I have an upcoming trip planned in October with my parents, boyfriend, and possibly my brother. We'd get either 6 or 7 day park hoppers. Currently, we have no plans to go to WDW in 2011 and I don't think it's going to change. While my boyfriend enjoys Disney, he's not nearly as obsessed with going as I am. We are heading back down to FL in February 2011 to check out Harry Potter and probably do the Backstage Magic tour. He has no interest in getting an AP and extending our trip in February. ...he does however, encourage me to get one and plan another trip for myself in 2011. (As he puts it, Disney makes me happy, sitting at home in his boxers playing video games makes him happy!)
My thinking is that I could pull off a solo trip (if my friend who's getting married next year can't go with me, or doesn't want to go) over Memorial Day Weekend or Labor Day Weekend (meaning I'd only have to take 1 or 2 days off of work.) Since I wouldn't validate my AP until Oct 2, 2010, both Memorial Day and Labor Day fall within the year time frame.
So my dilemma?
Do I bite the bullet, say I'm definitely going to go either solo or with a friend in 2011 and get the AP? Do I get the 10 Day Non-Expiration Pass so if I don't go in 2011, I didn't "waste" money? Do I not buy any tickets for 2011 until I book that trip? ...Or, do I do the "responsible" thing and decide to not go to Disney in 2011?
Obviously the AP would get a room discount, which somewhat sways me that way. Plus, I'd be able to get a TiW for our October trip, which I've already figured out would save us more than it costs. And all of the ticket options come within about $20-30 of one another, so all are feasible.
Money isn't an object, mainly because I'm planning it now and would be able to budget for the trip (which is why I'm mulling over this now!!!) So, what would you do?
...And I'm going to take a leap of faith and say that most everyone will tell me to go (after all, I am on a Disney site!
) So what hotel would you recommend? If I go, I'd like to stay somewhere I haven't stayed before, so it'd exclude: ASMu, Pop, CSR, POFQ, WL, GF, Poly, and BC. Or do I use Marriott points and stay *gasp* off property?
