I'm looking at booking a 2017 trip and had originally had the dates of April 29th-May 6th 2017. Now I'm thinking October 14th-21st 2017. Any pros or cons on either dates?
April will have the Flower and Garden Festival while October will have Food and Wine and the Halloween parties at MK. It would depend on your preferences but we think that October is the best time to go. Especially later in the month when it finally starts to cool down a bit.
There's also the slight possibility of Free Dining in October (although not in Oct this year).
As the PP said, the main difference is what festival you're more interested in. F&G has more flowers & topiaries, with a decent amount of added food kiosks. F&W has more food kiosks but still has some topiaries. The April-May weather will likely be cooler than October. In October you can also go to MSHHP at MK.
Ha this is exactly what I was thinking when I was thinking about changing. We went at the end of September in 2014 and while it was hot and rained a lot (year it was the abnormally wet season), we LOVED MNSSHP and the fall decor. That's what is sparking my interest in another fall trip.
Going during Food and Wine would be my choice! Just a bummer though that fall in Florida doesn't mean cooler weather. We have raosted the last few years during Food and Wine!

Those are 2 of my 3 favorite times to go (other early December). This year I'm doing both but if I had to pick one it would be October. Love Food and Wine!

I would choose October - cheaper time, less crowded, Halloween party and higher chance of Pandora being open. Never know, Rivers of Light may be open by then, too
