Hey D,
Are you doing intervals with the Galloway program? I wouldn't worry about your time. I run with my best friend, her husband and my husband. They all run a ten minute mile or less. I can't keep up with that! I just think to myself that at least I'm out there running!! You're doing awesome!!
Glad to hear that V is still crocheting. I love making baby blankets. I have about six finished. just waiting for someone to have a baby!! Tell V to check out Ravelry. They have a ton of free patterns.
Have a great day.
Hi Niki!... I am going to say your name forever, so I don't forget. (I'll probably forget...

)
I am not doing intervals yet... Right now, I am just working on running... I figure - once I get through winter and into spring, I'll start working on intervals, fartleks (are they the same?) and such.

I do want to improve my speed - some day - but I guess, to me it isn't as important as just
doing it in the first place.

That is my thought too - I just want to be out there, and know my body can do it - eventually, I want to be at a place where I wouldn't get swept... I will get there, but I just want to take my time. I am hoping to do a few small races this fall - for no other reason than just the experience of doing them.
Hehehe... Hopefully the babies come soon, so you can make more. I have told her about Ravelry in the past - I will remind her again... Right now, she is really into doing her drawings... So she hasn't been crocheting in the last week or so.
Thank you - you too!
I hope that is turns out to just be a dehydration thing since all your tests were perfect.
Thank you, me too... It's quite scary. But each day that passes, which I am fine, makes me hopeful that it was a fluke dehydration thing.
Glad al your results came back ok. With the heat- could totally be hydration. From my experience if you are doing anything other than drinking water throughout the day- you aren't hydrating enough lol.
You are too funny with your running rate. I have the same issue. When DH and I go for a walk- so romantic- he will literally be 100 ft away from me and I'll be like ummm I thought we were going for a walk TOGETHER?
Yes, it could be dehydration... I like to think it's unlikely - but it is possible. And it makes much more sense to me than some sort of hidden heart abnormality.
Well, I don't drink anything, ever - except for water. Um... Take that back. I drink 1 cup of coffee every morning and
occasionally one cup in the afternoons (if the girls and I make a Starbucks pit-stop)... but I've really been trying to get a handle on that second cup lately. But no soda or any other drinks for me - not for years. Just water. Which is why I tend to think that I am pretty OK on the hydration front... Except for maybe in the mornings - since I don't drink water through the night, and instead of water in the morning - I have coffee. But... I've been hydrating and excercising this way for years now, with out issue... I know that running needs more hydration - but this dizzy spell did occur once after heavy lifting - and that's been constant in my life for 2 years now.

I am a bit stumped. HOpefully it was a fluke thing... I will be paying much closer attention to my hydration levels in the morning and see how that goes.
Hehehe... Yah - I laughed at Gus for the first 1/4 mile and begged him to run so I didn't look like a fool... So he ran, but he was in front of me with 2 steps. So, I opted to look like a fool. LOL It was fun to have someone with me... I wish the girls would run with me.
I'm glad you didn't have any dizziness during/after your run last night, and I'm also glad that Gus was with you -- just in case. And I have to know -- what the heck are haggerty potatoes?????
Yes, it was a relief to have someone with me, really it was. Gus didn't know that there was an alterior motive for him being there, although he probably could have guessed - though I don't think any of the kids realize how potentially serious this could be?
Haggerty potatoes... Yum... I discovered them at a restaurant Josh and I went to for Valentine's day this year... There are lots of recipes for these online - but none of them are close to what these were. So, I've recreated what their recipe appeared to be...
Lots of yellow potatoes, cut into chunks roughly 1 - 1.5" cubed (I leave the skins on) and I do LOTS of potatoes, because they are loved by everyone.
Put them into a larger mixing bowl and dump some olive oil on top - enough to so you mix the potatoes in, and they are coated with olive oil.
Line a large cookie sheet with tin foil, then I spray it down with olive oil spray. Put potatoes on in a single later - salt and pepper to taste - and add chunks of bacon around the pan - I usually use approx 1/2 lb.and bake at 350° for approx an hour... They should be done, and slightly crisp/brown on the outside
On your plate, add the potatoes... Then add sliced GREEN onions and sour cream... Mix them up... Sooo good. They are like a crispy loaded baked potato.
So, 5 ingredients. YELLOW potatoes, bacon, olive oil, GREEN onions and sour cream.
I'm glad you didn't have problems with dizziness last night. It could very well be a hydration issue. My mom used to get dizzy when she got dehydrated.
My daughter is doing the color run on friday night at the local city fest. Her husband doesn't understand why someone would deliberately get dirty. We supposed to walk on the greenway trail tonight if it doesn't decide to rain.
Have a good day.
Liz
Thanks Liz - yes, me too! I guess I am starting to think it could be a hydration issue - because that is what makes the most sense of anything. I am going to keep a close eye on it.
Yay for your daughter - I hope she has fun! I know that many people love doing those!
I hope you were able to get out for a walk last night.
You too - thank you!
Oh my gosh! Hysterical! I feel the same way walking next to my 6ft2 hubby. I'm practically running just to keep up with his slow walk. It almost makes me feel like a child. Darn it! Lol
As far as your dizzy spells, just be careful when you go on rides during your trip. Do you ever get dizzy spells at Valley fair? My mom had a vertigo spell so bad, she was in the hospital for 2 weeks. It was mind boggling as they never did find out why it happened.
A Disneyworld marathon! You go girl!
All caught up! Toodles!
Hahaha... I know... I was super embarassed - but oh well. I always assume that people have no idea how slow I am really going, because I am by myself... They knew the other night. LOL
Nope - no dizzy spells at Valleyfair... I get dizzy on the tilt-a-whirl and such, but that's just for the duration of the ride... I am better by the time I crawl off. That is so scary - I hope she is OK now!
We'll see... I want to do a half marathon for sure - I am not sure I have any desire to do a full marathon... It just seems like there is SO much more to that, not only physical on your body, but so much more dedication, and I am not sure I am at that point? Who knows? Maybe once I do a half - I'll want to push myself to a full? But we'll see.
Thanks for stopping by - as always - it's great to see you!
Yeah for good results and in case Ive never mentioned I had been running for 2 years before my running partner told me that she was literally fast walking when I first began and I was running...well giving it my all. It gets better, it gets easier, it happens but it takes time. I think I was 18 months into serious training before I really noticed my timing changes. Like I said just keep moving, it does get better! After taking almost 5 full years off of serious training I was shocked I could even run a 12 minute mile. Granted it was only 3 miles but it was a run back in the books. I am getting excited and praying the weather is nice so I can get hubby to do some Labor Day runs with me at the lake! I may have to do a 2nd marathon if you ever talk your self into it! Still crossing my fingers we get to meet up in the cities! The kids just told me tonight I HAVE to take them to Bubba Gumps for dinner lol!
Hahahaha... I shouldn't laugh - but i feel your pain. I do have the desire to better my pace, but more than anything - I just want to run and enjoy the process and the fact that I can do it. I don't think I will really work on my pace much until next spring/summer - if it's something I am still interested in.
Yay for getting runs back in the books after so long off - that is awesome!

So proud of you!
As long as you still come up - I will make it work... Even if it's just a quick coffee somewhere.

I wouldn't miss it.
Hahaha... Bubba Gumps... That was Suzi, Mo and I's favorite restaurant while they were here... Actually - it's my preferred place to eat at the MOA when we go.

I'll happily meet you there, if it works out with your schedule - however - I usually do lunch there, and not dinner.
I'm glad to hear that Gus went with you for a run. It's good to hear that the dizziness hasn't come back.
We will meet you on Wednesday 2nd September at 10AM (the place where we are meeting has not changed). Since we booked the hotel a long time ago we will stick to our plan. We will take a look at Minneapolis while we wait.
Nothing exciting has happened today. The only thing that happened was that we went between two timezones a couple of times. The first time we went over Missouri river we passed a sign saying that we went into a new timezone. But the next couple of times we didn't see any signs. The only reason we knew that we had come in a new timezone was that our GPS changed the time.
We are now spending the night in Minot,ND. Tomorrow we will go to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We bought an Annual Pass for all the National Parks. Since we are planning to visit more than 2 parks the cheapest ticket was the Annual Pass. We did the same thing the last time we were in the USA in 2013.
Yes, we are still meeting at the same place.

Just 30 minutes earlier in the day.
I am trying to think of something fun to do in the Minneapolis area... There is Ft. Snelling... That might be enjoyable? It does cost $$ to get into, but lots of history. YOu could always do more of the MOA too? Oooh - the State Fair is going on while you are here!!! That is always fun!!! But it's a total MAD HOUSE! Again - costs $$ but it's a huge deal here in MN and known as one of the best State Fairs in the nation... Lots of food and unique to MN stuff. It's an idea - but just be prepared for HUGE crowds if you go.

That takes place in St. Paul...

Looking forward to seeing you!

So, I went on Allison's photoshoot with her yesterday, it was a lot of fun and she got a lot of pictures!
I came home to discover that something happened to corrupt my photoshop editing program... And we can't find the original disk to re-install it. I am just sick... I use this program for a lot of stuff with my business - like when I write auctions... So, today will be spent gutting my office and praying I find it. I wish I could put into words how devistating this is - even Josh doesn't understand... though he is doing everything he can to help fix it - including resetting the computer to a few days ago, and losing half of his information that he's done over the last few days. Sigh... Which didn't work.
Today, I will also be starting my next custom order. I think I will do that first... so I don't fall behind in my sewing room. Then I will work on ripping apart the office this afternoon.
No more dizzy spells - but in all fairness... I did not work out at all yesterday - aside from hiking around the park with Allison yesterday morning.
I will be doing my WATP this morning too... I decided to take this week off from heavy lifting. Then a short run tonight.
That's about all... Nothing else exciting.
I hope you all have a great day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you!
