Of course I agreed. lol

:lmao:

I have 5 months to go. I'm trying so hard not to plan too much because I'm taking my parents and I don't want them to know what a freak I am! :rotfl:

I do have plans to eat at Lilo and Stich, watch the Christmas parade at least once, catch the fireworks from the hub, hopefully see Aladdin one more time... Must get silouhettes, which will have to be afternoon or evening... And I'm still debating whether we should plan to catch the candlelight or aviod it altogether. I'm worried it will take up too much time especially with the crowds, and it will be our last day in the park. Hmmmmm....

Is it too early to request early check-in at hojos???

plans are made to be broke, oh wait that was rules. :lmao:

you are going to drive yourself mental if your trip is 8 months out. lol

I don't think you are crazy at all! :lovestruc I have been planning our trip for a month now, and we still have 5 months to go.

Last time we went it was with a big group and so we missed some of the things we really wanted to do. So, this time I have a list, and my first 3 days already planned. (we will be there for 5 days).

There are rides we don't want to miss and shows we want to see and some stuff I learned about on here that I never knew about! So plan away! I find I have to limit my time on the DIS, though, or I can be totally OBSESSED! :rolleyes1

Even though we are going with almost the same big group, I will have the plan and if they want to follow it, that's fine. Otherwise, they are on their own!

You are among friends...so plan away ...no one here thinks you are weird, you are normal .....well normal among us at least ....:rotfl:

The only thing I would say is to be aware that some souveniers available in the parks now may not be there 10 months from now when you visit. I've frequently seen things as simple as park t-shirts change on a year to year basis.

dec last year started planing as soon as got home. jan or feb called desert inn 100dollers a night for a big spa room lol (had planed two small trips one oct and dec, but dec has to be cancled but its ok we just made oct longer hehehe and next year im already saying were going mid dec

You will go crazy in the mean time

One thing I found when all of my plans were sorted 6 months before we got there, is that when I finally got there, everything that I tried to remember to do disapeared! I forgot about Walt's Room, I forgot about all the little things I wanted to look for, I forgot which foods I wanted to try, I forgot about the segway tour that was available and I forgot about the Disney Warehouse and everything!

Try not to go too crazy! But I can garantee that you will!

I don't think its crazy at all - I am planning our first ever trip for August 2009. The only thing I have been able to do is decide on a place to stay. I havent given any thought to dining, etc. YIKES!:dance3: Should I be?

Part of the fun is in the planning.

I did the same thing for our trip to WDW, except the kids were all around 10/11 years old & my dad & his wife also went.

They told me - you make all of the plans - we just want to have fun.

Everytime I would run the plans by them they would repeat the sentence above.

So I planned.

We arrived at the park, I gave my dad & his wife the itinerary -- all good.

The next morning I got completely blank faces about things I had been planning for months. :confused3

So, I had to use my plans as a "general reference." We still had a blast, though, and my dad was surprised I knew so much about WDW. :)

I still make plans for DLR when we go, even if no one quite follows them. It's part of the fun, and you learn so much!

I'm in the same boat ;-) I'm looking forward to:
when the 2009 ticket rates come out
every report on CA Adventures progress

Thanks to you I have the HOJO reserved too and am happy with it, after more exhaustive research I have yet again concluded it is the best deal in Disneyland. I was looking to add on a room if I could at the et rate but I don't think I'm going to rely on daughters possible presence- if she is available we'll get her a cot lol. It'll go faster than you think ;-) In a way I'm happy our trip got delayed a year because so much is happening in CA Adventures ;-)

Wow its crazy how much you've planned !!! I think thats amazing :)

I had planned a trip on the 22nd of June and had about 8 months of waiting to
do, which I thought was torture. Then in May, my fiancee (shyboy72) had to
have major brain surgery and we had to cancel completely. I had been waiting
for the opportunity for us to re-schedule with an okay from the doctor and a
week before our trip was going to happen, the doctor said he'd be fine to fly.

We were so disappointed by it because we didn't have to cancel our trip, but
we ended planning for Oct. 10th ! So we've got 3 months to go. I'm going
crazy haha ! I can't wait because we've never been for halloween and we are
going to try to go to the Halloween Party !! Yay !

I recognize that name--shy boy. He seems awfully young to have something happen like that. I am so glad everything seems ok now. I used to be a glass half empty person, now thanks mostly to Dr. Wayne Dyer :)--I'm a glass half full kinda gal. We've been to Disneyland when they still had the Halloween stuff up, they changed over to christmas when we were there, very lucky. I'd still love to see the haunted mansion all decked out though, we love Nightmare. That trip was before Nightmare Before Christmas I think. I'm kinda glad we are going during spring break now instead of the week with superbowl sunday now though because when you can't afford to go even every few years, you want everything up and running...

We got to see Nightmare stuff in January when we went. It was AMAZING :)
It made me sooo happy. I love it too! Thanks for the kind remarks in regards
to my fiancee. It is shocking that someone at the age of 23 would have to go
through so much, but I am extremely proud of him and look up to him so much
for his strength. :)

You'll be fine.... Just don't go an stand in line for Pirates of the Caribbean 10 minutes before your reservation for BB!

I planned for our WDW trip for five year! yes that says 5 years! We were very cash poor at the time. I learned so much from the DIS though in that 5 years that made our trip better.

Wish I had been better informed about my diabetes. I was new to it and was down to 40[very very bad] but my Dd saved the day!! She did it again on our Jan. 08 trip. It is all the walking and Dh's trying to Save food Dollars that got me into trouble!!
