Things I just do not understand..

I think they want tipping discussion confined to one thread. I was just reading another thread that got closed because it had drifted into a discussion of tipping and personal tipping habits. Not the first one either. I just wondered why they're so strict about where and how tipping should be discussed.

Because they got sick of having to edit the threads. Tipping discussions can get quite ugly.

LOL.

I read that and couldn't remember ever saying it - but it sounds like something I might say, so I just assumed I must have. :D

At first, I did multi-quote both you and soccerdad72. When I went to reply, I decided not to quote you and tried to delete your quote, but somehow I must have messed up the formatting.

I'll try again.

People too lazy to return a shopping cart to a proper location that just leave it in the parking lot.

.

What's not to understand? You've got to realize that there are 1000's of legitimate excuses NOT to return a shopping cart to the corral. For example:

People may be running late to catch the Toby Tyler movie marathon on TV.

People are afraid their frozen vegan meals may start to thaw.

They've got to rush to save a toddler from the jaws of a ferocious alligator.

They have to study for their exam about imaginary numbers.

They're anxious to see if the names of their honor students were published in the local paper.

Etc. etc. etc.

As for quiche-eater, I admit my man card was suspended for 10 years when I tried quiche in a fern bar in the mid 1980s. I'll never make that mistake again.

( I've also tried tofu. :o)

I do think it would be interesting to have one thread where the gloves could come off, I agree with a PP who observed that the matter of giving out "warning" points and suspensions from posting is done pretty arbitrarily and depends a lot on the moderator's particular viewpoint.

Seeing as how there is no way to know everyone that got points vs everyone that didn't that statement cannot be corroborated. As such, it is nothing more than blaming the moderator instead of admitting the truth that they broke the rules and deserved it.

Why golfers have nothing at all to talk about except their golf stories whenever they see me even though I have no interest whatsoever - and have made that crystal clear.

... and "no", prefacing your story with, "I know you don't care for golf, but you'll appreciate this" does not make your story any more interesting.

I know you don't care for golf, but let me tell you what Uncle Tex did to a deer on the 8th.

Uh no. I'm out of here!!!

You mentioned Toby Tyler. . . all is forgiven and forgotten.

Go in peace.

;)

If people would become proficient at backing in, it actually makes much more sense. It's the only way that you can get in and out of a space while always having full view of traffic.

For backing in to work, parking spots have to be wider and so does the row between them.

Alright, folks, this is a pretty fun topic to discuss but I am going to remind you to keep our site guidelines in mind. Especially number 9 as pictured below. :thanks:

Show me the square route of -1 pieces of pie. ;)

Easy.
First separate the pie into pi and e.
Multiple the reciprocal of pi by the cubed root of e.
Raise to the negative power of Avogadro's number.
Divide the whole mess by zero.
Voila!!

Oh, sorry, you wanted me to SHOW you the square root of -1 pieces of pie. OK, here ya go.

Now I know why you can't divide by zero - the plate will break!
