We have the BCV booked for a Dec trip and A march trip. After reading all the horrible reports . We are begining to worry if we made the right choice. We had the BWV booked for our March trip but moved due to wanting to try SLB. Is there any good news about BCV or do we need try move agin?

There is plenty of good news about the BCV but most of it doesn't end up on the Dis-Boards. We own there and have stayed there a couple of times and have never had anything less than an excellent experience (we also own at the BWV and that is truthfully our favorite resort). Don't base where you stay on a few reported bad experiences on an internet discussion board. You could go to the BWV and have a bad experience just as easily. Don't worry and have fun planning.

Don't worry. There are lots of people that have a great time at BCV. Go enjoy and develop you own opinion!

Have a great vacation!

I am on a waiting list for BCV i n April- I have read alot of both positive and negative reports posted here. I still plan on going to BCV if ressies are available- can't wait to use the pool, be near epoct and the boardwalk. I hope to enjoy a vacation at BCV as much as any other. I can't wait to find out for myself which report is the truth.
LOL

I'm a very, very, very satisfied BCV owner. It's a great resort, we had a great time. We'll go back again and again.

I don't want to stay at the Old Key West Retirement Center, or at the Boardwalk with the vomiting clown in the pool. Saratoga Springs is actually NOT themed after the city in New York, but after the Saratoga cigarette. (They actually pump cigarette smoke into the rooms to enhance the theming.) VWL has a horrible tick problem. Some of these ticks have actually attacked guests, resulting in several fatalities that Disney has kept hush hush.

You definitely made the right choice with BCV. And if owners at other resorts want to try to bring it down a peg or two, it's because they can't admit the ugly truth: BCV owners leave their resort feeling more youthful, more refreshed, and with minty breath. The other DVC resorts have been proven to cause cancer. Look it up!

Sincerely,

A proud BCV owner willing to go toe to toe with the Rumormongers.

I have never posted an "outrageous" reply about BCV bashing; usually tried to stay in the "to each his own" or "try it;you'll like it" response category. But I'm fed up. We have had 4 wonderful trips "home" to BCV, and enjoyed a stay this past summer at VWL, and stayed in a studio at OKW (all have been studio stays). The experience has not varied except for decor, setting, facilities, etc. I am now beginning to suspect "BCV envy". I have not even read recent negative posts that might have prompted this query. I'm sure they are no different than what I've read before - room condition, staff attitude, inconvenience, road noise, blah, blah, blah. Unless there are two DVC/BCV properties, and I have had the good fortune to buy at the "nice" resort, I can only conclude that I've been extremely lucky so far, I'm looking at my "home" with rose-colored glasses, or that in fact there are some folks that fall prey to the psychological defense mechanism of "idealization". "What I have is so much better than the alternative (BCV) because.............. Flame away.

Adding another BCV endorsement....it is not our home resort; and we had a great stay there in a one bedroom unit....with almost 10 years in DVC and no negatives to speak of, I know some people have bad experiences but we haven't././. good luck:smooth:

I just have a question, there are many posts about BCV that people had an excellent experience, and there are many posts about people not have a great experience. Why is it only the negative posts get noticed?

People always post that they are "worried" about BCV because of all the complaints, what about the praise? (to the OP, I don't mean to single you out, I just thought this thread would be the perfect opportunity for me to ask this question).

Quite frankly, most of the BCV complaints are not worth posting IMO. I laugh at some of the things people are appalled at. I think I read once someone was less than satisfied with housekeeping when they walked into their room, and found a pen under the table.

I guess I see Disney through rose colored glasses, any DVC resort room is better than being in my cluttered home. So I would never dream of complaining about half the things that are brought up on this board. But, that is just me. I found to take some of the complaints with a grain of salt, because more times that not, the OP seems to be a person LOOKING for something to complain about. IMO.

I would not wrry about your decision to stay a BCV. Go, stay and see for yourself what the resort is like, then come back here and post about your experience, good or bad.

I own at both BWV and BCV, and have thoroughly enjoyed my stays at both. (Also stayed at OKW once a few years ago and loved that too.) When you hang around these boards long enough, you will read negative reports about each and every DVC resort. But you'll also read lots of positive reports, and you'll never hear about other positive experiences that never get posted on here. While I'm interested in hearing about everyone's experiences, whether positive or negative, I still form my own opinions by my own experiences.

Go to BCV and have a great time! Then tell us all about it when you're back. :D

I wouldn't hesitate to go ahead with your plans.

I will say that there are more negative reports about BCV here than any other resort....along with a bunch of great positive reports! I'm not sure why this is...maybe it's just become *the* resort to pick on? Maybe there's just less magic going on there (staff...hoardes of people...???)

Yes, the villas there do get a lot of use. I expect DVC resorts to be nice...but nicks on the furniture, a stain on the sofa or a stuck drawer isn't going to bother me a bit. I'd be much more inclined to complain about mildew in the tub (no hot water would bother me no matter *where* I'm staying).

I can find positives and negatives about all of the DVC resorts.
BCV looks very nice...we hope to stay there someday soon.

I would say you should look a little further and find all the positive reports too.

I have stayed there twice and no problems at all. Love it, love it, love it.

I agree go ahead and have a good time. I was worried after I made my reservations and all I had read, but I never saw anything that the ones on here complained about. I was in room 167 from 10/12-15/04. Yes, I stated road noise kept me awake because I was over-tired and am used to sleeping in the woods and not having a road right outside my bedroom. But that is just me. Doesn't mean it was bad. The other 5 people in my party including my husband, 3 kids and bil all slept fine and did not hear it. Go ahead enjoy and don't listen to the negatives. It is a beautiful resort and always will be if we treat it well and not ruin and abuse it.

The truth is... the negative reports are intended to get you to stay somewhere else ...freeing up space for those in the know...

I am an OKW owner but have stayed at BCV 5 times and have loved it every time. OKW is home and I love it, but for short visits I love a studio at BCV. To each his own, but I like BCV much better than BWV for a lot of reasons. I have never been unhappy or had a bad experience there. I wouldn't ever hesitate to stay there again.

We are also owners at BCV, since we are new to owning and have only gone once to BCV, I may not be the best to say, but we really loved it. It was a great location, the pool is awsome for small kids and adults too. The room we had was a 2 bedroom lockoff. It was fine. We had no problems.

We are going back in August and taking my inlaws, Mother and my Sister and her family.

We own an equal number of points at both BCV and BWV and our plan is to stay alternating years at each resort. We love each for different reasons. We've had good stays at both and we've had problems at each resort.

We had a great room this past April at BWV, but the queen mattress in the 2nd BR kept sliding off the bed frame. I figured out the frame had been rotated and the two pieces weren't matched or balanced. They came up and fixed the mattress...but then housekeeping made the bed in the MBR and left the sheets on the floor in the room where they should have made the bed. Then on our 5th day the doors to the balconies in both rooms were left open which was unnerving.

But despite the bumps, we still had a great time and didn't think that our experience was unusual nor that DVC was going down hill. It was a busy time of the year, the resort was packed and things happen.

On our first stay at BCV, I can't remember why - but housekeeping had to come in and clean our rugs (something was on the floor....but I don't remember what) and forgot to quick dry them with the vac. We walked in from a long day, took off our shoes and immediately had wet feet and socks. We took 2-3 slips in the kitchen on the tile floor and had to call housekeeping in to bring a pile of towels to lay on the floor before we broke a bone. Oh well...so what. They tried hard and we dealt. We were never in the room long enough for it to matter.

Have a great vacation. The pools are wonderful and the proximity to Epcot for dinners and Illuminations each night makes it all worth it.
