Can anyone share their experiences at the Westgate Resorts? I was quoted a GREAT deal and it's too hard to pass up!! I know that you must "do" the 2-hr tour. Exactly how much DO they pressure you into purchasing???!?!?!

Pros and cons about staying here....(I already have a FTP booked and still have 7 days to send in the deposit. All suggestions welcomed! )

Westgate has THE highest pressure sales tactics in the area! I know because I have done the spiel and its not something I would ever want to do again..

I'm very cautious about staying at Westgate Villas. I'm going to tell them I've already bought a DVC timeshare and hopefully just wait out the two hours with no hassles. I really hope this stops any high pressure sales pitch. We have a week in mid-august and the price is unbeatable. Time will tell and so will I after we get back. ;)

DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT!!! I'm not usually one to try & tell people what to do, but this is the exception! We stayed & so did some friends of ours & we'll never do it again! While the 2 BR was spacious, it was dirty & our friends had broken air conditioning. We found the staff to be rude & put out by any questions about amenities, directions, etc. Now for the 2 hr pitch--we get a call at 8 am (we're not supposed to go until 9) wanting us to rush over. We get there only to find a HUGE line...we try to go to the front & the women working were quite nasty. Finally, the guy that called us came out & took us in. They had "child care" for the kids. I'm sorry, but they had to be breaking some sort of code. There were wall to wall kids in there & the Spanish woman working did not speak English & was mighty nasty. I was horrified. The pitch went much longer than it was supposed to. At the 2 hr mark, I said I was done, but of course, just one more minute. Finally, he realized he was getting nowhere with us, so we were excused. However, our friends were hassled, yelled at, & one of the "big wigs" came over & threw a temper tantrum (threw down his book, nasty attitude). We promptly went to DVC (which we had visited twice before) & bought. We vowed we would never go through that again (we really had been interested b/c w/ a family of 7, we need 2 BR accomodations). We now stay at the BCV & it's wonderful. If you can, keep the FT pkg. We were so sad after the Westgate thing, we booked rooms at AKL for one night just to leave on a "Disney" note.

...thanks, guys, for the honest posts. Well, back to the drawing board....:( Does anyone have any suggestions for a NICE (doesn't have to be ULTRA posh), REASONABLE, location , near US/IOA area??!?!?!

...I think I WILL try out that link you provided....:D

i can tell you from expience -
i belong to intervalworld.
this is a timeshare. 4 years ago my family stayed at westgate vacation villas.
this was Absolutely beautiful. amenties were all there.
there were 10 pools, paddle boats, bikes tennis, volleyball.
it was all there and everything was in tip-top shape.
they did hassel me into buying .
one thing i did not like was only buyers of westgate were able to go to the poolside bbq and breakfast.
this was i think distasteful.
2 years ago we stayed at westgate lakes.
this too was very very nice. the location was not for me. this place was closer to international drive.
the villas were a mile from magic kingdom in kissamee.
much much nicer area.
i would not have gone back for the time if i did not enjoy my first visit.

...what was it that you didn't like about being close to Intn'l Drive? That's exactly where we are looking to stay. (was it because you wanted to be closer to LBV/WDW area?)

i liked the convenience of kissemmee.
int'l drive was very very busy.
there are cars everywhere.
there are all restuarants on this road and it is very congested.
it takes a while to drive around this area.
this is my opinion from experience.
