How is it a personal insult when said poster is not bald? My dad is bald. Completely. And he looks awesome! He looks weird with hair. But to say that a woman cutting her hair is a deal breaker is just as ridiculous. This poster is a shallow pig. Now ThAT is personal.

DH is messy in the kitchen, and in the bathroom.

After I cook, I always wipe down the counter top and sink. He doesn't. Drives me batty.

In the bathroom, he always hangs up his used towel really crooked (sounds silly, I know), and when he shaves, he gets those little beard hairs all over the counter-top and sink, and doesn't bother to clean them up.

We would never get divorced over silly things like this though.

Except he's being serious. He's coming off as a chauvinistic pig and men like that really bother me because they alone are responsible for the completely backwards standards of beauty and all the girls with low self esteem because they can't reach it.

And I didn't have to stalk him. His picture is right there as his avatar for everyone to see. It saddens me how many wonderful girls he may have misses out on simply because they weren't skinny enough or had too short hair or weren't wearing heels. Good for them for dodging such a bullet but sad and lonely for him. Which any shallow person deserves.

I actually think that women are way more critical of themselves and other women than men are. Girls are so much meaner to each other than men are to them. Been to a middle or high school lately?

Men may have some general physical attributes they prefer, but inside of their guidelines, I find them to be pretty flexible.

For the record it took me 20 years to convert DH from Skippy (yuck) to Laura Scudders Natural or Trader Joes natural - crunchy is preferred but I buy smooth for DD who refuses to eat crunchy because she is a pain in the neck that way, just like her father

He didn't say he needed a skinny girl. Frankly, I find too skin just as unappealing as overweight in women.

It's his opinion of beauty. If you don't like it, teach your kids what you want them to think of beauty. I'm. It a fan of girls trying to be models as its unrealistic but I'm also not a fan of America being an obese nation because we make excuses and tell people big is beautiful.

Again, you're clearly bringing some personal issues into this. There are plenty of women around that are fit, won't wear anything but heals, and have long flowing locks. And he digs that. There's also plenty of men that prefer girls who play sports and relax in sweat pants without make up. Different strokes.

I agree, though I think Aviator is either, not coming across how he wants to, or appearance (and certain aspects of appearance) is way more important to him than to most men.

Well, two things. First, no one can effect your self esteem except for you. It is called self esteem, not projected from other people esteem. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one person finds attractive another won't and vice versa. No one will be beautiful to everyone. If you are confident in yourself you can take someone not finding you attractive. People give way too much power to others to influence their self-worth and it is ridiculous. However, that is a whole different thread and I don't want to get in some sort of battle over self-esteem.

Second, if he is missing out on wonderful girls that is his loss, not theirs. I'm not sure why you'd be angry with him for only hurting himself. You are a bit overly involved in his views.
