Some things I noticed on our last cruise in November of 24.
No navigator but on the phone. I don’t go on vacation to be looking at my phone all day😳 should be able to get one as a option.

No welcome show in the theater
No invite to palo in my Fish Finder
No water offered to us at lunch the first day
No fancy drinks the first day
No trading cards
No pin trading times
No mile walk pin handouts

I,am sure there is more Thoughts ! Comment!

You can request paper navigators at guest services.

They still try to sell water packages the first day at lunch.

Use to be captains reception for castaway gold and up for 7 night stays and up ...now it is 8.

After pirate show buffet. Even though we were still stuffed from dinner they had the most delicious
chocolate strawberries.

They use to have these big pretzels with cream cheese inside on pool deck. Been years since I have
seen them.

You should move the thread to the main cruise board...as this is the trip reports forum

I recently sailed on the Disney Fantasy (March 2025) and it has been nearly 10 years since I last cruised with Disney and I was surprised at the changes. The most shocking change to me was that DCL no longer offers dinner at Cabanas buffet. I was also surprised that they no longer have an art gallery store which was replaced by another jewelry store. Several other changes I noticed have to deal with changes from DVC member services on the ship.

I miss the option of the buffet for dinner, and yes there used to be character breakfast.

It's my understanding that Cabana's used to be open for dinner, but it was not a buffet. I thought it was a sit-down, table-service meal but with an assorted menu similar to the MDRs.

Sometimes, I'm need something quick and flexible. I wish they would bring on a Cabanas dinner buffet.

Most of you won’t remember these things. I miss Scoops on deck 9 outside of Cabanas on the Magic. It was hard scopped ice cream with toppings - M&Ms, Cookie crumbs, choc sauce, etc. The also had fruit all afternoon along with trays of chocolate chip cookies. Cake of the day on the room service menu when it was actual cake and not little pots of cake like stuff. The buffet in Cabanas used to have desserts that were full size cakes that were sliced and you took a slice of cake, self serve. There were also jello/puddings and other desserts. The cake actually tasted like cake!

I don’t care anymore personally since my kids are grown, but I liked it when they took the kids in the club to lunch and dinner. Lunch was at Animators Palate and Dinner was at Cabanas buffet where one side was set up for the kids. No other buffet provided for adults. I don’t think Cabanas dinner was a thing at that point.

The room service menu had entrees on it. Lasagna, good pizza, really good cheeseburgers. Multiple salads and soups. I remember when they tried to take off the All Hands on Deck from the menu. Such an uproar that it was put back on.

Prior to the snack shack at the movie theaters, there was popcorn on the room sesrvice menu. It was an upcharge but it was only like $2.50 for a big bag of popcorn. I can’t remember the name but it is the one in the black bag. It was about the same price as getting it in the grocery store. My kids ordered that several times when they were in the room by themselves and I found out about the charges later!

The Castaway Cllub meeting was always nice in the past. Food, drinks, interaction with the crew. It was held in the nightclub area and wasn’t crowded. Now it is held in the auditorium and is like a drive by with the officers and drink. No food anymore. I got to know a lot of officers at that gathering.

I also miss the galley tours. That was a fun sea day adventure.

I miss the old days of DCL

So sad to read this.... Each one of these things seems more magical than the next!

Cabanas was always buffet for dinner!!! We sailed Magic, Wonder, Fantasy between 2006-2015- the kids loved eating at Cabana's buffet- are we stuck only with sit down dining in rotational themed dining? No other buffet offered?

Cabanas sure wasn’t a buffet when I sailed. So was it in addition to the rotations dining? I have a vague recollection of one of the dining rooms that was very tropical, having a buffet? Sailed in the Magic a lot.

The original dining room was Parrot Cay and it was on both the Magic and the Wonder. It was a tropical themed restaurant that featured Caribbean type food. Then it was changed to Carioca’s on the Magic but still with the Caribbean food. It did have a buffet area and it was used during embarkation lunch and for breakfast. It was removed during one of the renovations. The Dream also had a buffet in Enchanted Garden but that was removed during one of the dry docks. I assume the Fantasy had one too but I don’t remember it.

Yeah. Parrots! Very festive. Good vibe. I think this is the buffet in Enchanted Garden. I swear it’s still there but not used. Way in the back with the blue lights?
