Thinking of adding to KT@DC what is the least number of points you think I'll be able to add on and need
thinking if I use points every 3 years by banking and borrowing

sorry if this has been asked before
thanks for any info

Are you talking about Kingom Tower at Disney Contemporary? It has been renamed to Bay Lake Towers (BLT)
I've not seen anything close to final #'s posted, and just based on rumors...
Aparantly filed paperwork showed an average # of points per unit that was greater than AKV's reported average, so for really, really basic future planning, I would guess figure out what you would need for savannah view at AKV and add extra for the cost of each point and extra for points needed for each stay.

Of course, actual needs will depend on what view category (if available) / season / unit needed, real points charts, real pricing which is all speculation...

As of now, nobody knows. But we can speculate...

The current minimum for an add-on is 25 points - 50 if you want financing. I see no reason for Disney to change.

As for how many points you'll need - that all depends on what size room you need, what season you'll travel, number of weekends and weeknights, etc.

Again this is just a guess, but I'm assuming that the tower will have two (or more) classes of rooms. Standard-view rooms will be about the same number of points as BVC/VWL/SSR/etc. Better-view rooms will be at least 20% more points/night.

Thanks
thinking if I added on 50 points

when did they change the name to Bay Lake Towers , liked Kingdom Towers better

When folks pointed out that Kingdom Towers reminded everyone of Jehovah's Witnesses (who meet in Kingdom Hall)

About a week ago. Many people complained that Kingdom Tower sounded like a religious temple. Never occurred to me, but I can understand the perceptions.

I think Bay Lake Tower is awful:mad: With so much magic surrounding that area, I'm surprised they chose Bay Lake as the landmark to refer the name to, just my .02.

Apparently the "higher ups" at Disney don't read the DISboards as often as they should, it's suppose to be Contemporary Resort Villas :rotfl2:

And nothing says magical like "The Contemporary". ;)

I really don't care what they call it, all I know is that they are building DVC on the monorail and like 10 feet from the Magic Kingdom!

We are wanting to do the same thing and are debating between 25 and 50 points, but could go with 150 instead.

On another note...

Did you guys see the article about the changes going on at The Contemporary in the Disney Files?

Are they just trying to drive us mad? :scared:

Go ahead, tell us about the changes on the 1st and 4th floors. I'm sure that is the ONLY thing going on over there. Good grief!

They just happen to choose to spotlight The Contemporary? :confused3
Get real!

I understand about Kingdom Tower, I didn't care for that name at all.

I don;t know what what wrong with Villas at the Contemporary or Contemporary Resort Villas. If they want to have somethig new, maybe Castle View Tower Or Park View Villas. But "view" could get sticky, too, if all the villas don't have a view of the park.
