Third Time's a Charm PTR - May 2012 - I should give up on planning trips.

Well it wasn't until this morning that I had it all worked out. Finally! I don't know if I mentioned that I spoke with a Home Health Care Supervisor back there in Florida. She called me back this morning with the names and phone numbers of Wound Care clinics. The first one that I called was in Kissimme and they had done this before! :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:

Tomorrow Fran's Doctor's office will send then her records via fax. They will be gone for the day in Florida by the time they send the records, but Thursday morning they will get them and call me (or I'll call them) to set up appointments for Friday the 4th and Monday the 7th!

Thanks so much for the offer, but thank goodness it won't be necessary. And thank goodness that she has Medicare because they can bill them and there won't be any worries!

Yay! :yay: It's going to work out!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: On with the trip!

Um, are you saying you may have to cancel a few days away from your trip?!? :eek::confused3

Last night I was afraid that was going to be the case. I spoke to an Urgent care facility and for them to treat her they would have had to reinvent the wheel. Have their doctor examine her and determine a course of treatment....yadda yadda yadda.

However this morning the nurse I mentioned a few days back called and gave me the telephone numbers of actual wound care facilities. The first one I calked had done this before. She doesn't need diagnosis, just ongoing care. Our docotr's office will send over the necessary paperwork and Thursday they will set up two appointments for dressing changes while we are there. The place is in Kissimmee so it's not far.

It will be like our facility. We bring in the dressing, they change it and we go on our merry way.

PHEW! You had me worried for a second that you would have to cancel yet another trip. I'm SO glad this is not the case!

Now onward to the packing and last minute planning! :goodvibes

You and me both! I was in tears with the prospect of another canceled trip!

While it won't be without hassles, at least we are going. Before I start futzing with reservations on Friday (of the trip), I'll wait until I hear from the wound care place.

WOW you had me worried there. I just finished reading your last couple updates. So glad to hear the wound care is a go at the center near WDW and the trip is a GO!!!!
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

So very happy for you Alison :woohoo:

I'm hoping that happy for us is appropriate....with the way Fran is acting we might be flying across the country just to get yelled at, cursed and why the !@#$%^& did you bring me to Florida just to be miserable. I think she will be staying in the room a lot, but at least I won't worry about her. we can go to the parks and have a good time. That is if Arline doesn't take too much morphine (at DL she misjudged her pills and took too many) and if she is up to going in the parks. From her movements tonight, she was looking pretty frail, we'll see how much we can do, but any will be better than nothing!

If Fran stays home and Arline stays too, that means you get to go out to the parks. :thumbsup2

You are truly evil!

I did that one morning at DL! I doubt I could do that at. wDW due to the proximity of the resorts to the parks. I would be more likely to get to a bar than a park. However that might be a good alternative to sitting in the room updating the TR! :lmao:

Are they at all excited about the trip?

If you're at the Beach Club, you can go to Epcot. England and France aren't that far away.

When at Bay Lake, MK is a short hop away. :thumbsup2

My leash doesn't extend quite that far! :lmao: We're at Beach Club next trip. Unfortunately I need to stay pretty close by.

I am glad I made my way over here before you leave. Your look beautiful in your wedding dress. I wish I had a readily accessible digital copy of my dress. They look very similar. I just took a picture with my camera phone off a wall portrait. I know the dress is hard to see, but the neckline, sleeves, and skirt type are very close. My husband's grandmother had it custom made for me, so I had a lot of input on the design. Therefore, I obviously love your dress. Staying at Kidani and watching the animals seems cool, so I think Arline made a good decision for the first three days. It looks like it will be an awesome trip. Hopefully, Fran's leg does not give her any issues. Cannot wait to read about it.

So today we made our appointments at the wound care facility. We are scheduled for 10AM on Fri the 4th and Monday the 7th. That's pretty early for us because Kissimmee is 1/2 an hour away so we have to be on the way well before 9AM the first day since we have to check out of the hotel.

Also, Fran and Arline have decided they want to go to a Titanic exhibit Friday afternoon, so we'll be canceling the Chefs de France reservation. We'll proba ly end up at a drive through for lunch that day if Fran has her way!

Oh well, I'd rather have her have an opinion than not have one!

Sounds like things are settling into place with the clinic.

And it's good that Fran wants to go do something in Orlando. :thumbsup2

Too bad about Chefs, but you're right. However, that Titanic exhibit sounds interesting. Hopefully you'll be able to take pictures on that and report back.

I love Chefs de France but would cancel it to see the Titanic as well. The exhibit was here a while back and I never got around to seeing it. I wish I did. Hope Fran's appt goes well.
