I might be doing this (inadvertently), have a 3 day ticket right now but debating whether it is worth $25 for me to get another couple of hours in the parks (on the day I'm leaving)

What are the lines like at the monorail entrance? Are those with 4 or 5 day hoppers allowed to enter the park through that entrance? We will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

That's a good question. I would think they would have to let you enter that way. It would be too unfair to guests, especially those staying at the Disneyland Hotel, if they were not allowed to use the Monorail entrance. Not that they seem to care what is fair for guests these days.

If Disneyland was smart, and they really wanted to eliminate the fraud aspect of the multi-day hoppers, They should just get fingerprint readers like Seaworld has. You can't fake somebody else's fingerprint. They could have them on every line which would speed up the process. This is 2012...the technology is available.

This has been mentioned many times before during similar arguments, but the SW scanners are terrible. I used to have a SW annual pass and never, not a single solitary time, did my fingerprint scan work. Always, ALWAYS, someone had to come over and check my ID instead.

I just called guest services because I had a question about how to handle our 6 day hoppers this November. The cast member stated that the 6 day hoppers should also line up in the 4-5 day hopper line.

He also said that when I turn in my voucher/e-ticket at the gate they will print each family members name on the ticket at that time. So we will each have to show id. We have done this in the past several times and it really did not take that long. But that was when each line could handle the burden.

I asked if there was a different option for redeeming my voucher/e-ticket such as when we check in at the Grand Californian, he said the only way is to redeem it at the ticket turnstile.

We have redeemed e-tickets in the past and it has never been much of a problem at all as I said before, but with this new system of only having 2 lines for all the 4 and more day passholders it is going to bring those lines down to a sluggish pace.

I voiced my concerns about this to the cast member and asked who we should direct our complaints/ issues in regards to the segregating out of the longer passholders into longer lines. They said to send our concerns/issues to the regular Disney Email address that is on the website.

I hope they get this all sorted before we get down there! I dont mind standing in a long line if everyone else is in the same boat, but I will not be too happy if I have to stand in a longer line while other folks are just breezing past me because they aren't staying in the parks as many days!

Not saying I "like" the new line rule for the 4 and 5 day hopper tickets, but it just goes to show you once again that those who abuse the system (ie all the ticket renters and selling of unused days on ebay and other sites) have once again ruined it for the rest of us. I can see why Disneyland has put this policy in place. I'm sorry that you lost part of your early entry time, but its another classic example of you reap what you sew, sadly most of us had noting to do with the "sewing" this time.

I just sent off an email to Disney because I'm concerned about my upcoming trip. I'm going to have an annual pass, but my son (13) will only have a 5-day parkhopper. I'd hate for us to both have to stand in a super long line at entry when they won't even be able to check ID for him anyway; it's not like he has a driver's license at this age.

The manager at the gates when we were there last told us to always have our ID's out and handy even with AP's, we had so much trouble with AP pictures not even popping up, on the computer system.

But I agree with the 4-5 day passes being seperate is completely wrong. I know when we were there a few weeks ago the lines did take that long to get in even though people were signing their passes, so I am guessing this is just an early morning thing.

And you figure with Magic Morning, everyone has at least a 3 day ticket, no one has 1 or 2 day tix (unless staying at one of the hotels), so 4 or more days get 2 lines and 3 day tickets get all of the rest of the entrances. I think a lot of people will now be getting 4 day hoppers rather than three with this Costco deal.

Send an Email!!! Everyone needs to send an email to Disneyland and tell them that you feel like you are being singled out and being treated like you are doing something wrong and that they need to change the way they are doing this so it is more guest friendly. I am spending a lot of money and I am being treated like I am pond scum. There is no reason they can't do this at every entrance an not make it just 2 or 3 lines.

I posted on another thread that I think they need to make it so you exchange your online tickets at the ticket booth and sign etc so that the line for the entrance moves quicker. Think about it, if you have 20 or 30 people in front of you during an MM that need to exchange their tickets and it takes each person 1 minute to do it, that is 20 to 30 minutes extra you will wait behind them. With it being as busy as it has been recently, we are already having to get up earlier then before to get in line. And now with this, we will really have to get up early to get in the 4 or 5 day pass lines so we can get in at a decent time and not waste 1/2 of our MM.

I can't believe I am considering buying a 3 day pass and a 2 day pass instead of a 5 day pass. Losing 20 minutes of every EMH? Especially into DCA, where that can mean a 45+ minute difference in the wait time for RSR. How much is that worth to you? Ultimately, it's not worth that much to me ($200+$250 or just $290), but it's annoying for sure.

Look at an AP if you are going that route. You'll get the 10% off food and merch as well.


I gotta say I can't figure this out at all. It's hard, with everything there is to do in Southern California, to justify a pure Disney trip. I love Disney and enjoy the heck out of them but even I was curious about the new Transformers ride at Universal and the older my kids get the more tempting Knotts & Six Flaggs gets. Not to mention spending a day in Hollywood, having breakfast with Shamu, the zoo etc. If they continue to make it so obnoxious to stay longer it's going to make the rest look far more tempting. A city pass is starting to look really good.

But I know if we do that we won't be staying onsite. Disney won't be the focus of our trip anymore. They would be losing A LOT of money from our family. Our last trip we spent $1700 on hotel, $700 on an in room celebration and gift baskets, and we did four character meals. Not to mention the two days less we'd be in the parks; we liked to get the six day hoppers but they are gone. BUt seriously, if I'm in Southern California for 7 nights and we can only conveniently get into Disneyland for three of those days why would we stay on site? Heck we may not even be staying right near Disneyland at that point, paying for parking and driving is not the end of the world. I just think this could easily cost them more money than they are gaining back from stopping scammers.

Great idea. It loses some of its luster if you have the opportunity to buy a 5 day pass at a discount. Buying a 3 day discounted ticket and then trying to upgrade at the parks to a 5 day will cause you to forfeit your discount. For folks like us who work for a company that participates in the 10% off Corporate Ticket Program, that means we'll lose $29 per adult and $27 per child ticket.

It seems like crazy logic, but it almost seems with this, and the lack of 6 day or more park hoppers, they are saying buy an AP or don't come. Buying an AP was the suggestion that many of us got when writing to disney on that subject. Our family has trying to decide where our vacation will be next year. It's been DL for the last 3 years, I absolutely love Disneyland but if this continues, I won't come back for a Disneyland vacation again.
