Things we MUST do?

Hi again!
So, I've asked advice about flying with DS at 18 months, but now I'm back with another question. With less than 2 weeks before we go I'm busy planning. I want us to go with realistic expectations, and want a list of things that DS will really love and that we will do regardless of what else happens!

So - if you've been to WDW with a very active toddler - what were the biggest hits, and what should I not even attempt?

When DD was 14 months I remember her liking The Lion King show (really!!), Spectromagic parade at MK, the characters - once she had got used to them - and the children's area at BB where she could sit and play with the water.

We took her to Fantasyland and Toon Town for the children's rides.

I enjoyed a rest in the baby care centres!

I'm sure you'll soon find what suits

The little ones love the fountains at DTD but I dont know if they are working all year round. There is also a little train at DTD on a track which they like too.

Obviously lots in the parks too

Owen was 16 months when we went in August last year and due to the heat we had to come back to the hotel nearly every day so he could sleep and then went out again later.
He didn't like the characters at all and would get upset if they came near him but he loved everything else.
At Magic Kingdom we took him on Snow White - this didn't bother him at all as I think he was too young to be frightened by it, The Tiki Rooms, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear, It's a Small World and Mickey's Philamagic.
At EPCOT he loved the Living Seas, Journey into Imagination, Universe of Energy and Spaceship Earth and enjoyed the little ride in Norway and Mexico.
AKL he loved everything here and at Hollywood Studios he did Toy Story Mania, the backlot tour (which was really for oldest DS) and Lights, Camera, Action we missed the Playhouse Disney bits due to lunch and then him napping.
The best thing to do is be led by your little one. Our oldest DS had just turned 2 on his first trip and as it was December and less busy he did nearly everything and loved it, even the characters.
My advice is to take time to watch your little one as your memories will be made from the picture on their little face!

Our DS Jack was 19 months when we went last August. He was not keen on the characters but did like meeting the Playhouse Disney characters at Hollywood and Vine lunch.

His favourite rides were Toy Story Mania (he laughed hilariously every time the car 'shot off' to another challenge!), small world, Pooh ride, Nemo ride at Epcot. He enjoyed most of the things he went on, and enjoyed tme out at Pooh's Playful spot, although it got hot there later in the day.

DS loved the TTA in the magic kingdom when he was a toddler. He and I rode it over and over while we waited for DD and DH.
He still loves that ride!

I would try some of the gentle rides at the Fantasyland area, the Carousel, Dumbo, Peter Pan and Winnie The Pooh.

With a child that age some of the other children's rides may not be suitable.
