This cannot be happening!!!

I have no advice. I am just pleased/surprised/bewildered that the word poopy found its way into an adult discussion.

Announcer: So "His", now that you've got the flu, what are you going to do?

His: I'm going to Disney World! :thumbsup2

All kidding aside, I hope he's feeling better soon and you get to enjoy your vacation! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

I'd guess he got it on the plane or in California, so if you can keep from getting it...you should be in the clear. Tamiflu is a good start, he also needs to stay hydrated and eat lots of antioxidant rich foods, vitamin C, zinc, etc. By vacation time, he should be past contagion point and the vacation can go on as planned. It wouldn't be a bad idea for him to travel with a mask...protect him from catching anything else in a weakened state and them from any lingering virus. Fluids, fluids, fluids. Chicken soup actually has healing properties. Gogi juice, pomegranite juice and lean protein. :thumbsup2

Wow op that's a whole lot of drama for the flu. Unless he has some underlying health conditions I'm sure he'll be better in 4-5 days. I'm sure he appreciates the drama while feeling so crummy.

You're handling it better then me. I would check him into a hotel and say "here's some Tamiflu. See you in 4 days!" Lol!

Your rant was very funny. :) I hope everyone else stays well!

I would do the exact same thing. And if he wouldn't go to the hotel then the kids and I would!

OH MY EVER LOVIN' GOOD GRIEF!! :scared:

DH flew in from a trip to California on Friday and over the weekend, he mentioned he was feeling poopy. Like he was getting a cold.

But noooooo.....it's not a cold. No...

It's the flu. As in THE flu...the big one everyone warns about during the winter and the one he got a flu shot for.. INFLUENZA. :( How the heck is flu still around on April 30th??? It's practically summer here and we're all wearing short sleeves and drinking lemonade. THERE IS NOT ROOM FOR FLU!!

ESPECIALLY....because WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY IN 4.5 DAYS!!! :crazy2:

omgomgomgomgomg..... when he came back from the doctor and said it was official..he had the flu, was my first thought, "Oh you Poor DEAR, let me pray for you! Let me fix you chicken soup!"

NO!

I am not that sweet! No, it was..."oH nO oH mY gOsH NOOOOO....the DISNEY TRIP....!!!!" :scared1:

And of course now I'm freaking out and paying attention to every sinus drainage, or head ache or sore arm or dry eye...I have become....symptom checker extraordinaire! And naturally , " the get away from me you germy man wife"

Ok...rant over. But seriously...keep wiping down those grocery cart handles. THE FLU IS STILL OUT THERE LYING IN WAIT LIKE A SNAKE IN THE GRASS!

It is just a flu. People get it every day. I am sorry that you are more concerned about the trip then your husbands health.I guess canceling was not an option? That is what I would have done no matter how much I had paid.

Oh you poor thing. I don't think you have anything to worry about though. My DH came down with the Man Flu a week before our trip to WDW. A few days later I came down with just a mild cold.... Lol

Seriously though. Keep the Lysol a spraying.

I'm sure the OP is concerned for her DH's health.

DS15 just had the flu last week. I believe they said it was the "avian" flu? Anyway, it came with a terrible cough. It was school vacation week so he didn't have to get up early, but he was really only out of commission for a couple days. (with a fever) I realize there is a difference between a teen and an adult, but hopefully your DH can kick it as quickly as DS did.
And for anyone who was wondering, yes, he did have a flu shot this year.

Lots of flu still around. They say it isn't unusual for flu to hit also in the spring. Hope DH is better soon.

Of course I'm concerned for my DH. He's 58 and needs to stay healthy. I love him and he doesn't have time to be sick with his job.

It's called silly sarcasm. :thumbsup2

I started feeling a bit poopy myself...sinus pressure, drainage, some fever....and the doctor tested me too but it's negative. He wants me to take a preventative dose of Tamiflu in addition to sudafed and antihistamines.

My DH is indeed feeling a little better. The tamiflu is working! :thumbsup2

Sorry - hope you are all well for your trip! Hate when that happens as a vacation approaches. We have had our share also. :grouphug:

Sorry to hear your husband is sick. Hopefully he will be out of it enough not to realize your lack of sympathy. Healthy thoughts to him!

DD14 tested positive for the flu today.. She has had a cold for a week now...had softball practice on Monday and said her chest was tight. She had a cough...but nothing to worry about..She stayed home from School Tuesday and Wednesday (no fever...but just felt off and it was the State testing so I told her she could stay home if she didn't feel like taking them this week) and woke up today with a 103 fever. took her to the dr this afternoon and it was 104. Dr did the flu test and it was positive. she is on Tamiflu now.

I tested positive for type B flu last Friday, despite having had a flu shot. I was put on a Tamiflu which helped a lot with the body aches but I am still congested as of today. Thankfully, no one else in my family came down with it.

Well from how I read it, she was more worried about her trip! After all she did say" "I am not that sweet! No, it was..."oH nO oH mY gOsH NOOOOO....the DISNEY TRIP....!!!!"" :confused3

Oh, please. I don't think the OP meant you should take it as her final word. It's a rare person who doesn't have an occasional case of foot-in-mouth disease. Heck, my DH was told he needs open heart surgery and BOTH of us immediately thought, "Crap! There goes our Alaska cruise!" :headache: It took a couple minutes for me to comprehend what open heart surgery even meant--and I'm an RN! Yeah, not my finest moment but I'm human and so is the OP.

Now if she had come on here asking serious questions about how she could leave him behind and go off by herself to live it up for a week, then maybe I'd have a different opinion. I believe everyone has the right to blow off a little aggravation from time to time. I think anyone would be plenty aggravated and disappointed, but not angry, if we had to cancel a big vacation due to illness.

Well I did suggest if he was that ill as she stated in her first post if canceling the trip was something she thought about. But I guess that Tamiflu is working. But also excuse me for having an opinion and reading it the way I did.
