We are looking into becoming a dvc member. WE arent sure what resort ot pick as our home resort. Animal Kingdom seems to have less points for stays but seems to be far away from things. We liked Boardwalk and Saratoga. Is there one that is easier to book and get into than any others? Any suggeestions or help please Thanks

Saratoga Springs Resort is the largest DVC resort and is typically one of the easiest to book by non-owners. Similar for OKW, the second largest.

If you like the Boardwalk area and think you would want to stay there...Its a good idea to buy there so you get the 11 month window for booking. (before all DVC owners can book there). SSR and OKW are usually always available at 7 months (at least from my experience) so you should probably look at purchasing one thats Harder to get into rather than Easier if you think you would want to use the priority window.

For instance, we bought BCV because that is where we know we want to stay. I wanted to make sure I would have the 4 month time frame 11-7months to be able to book without competing with all the DVC members.

Hope that helps.

Good luck!

I own at both key west and boardwalk and have no problem booking at okw even shorter the 7 months but trying to do that at boardwalk is nearly impossible. In fact trying to get any room at boardwalk is nearly impossible. The situation at boardwalk has at times left me with the idea of selling both units and just staying at the hotel or paying cash when I want larger space.

You need to keep in mind that "busy season" for DVC is different from "busy season" for WDW. If you like an EPCOT area resort (like the Boardwalk) and you plan on staying there in early December (a DVC busy time although not a WDW busy time), you had better own there because you won't get anything at the 7 month mark. The early booking time also allows you to book boardwalk view or standard view rooms (instead of the preferred rooms which constitute something like 60% of the rooms at BWV. On the flip side, SS has a longer contract period.

p.s. We went through what you are going through and decided on the Boardwalk Villas because we wanted the noise and excitement and the easy access to the two parks there. If you want peace and quite, there are better choices.
