Things you wish could be guaranteed.

I have never made my reservations through the special reserv. number and have had ZERO problems once I got to the resort (all Coronado).

I have to have a roll-in shower, no ifs, ands, or buts. They have always supplied. I had never even heard of that other number until I came to the DIS. I always used the 407-WDISNEY number (or whatever it is). We always take our confirmation papers with us saying we are supposed to get an accessible room w/ a roll-in shower.

You'd better believe I would raise cain if something went wrong. They would be finding me a room I need somewhere QUICK. I am paraplegic, meaning I cannot walk. A tub with bars does me absolutely no good and couldn't bathe the entire trip. LOL, not an option!!!

I wish bedrails could be guaranteed. We have had problems getting them at several resorts (OKW, GF, All Star, etc) and I would even be willing to pay a fee to insure we'd have them.

Also non-smoking would be nice.

I'm planning our fourth annual trip to the world for Sept 2006. We just returned from POR/SOG/CR in March 2005. What things do you wish could be guaranteed at room reservation? My recent situation is that I just booked AKL for 11 nights and asked for a bunk bed/queen room and was told it wouldn't be guaranteed. I will have a 14 yr old DD and 8 yr old DS. There is NO WAY she's going to share a queen bed with her brother so if I don't get one then we are going to have to make special arrangements somehow. We specifically booked AKL because of the fact that the kids could have seperate beds. Of course we are going during value season so there should be a bunk bed room available but I sure wish they could take some of the surprise out of it and make it be a category of room somehow so that you could specifically book that room type.

I realize that things like floor, building etc can't be guaranteed but as long as it's the same amenities that you booked ie savannah view you are still going to have a great vacation.. even if you have the inconvenience of having to walk far to the food court. But it will really dampen things if your teenage DD has to sleep with her little brother for almost two weeks :earboy2: Oh well at least it will be Disney!

I think smoking requests should be guaranteed. I also think that the Contemporary tower should seperate the tower into Magic Kingdom and non-Magic Kingdom views, and book them as such. I also agree that bedding (king, queen, full, bunk) should be guaranteed.

Other than that, I think it's all good! :)

I agree with you 100%. I'd have paid extra for a King bed if I had the opportunity. But that was just a 'request', which wasn't 'honored'. Thanks.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was this. Don't worry about your kids sleeping together for the entire two weeks. If they don't have bunks available for you on Day 1, they'll almost certainly move you into a bunk room as soon as one becomes available, which will probably be the following day. I know this is an inconvenience, but it seems to outweigh the alternative. Just remember to ask nicely and dela with whatever view you get.

I really think that some requests are simply non-negotiable. An accessible room or a connecting room when there are young children should not be at the 'convenience' of the CM. If I checked in and didn't have these requests honored, I would persist until my needs were met. I do believe that the squeaky wheel theory comes into play here, and I think that if the potential safety problems (ie liability problems) for disney were politely pointed out to the manager on duty, they would very quickly find you what you need.

I have to have a non-smoking room....there is no option because we both have asthma.

We have to have a king sized bed. There is no squeezing us into a double, because Gabby will end up on the floor before dawn. I also refuse to sleep in a separate bed.

Other than these two things, it's all just about getting a room on property that is clean, safe, air conditioned, and bug free. Maggie

I would actually like to see my room request be guaranteed and not a request. I would like this to be tied into a system where those who book early etc. would have their "requests" filled into a guarantee. For example, if you book a year ahead and request such and such bldg. etc. versus someone who books 2 months out and you both check in on the same date, I feel the person who booked well in advance and made the requests should be honored first.

I think access rooms should be guaranteed. Like someone said how are you going to take a shower if you can't get out of the chair and are in a regular room. Non smoking / smoking should be guarantee. would be nice if they could guarantee a specific floor and view.

Access rooms are guaranteed. You simply need to call them in, CRO checks with Guest Services for availability - and they then guarantee it on your reservation. :)

Connecting rooms have also been guaranteed for us. We are 5, and with the 3 kids staying in the room "next door", when I have requested connecting at ASMo I was told it's guaranteed when there are only children in the 2nd room. Last time I was told this was 2002, though. Maybe it's changed now.

have always been guaranteed for my DD. We have gotten them at AKL, BC, YC, BWI, CR, ASSp, and the Swan.

They still say that...and they still write it as "Guaranteed Connecting Rooms for Families" in that instance, but it does not alway happen anyway...I was told by the highest person I could complain to that they TRY to take it case by case, but that it is never guaranteed. In our case, they did say Sorry. That made it all better. NOT.

Landmark. Did you tell the agent your situation? If not please call them and tell them so they can note your reservation. The hotel will take care of your request cause they get this situation all the time.

If there are no more than 2 adults in the party they will gtd connecting rooms. However if there are 3 adults or more in the party they will not. It will then be noted as a request. :jumping1:

Or they will put it on your confirmation as "guaranteed" and yet still not give it to you. I was just there in March+April.

This year I requested a non-smoking room for a medical condition, and they said it would be guaranteed! I hope so!!
