Things you wish you'd never seen at Disney

On the bus to MK I watched this kid pick his nose and then eat his boogers. I wanted to vomit. I must have blacked out because his mother caught me staring at him and then realized what the kid was doing. She scolded him and that pissed off the little boy. He then decided to get back at me by sticking out his tongue at me for the rest of the ride. I blacked out again at his behavior and then his mother noticed what he was doing and finally got him under control. Gross. Disgusting.

Leaving MK through the pathway behind Main St. in the rain two paramedics walk by with a stretcher and what looks exactly like a body bag. My husband nudged me and basically said some version of "***?!?" Now we are both in healthcare, and have seen countless stretchers that actually do have a covered body, and that may be why it was so startling to see. I'm sure it was just a stretcher with medical equipment on it that needed covered from the rain, but still not what you expected to see rolling past you after Wishes!

I get breastfeeding. It's natural and blah, blah, blah... but I just don't want to be subjected to see your boob hanging out there. They make covers. Or maybe finish and THEN go on the ride, but don't do it in the middle of the ride right in front, back, or next to me. You're hot, sweaty, and gross. This happened multiple times on our past trip. One of the rides was Its A Small World. It's not like the line for that had a huge wait. You can breastfeed and then go on the ride, or vice versa! :scared:

If they were behind you, how could you see her "boob hanging out", unless you turned all the way round to get an eyeful? If she was in front of you how could you see, unless you were leaning forward, looking over her shoulder? If she was beside you, why were your eyes looking down at her boobs instead of out at the ride scenery? Plenty of other things to look at, that won't affect your sensibilities.

I've got to back TeamSy on this one. As a mother who not very long ago breastfed both of her children, sometimes in public, but ALWAYS covered and discreetly, I don't understand why whipping out a boob anytime, anywhere, is acceptable. I absolutely do not want the random person sitting next to me on a bus, ride, whatever, performing a function that involves exposing what should be private parts and bodily fluids.

Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it has to be done for everyone and their brother to see.

Shorts should be longer than lady parts!!!!! There's a meme I love that I can't post here... But it's along the lines of "I might be old fashioned but I think shorts should be longer than o_O"

Also agreed on the breastfeeding thing. Though we are all going to have to learn to disagree on this one I guess. I could never imagine a time when I would feel comfortable exposing myself to others.

When we were in WDW in August we saw many women either braless or in dire need of a new bra (one that actually supports them). Please, ladies, wear a bra.
I wasn't going to comment but after I left the thread I realized I had to come back and couldn't let this go. Before you pass judgement on those going braless consider this as a possibility. I wore a bra until my early 40's about 10 years ago. Im now in my 50's and I never ever wear a bra. I certainly sag more than I used to and I don't care if someone doesn't like that one bit. I went through breast cancer and have had a number of biopsies and a couple of lumpectomies on both along with radiation and anything putting pressure on certain areas on my breasts is uncomfortable. I tried a number of bras and none worked for me and this does and I'm aware of other women who have chosen to do the same. I mention this simply because there are some women who might feel upset by stares etc if there are those passing judgement. For me well "frankly I don't give a damn " and if someone doesn't like it ...too bad !

Because some women just need.....attention. Thank you to all the classy mothers out there who breastfeed discreetly.

I could absolutely see wearing a bra as being an issue here. Dark colored, non-fitted shirts will usually do the trick and no one will ever even tell.

When we don't give a darn about what others think, we must understand they don't have to give a darn about upsetting us and are equally able to not give a darn themselves. There are ways to go bra-less which still keep a woman appropriately covered. I dont think the person who made that comment was talking about someone in your situation because I would guess if a bra hurt you, a tight shirt would too and you dont sound like someone who would wear a white t shirt to scream 'look at me'.

While I don't disagree with anything you've said(esp the part about tight tops...I now buy all tops 2 sizes larger than I need) I had the impression the poster I responded to wasn't talking simply about those who were wearing tight or provocative tops but rather those who the poster felt needed to wear "support" bras because of sagging etc. Perhaps I was wrong and if so I have no difficulty with the comments made. I take exception to those who seem to think it is simply sacrilegious to go without a bra period whether one is being showy or not and trust me there are those who do feel that way. I guess what Im saying is if im wearing no bra, and someone can tell Im not because Im not 20 any longer :) but nothing can be seen other than age related changes...lol, imho it is no one's business but my own.

Disney World is HOT. Sometimes the baby center is on the other side of the park, and there's no way anyone should have to feed a baby in a smelly bathroom stall. :sad2: I'd hate for a baby to have to either go hungry or eat with a cover over their little head in the heat just to avoid offending people who can't avert their eyes. A long, dark, cool ride seems like a great option.

What's the difference between cabbage and boogers?

Children won't eat cabbage.

If you genuinely blacked out at the sight of a child picking its nose and eating what it finds in there, then you're Ned Flanders and I claim my $5 :) Oh and just make sure you're not driving an ECV at WDW when you're blacking out upon seeing the contents of someone's nose ;) We don't need a repeat of The Hindenburg disaster.

O.K...nothing like what you guys have seen but we were walking down by the water one day, saw a mom duck with 4 ducklings crossing the sidewalk in front of us....SWOOP, down comes a hawk and scoops up one of the ducklings! I think I was tramatized!

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

You're brave to take on the breastfeeding brigade! I nurse my child and choose to do so discreetly in public. I have a highly distractable baby and we need to
be far away from noise and distraction. It's just my preference because my baby is comfortable and so am I. It's not always as simple as "just cover up!" though. Babies know. Would you want to eat your lunch or dinner under a blanket? Especially when it's hot out like it is the majority of the time at WDW? Probably not so much. And when a baby needs to eat, they need to eat NOW, really regardless of where you are. I used to judge people much more for this until I had my own baby I was nursing and realized why many women choose to nurse in public without cover, wherever and whenever.

I personally chose to breastfeed as privately as possible but that was what worked for the people actually involved (me and the baby) not random people who were staring at my chest. Unless you are fixated on the process, you really don't see anything.

Agreed. I edited my post for clarification. I nurse in public discreetly, mostly because my baby needs to be far away from noise and distraction. It works for us. Trying to feed her under a cover with hustle and bustle around just ends up with flailing arms and legs :)

Ok, now my "wish I never saw this!" scenario.

On a dark packed bus, on the way home from MK. Standing. Hear someone puking. No idea where it was coming from ... Until the lights came on. Lots of ewws and screams from people who unknowingly in the line of fire. Super gross.

I agree with this.
