Myself, my wife and our two children, ages 1.5 and almost 4 leave for WDW in three weeks, we will be staying for 2 weeks.
We recently decided to take my two nieces (age 14 and 16) with us for the first couple of days. We will all be arriving on saturday and my nieces will be leaving on a 4:00 flight on tuesday.

Every year they go they say they would be more than happy to come with us and help with our two children. Well this year we are going to surprise them and actually take them with us. We haven't told them yet, so if anyone can think of any creative ideas to break the news that would be great.

Now, they each have a two day park hopper, so the first day (arrival day) we will not be going to a park and will just hang around DTD and go out to dinner and settle in. So that leaves two park days and one non-park day, anyone have any ideas of things the teenagers would enjoy on tht non-park day? We will have a rental so it can be off site.

Before we go I think I am going to have them write down one ride that they really really want to do, one restaurant they want to go to and one thing outside of the parks they want to do and try to do as much if not all of that that we can while they are there, after all we will still have 1.5 weeks left after they go! Thanks for any ideas you can give!

The list is a good idea. Being girls they might enjoy shopping. Have they been to WDW before there might be a resturant they have wanted to try or a resort they might want to check out. Riding the monorail is always fun on your first day. Go see the Electrical Water Parade at WL, Poly, CR or GF.

If you asked me to write down one ride I had to do, I'd probably lose it trying to figure it out, because there's never just one ride! ;)

Sunbathing and swimming can be very relaxing - water-skiing, boat rentals, and other great things are all in your hotel...or you could venture to Winter-Summerland for mini-golf ;)

Non park day -

Miniature golf at Fantasia.

Renting boats on Seven Seas Lagoon.

Downtown Disney.

They might enjoy Old Town Kissimmee. It's carnival type rides and tacky shops but it's decent for a night out.

As for springing the surprise, I'd make up an invitation from Mickey (or their individual favorite character) and then snail mail it to them. Something like "You are invited to join your Aunt and Uncle and Cousins at this date and this time, please RSVP by filling out your favorite attraction, favorite restaurant, and one other fav thing to do". Then give your email address.
