Third party ticket purchase/change question

I have searched all over these forums but I am still not terribly clear on this. I can save $300 buying park tickets with a ticket broker and we have our rooms and flights purchased so I am pretty confident on our dates but my traveling companions (why does family exist??) could flake out or something could happen. If our plans change I would likely move our dates, and I am aware that I need to read the fine print but if I have to change and even have to pay more can I do that through Disney? I just don't want to be out the money I paid if we do need to change.
