Think you returned rental back full? Think again

And if it happens to not be on the 1st page? Could be a topic from weeks or months ago that I would have no clue it was talked about.

When Freeman phoned Avis to question her bill, it quickly deleted the fuel charge. But she’s unhappy with the way the technology is being used. “Not only do I think it’s unreasonable to hold the consumer to a data point we have no access to,” she says, “but I am certain that there would be no credit if I had returned the car more full than the ‘full’ I received.” (Avis says it would have credited her for any additional fuel.)

Ah, but would Avis have credited her at $9.26/gallon or whatever it was that they charged her????? I think not....

Who cares if it was already posted, just ignore it instead of just being mean!

Nothing wrong with mentioning the other thread IMO. After all there might be good info there.

I don't get this new policy at all. I rarely pick up a car completely filled up nowadays and don't know how to match what is there when I bring it back. Maybe some rental companies are better about this than others.

If you filled up or topped off within X miles of the airport as their instructions say and they still say you owe for a gallon or two, then raise a dispute immediately.

Take the stance that if they are that precise about gas usage then they need to explain to you how to be just as precise, which they probably did not do.
