I'm glad you didn't have any dizziness during/after your run last night, and I'm also glad that Gus was with you -- just in case. And I have to know -- what the heck are haggerty potatoes?????

I'm glad you didn't have problems with dizziness last night. It could very well be a hydration issue. My mom used to get dizzy when she got dehydrated.
My daughter is doing the color run on friday night at the local city fest. Her husband doesn't understand why someone would deliberately get dirty. We supposed to walk on the greenway trail tonight if it doesn't decide to rain.
Have a good day.
Liz

Oh my gosh! Hysterical! I feel the same way walking next to my 6ft2 hubby. I'm practically running just to keep up with his slow walk. It almost makes me feel like a child. Darn it! Lol
As far as your dizzy spells, just be careful when you go on rides during your trip. Do you ever get dizzy spells at Valley fair? My mom had a vertigo spell so bad, she was in the hospital for 2 weeks. It was mind boggling as they never did find out why it happened.
A Disneyworld marathon! You go girl!
All caught up! Toodles!

Yeah for good results and in case Ive never mentioned I had been running for 2 years before my running partner told me that she was literally fast walking when I first began and I was running...well giving it my all. It gets better, it gets easier, it happens but it takes time. I think I was 18 months into serious training before I really noticed my timing changes. Like I said just keep moving, it does get better! After taking almost 5 full years off of serious training I was shocked I could even run a 12 minute mile. Granted it was only 3 miles but it was a run back in the books. I am getting excited and praying the weather is nice so I can get hubby to do some Labor Day runs with me at the lake! I may have to do a 2nd marathon if you ever talk your self into it! Still crossing my fingers we get to meet up in the cities! The kids just told me tonight I HAVE to take them to Bubba Gumps for dinner lol!

I'm glad to hear that Gus went with you for a run. It's good to hear that the dizziness hasn't come back.

We will meet you on Wednesday 2nd September at 10AM (the place where we are meeting has not changed). Since we booked the hotel a long time ago we will stick to our plan. We will take a look at Minneapolis while we wait.

Nothing exciting has happened today. The only thing that happened was that we went between two timezones a couple of times. The first time we went over Missouri river we passed a sign saying that we went into a new timezone. But the next couple of times we didn't see any signs. The only reason we knew that we had come in a new timezone was that our GPS changed the time.
We are now spending the night in Minot,ND. Tomorrow we will go to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We bought an Annual Pass for all the National Parks. Since we are planning to visit more than 2 parks the cheapest ticket was the Annual Pass. We did the same thing the last time we were in the USA in 2013.

Hey D,

Are you doing intervals with the Galloway program? I wouldn't worry about your time. I run with my best friend, her husband and my husband. They all run a ten minute mile or less. I can't keep up with that! I just think to myself that at least I'm out there running!! You're doing awesome!!

Glad to hear that V is still crocheting. I love making baby blankets. I have about six finished. just waiting for someone to have a baby!! Tell V to check out Ravelry. They have a ton of free patterns.

Have a great day.

Hi Niki!... I am going to say your name forever, so I don't forget. (I'll probably forget... :scratchin)

I am not doing intervals yet... Right now, I am just working on running... I figure - once I get through winter and into spring, I'll start working on intervals, fartleks (are they the same?) and such. :thumbsup2 I do want to improve my speed - some day - but I guess, to me it isn't as important as just doing it in the first place. ::yes:: That is my thought too - I just want to be out there, and know my body can do it - eventually, I want to be at a place where I wouldn't get swept... I will get there, but I just want to take my time. I am hoping to do a few small races this fall - for no other reason than just the experience of doing them.

Hehehe... Hopefully the babies come soon, so you can make more. I have told her about Ravelry in the past - I will remind her again... Right now, she is really into doing her drawings... So she hasn't been crocheting in the last week or so.

Thank you - you too!

I hope that is turns out to just be a dehydration thing since all your tests were perfect.

Thank you, me too... It's quite scary. But each day that passes, which I am fine, makes me hopeful that it was a fluke dehydration thing. :thumbsup2

Glad al your results came back ok. With the heat- could totally be hydration. From my experience if you are doing anything other than drinking water throughout the day- you aren't hydrating enough lol.

You are too funny with your running rate. I have the same issue. When DH and I go for a walk- so romantic- he will literally be 100 ft away from me and I'll be like ummm I thought we were going for a walk TOGETHER?

Yes, it could be dehydration... I like to think it's unlikely - but it is possible. And it makes much more sense to me than some sort of hidden heart abnormality.

Well, I don't drink anything, ever - except for water. Um... Take that back. I drink 1 cup of coffee every morning and occasionally one cup in the afternoons (if the girls and I make a Starbucks pit-stop)... but I've really been trying to get a handle on that second cup lately. But no soda or any other drinks for me - not for years. Just water. Which is why I tend to think that I am pretty OK on the hydration front... Except for maybe in the mornings - since I don't drink water through the night, and instead of water in the morning - I have coffee. But... I've been hydrating and excercising this way for years now, with out issue... I know that running needs more hydration - but this dizzy spell did occur once after heavy lifting - and that's been constant in my life for 2 years now. :scratchin I am a bit stumped. HOpefully it was a fluke thing... I will be paying much closer attention to my hydration levels in the morning and see how that goes.

Hehehe... Yah - I laughed at Gus for the first 1/4 mile and begged him to run so I didn't look like a fool... So he ran, but he was in front of me with 2 steps. So, I opted to look like a fool. LOL It was fun to have someone with me... I wish the girls would run with me. ::yes::

I'm glad you didn't have any dizziness during/after your run last night, and I'm also glad that Gus was with you -- just in case. And I have to know -- what the heck are haggerty potatoes?????

Yes, it was a relief to have someone with me, really it was. Gus didn't know that there was an alterior motive for him being there, although he probably could have guessed - though I don't think any of the kids realize how potentially serious this could be?

Haggerty potatoes... Yum... I discovered them at a restaurant Josh and I went to for Valentine's day this year... There are lots of recipes for these online - but none of them are close to what these were. So, I've recreated what their recipe appeared to be...

Lots of yellow potatoes, cut into chunks roughly 1 - 1.5" cubed (I leave the skins on) and I do LOTS of potatoes, because they are loved by everyone.

Put them into a larger mixing bowl and dump some olive oil on top - enough to so you mix the potatoes in, and they are coated with olive oil.

Line a large cookie sheet with tin foil, then I spray it down with olive oil spray. Put potatoes on in a single later - salt and pepper to taste - and add chunks of bacon around the pan - I usually use approx 1/2 lb.and bake at 350° for approx an hour... They should be done, and slightly crisp/brown on the outside

On your plate, add the potatoes... Then add sliced GREEN onions and sour cream... Mix them up... Sooo good. They are like a crispy loaded baked potato. ::yes::

So, 5 ingredients. YELLOW potatoes, bacon, olive oil, GREEN onions and sour cream.

Thanks Liz - yes, me too! I guess I am starting to think it could be a hydration issue - because that is what makes the most sense of anything. I am going to keep a close eye on it.

Yay for your daughter - I hope she has fun! I know that many people love doing those! :thumbsup2

I hope you were able to get out for a walk last night.

You too - thank you!

Oh my gosh! Hysterical! I feel the same way walking next to my 6ft2 hubby. I'm practically running just to keep up with his slow walk. It almost makes me feel like a child. Darn it! Lol

All caught up! Toodles!

Hahaha... I know... I was super embarassed - but oh well. I always assume that people have no idea how slow I am really going, because I am by myself... They knew the other night. LOL

Nope - no dizzy spells at Valleyfair... I get dizzy on the tilt-a-whirl and such, but that's just for the duration of the ride... I am better by the time I crawl off. That is so scary - I hope she is OK now!

We'll see... I want to do a half marathon for sure - I am not sure I have any desire to do a full marathon... It just seems like there is SO much more to that, not only physical on your body, but so much more dedication, and I am not sure I am at that point? Who knows? Maybe once I do a half - I'll want to push myself to a full? But we'll see. :scratchin

Thanks for stopping by - as always - it's great to see you!

Hahahaha... I shouldn't laugh - but i feel your pain. I do have the desire to better my pace, but more than anything - I just want to run and enjoy the process and the fact that I can do it. I don't think I will really work on my pace much until next spring/summer - if it's something I am still interested in.

Yay for getting runs back in the books after so long off - that is awesome! :woohoo: So proud of you!

As long as you still come up - I will make it work... Even if it's just a quick coffee somewhere. :thumbsup2 I wouldn't miss it.

Hahaha... Bubba Gumps... That was Suzi, Mo and I's favorite restaurant while they were here... Actually - it's my preferred place to eat at the MOA when we go. ::yes:: I'll happily meet you there, if it works out with your schedule - however - I usually do lunch there, and not dinner. :scratchin

I'm glad to hear that Gus went with you for a run. It's good to hear that the dizziness hasn't come back.

Yes, we are still meeting at the same place. :thumbsup2 Just 30 minutes earlier in the day.

I am trying to think of something fun to do in the Minneapolis area... There is Ft. Snelling... That might be enjoyable? It does cost $$ to get into, but lots of history. YOu could always do more of the MOA too? Oooh - the State Fair is going on while you are here!!! That is always fun!!! But it's a total MAD HOUSE! Again - costs $$ but it's a huge deal here in MN and known as one of the best State Fairs in the nation... Lots of food and unique to MN stuff. It's an idea - but just be prepared for HUGE crowds if you go. ::yes:: That takes place in St. Paul... http://www.mnstatefair.org/

Looking forward to seeing you!

So, I went on Allison's photoshoot with her yesterday, it was a lot of fun and she got a lot of pictures!

I came home to discover that something happened to corrupt my photoshop editing program... And we can't find the original disk to re-install it. I am just sick... I use this program for a lot of stuff with my business - like when I write auctions... So, today will be spent gutting my office and praying I find it. I wish I could put into words how devistating this is - even Josh doesn't understand... though he is doing everything he can to help fix it - including resetting the computer to a few days ago, and losing half of his information that he's done over the last few days. Sigh... Which didn't work.

Today, I will also be starting my next custom order. I think I will do that first... so I don't fall behind in my sewing room. Then I will work on ripping apart the office this afternoon.

No more dizzy spells - but in all fairness... I did not work out at all yesterday - aside from hiking around the park with Allison yesterday morning.

I will be doing my WATP this morning too... I decided to take this week off from heavy lifting. Then a short run tonight.

That's about all... Nothing else exciting.

I hope you all have a great day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

It's good to hear that the dizziness hasn't come back. Crossing my fingers that it will continue that way :)
I really hope you find that Photoshop CD. I know how frustrating it is to not find that CD when you need it.

We'll see you at 10AM on the 2nd. I will look into Ft. Snelling.
I'm trying to find out where we can buy a crossover shoulder bag that isn't too expensive, either in Bloomington or in New York. If you have any idea of where we can look for this I would be glad to hear about it.

Yes! Still the same of everything else - 10am on the 2nd. :thumbsup2

Well, Josh and I talked last night - and we've decided that Photoshop Elements 13 is on sale right now for a really good price, so we are just going to upgrade. It's tax deductable for me, and it's a program I use a million times a day for various things to do with my business... Creating logos, editing photos, creating auction images. I honestly cannot run my business without this program. So, I am kind of excited to get the updated version - I sure hope it's pretty intuitive... Since there is a pretty good gap in between PSE7 and PSE13. LOL

If I were you, I would go to the outlet mall in Eagan. There are several bag stores there, Coach, Michael Kors, and my favorite - Vera Bradley... The VB outlet has incredible deals all the time - and her bags are very similar to mine for comfort - but they have a bazillion styles/colors. Here's the link to directions and more about the outlet mall... You'd be following the directions "from the north" - I believe. The outlet mall is less than a 15 minute drive from the MOA. ::yes:: Do you know when you'll be arriving in the Twin Cities? http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/directions.asp?id=112

Safe travels, my friend! Please let me know if there is anything else you need.

*******************************************************************************************************

I have time to do a really quick update today...

Yesterday, I worked out in the morning, and then I took Allison straight into the Dr. She's been having issues with her back, which keep getting worse and worse. The Dr. determined it's a muscle issue and upped her ibuprofen considerably. That seemed to help a lot yesterday.

We hung out a little while in town to wait for Allison's prescription...

Then we came home and I worked all day... I was able to catch back up after my hectic week so far. Which is always a relief to me - you all know that I hate being behind.

It looked like storms were a possibility last night, so I decided to go for my run earlier in the day. I did wear one of my new long sleeved shirts - and that was a slight mistake, it needs to be about 10° cooler to wear it. I wasn't terribly hot with it on - but I was a little less comfortable than I would have been with a tank top. Overall - it was a good run. I prefer to see my pace under 16 minutes, but I know I will get there eventually.

2015-08-27_16.51.08.jpg

(Yes, I do still have one really long Mickey thumb nail from our trip to Maine... I know it's super ugly, but it's been there for so long, now I am trying to see how long it will stay on? LOL)

After my run - I came home, drank water (I drank before I left too) and made dinner.

After dinner - I worked on some work stuff on the computer while it wasn't acting crazy, and I emailed everything to myself, just in case our computer crashed during the night (which it did twice yesterday.... Sigh) and also worked on some budget stuff. ::yes::

While I did that - Allison and Gus took my car to the car wash and brought it home to vacuum it out. Allison is going in this morning for her official drivers test. I am nervous, excited and scared for her all at the same time. She is a really good driver - and a much better parallel parker than I am - although, she isn't as good as Mo (I don't know that anyone could be?)

So, this morning, I am going to work out quickly and early.

Then I am headed to town with Allison.

While I am in town, I will grab a few necessary groceries, then I will come home to work again.

I hope you all have a marvelous day - and a wonderful weekend! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Good luck to Allison with her driver's test. They don't do parallel parking tests here anymore. It's a manueverability test now
I never did get to walk Wednesday because it did rain.
I have a big project I'm doing for a friend. She does crossstitch and wants me to made the blocks in to a quilt. It's a long term thing because she wants it in strips of threes and then put all the strips together and then the backing on it.
I should go out and weed the fron yard before work today. I don't know if I will though.
Liz

Glad to hear the tests came back negative and that you haven't had any dizzy spells.
I have been so busy with work that I have not had a chance to catch up on here.
Boo on computer issues. It's amazing how much we rely on technology these days.
Hope Allison does well on her driving test.:thumbsup2 Parallel parking is not for me and I even have cameras in my car to help. :confused3
My daughter is all settled in at school; as she stays home and commutes. Saves her a ton of money in student loans.
Have a fabulous weekend!!!

I hope Alli's back gets better soon. Good luck to Alli on her drivers test.

Thank you for the tips on where to find bags.

Today we had a sleep in morning. It was really nice to sleep a little longer. We got out the door around 11.30am. Then we went to Roosevelt National Park. We had lunch in a small town called Medora just beside Roosevelt National Park. Then we went to Walmart to buy some stuff we needed before we had dinner at Pizza Ranch. For once we came back to our hotel early. We were back in our room at 6.15pm
I'm guessing we will arrive in Minneapolis on Monday evening. So we will have all Tuesday to tour Duluth and the surroundings.

Good luck Allison!!! Speaking of water I am so thirsty...we actually got out early today because our school parking lots were literally flooding, as is much of the town. Too much too fast. Thats funny we only eat at Bubba Gump's for lunch too. By the end of the day, I am tired and ready to go home. The kiddos want to ride the rides and Jenny is counting the days until she gets her new American Girl Doll. Good job on your run again! Glad you got PhotoShop as well. I hate going to school and using our Windows based programs because I am such a Mac girl, love my Apple products. Oh you mentioned an outlet with bags...may have to check that out as well on our trip!

I think you're doing fabulously and showing great discipline in not pushing yourself too hard, too fast. That's how you get injured! I hope the dizzy spells have come and gone now. And I'm anxious to hear how the driving test went. :)

Oh - that's interesting about the parallel parking. I wonder why that is?

That sounds like a fun/huge project! I hope it goes smoothly for you!

Eh... Weeding - a job I detest. LOL

I hope you have a nice weekend Liz!

Good luck Allison!!!

Eeeep... Gotta scroll down to get the results! ::yes::

So far so good... I am really waiting on Sunday's run before I breathe easier about it again. I'll be sure to hydrate better before I go out, hopefully it's just something as simple as that.

You'll have to scroll down to see how Allison did. ::yes::

Yay - glad to hear your dd is settled at school... I hope Allison stays home to save on $$, but I doubt she will. Sigh.

You too! Thank you!

I hope Alli's back gets better soon. Good luck to Alli on her drivers test.

Thank you for the tips on where to find bags.

It was painful a bit yesterday, but she was distracted with her drivers test...

It sounds like you are having a great time! And yay for sleeping in and getting back early for some rest - it sounds like you all have been running like crazy, so a day to relax might be good?

Ok - sounds good. Duluth is about a 3 hour drive from Minneapolis - so not really a day trip, well, it can be done in a day, but it's a LONG day. You might be better off just doing the outlet mall and exploring the Cities area?

Safe travels and thank you for checking in!

Good luck Allison!!! Speaking of water I am so thirsty...we actually got out early today because our school parking lots were literally flooding, as is much of the town. Too much too fast. Oh no! That is awful! I hope all is OK?

Hehehe... I know - I am usually DONE with the mall by noon, if I can help it... The longer I stay, the busier it is, and I really don't enjoy that too much. ::yes::

Thanks!

We still love our AG doll collection - but it doesn't get much use anymore... Just display. But very fond memories for all of us there, and some day - I hope to pass the collection on to my grand daughters, if I ever have any. ::yes:: It's a nice collection that has been meticulously taken care of... I think I have pictures of it somewhere? I should share some day.

Yup - downloaded PSE last night... Couldn't pass up the price for as much as I use it. It was ~$75, and it's seriously a program I am always using, either for my business or for my Disney trip stuff. Allison doesn't use it much for her business - she uses Lightroom mostly.

The outlet mall with the bags, is the same outlet mall you are planning to go to. Eagan Outlet Mall. :thumbsup2 So, you'll have to check out the bags while you are there.

I think you're doing fabulously and showing great discipline in not pushing yourself too hard, too fast. That's how you get injured! I hope the dizzy spells have come and gone now. And I'm anxious to hear how the driving test went. :)

Thanks! It's really important to me that I am cautious when it comes to this. It's something I've wanted so badly for so long, I don't want to wreck it by pushing myself too hard. :thumbsup2 I hope so too... I think tomorrow morning's run will be very revealing. I am planniing to carefully hydrate throughout the morning, I plan to have a Larabar with me, just in case... Hopefully it was just a hydration issue which is easy to fix.

Read below for Allison's drivers test results...

**********************************************************************************

So, yesterday was a huge mess...

I had some time sensitive stuff to do with my business, which had to be DONE before we left the house at 7:30am. It was a total mess - I was having techie issues all over the place. It was not a fun morning...

I should have known at this point...

But tech issues resolved as best as I could... We were out the door at 7:40.

We arrived at the DMV at 8:06... With all of the walk in spots taken for the morning - they said we could check back "later". I had one disappointed girl with me.

So, we went to Target to get Starbucks... Gus met up with us there. Then we went to the bank... Then Alli went to get her hair cut. By that time, it was about 10:30, so we went back to the DMV to check. Eeep... They were able to squeeze us in to the waiting line... Which means... The take 3 people per day to "wait" - each appointment that doesn't show up, they pull from their "waiting line"... So 3 appointments had to not show up for Allison to get a turn. It would be a LONG afternoon of waiting. The lady at the DMV said we were safe to leave for about an hour... Which was perfect - we ran home quickly to grab Allison's work clothes (she had to work at 4) - and she grabbed a quick lunch to go from home... and we went straight back. By the time we got there, they had already gone through the other 2 waiting people... So we were next. We waited and waited and waited.

Took a few selfies... She'll kill me if she knew I posted this - so shhhh.... ::yes::

20150828_122901.jpg

Thankfully, Gus parked his car at the DMV, because i was sitting there with my stomach growling... He was nice enough to give me a ride over to Chipotle, so I could have some lunch (since we couldn't take my car - Alli needed it)... When we got back, my car was gone - so Alli was out taking her test... Eeeep - I was so nervous for her... but I just KNEW she would be fine - I made her drive in some pretty awful weather and road conditions, I don't think I could have prepared her any better than I did.

She drove up with a big smile on her face - I knew she passed! :woohoo:

20150828_135520.jpg

20150828_140621.jpg

She has yet to get to drive alone... we are still working on insurance... Hopefully she will be able to drive to work on her own today - because i have to work at home, and it would be nice.

Josh and I went out to Teresa's for dinner last night, it was delicious and nice to get out alone together (V was babysitting).

And then we hung out at home for the rest of the evening - pretty boring people actually. :scratchin

Today... I am working all day... I am a little behind from yesterday. No other plans for me, other than that.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

:rockband: They say it's your party nah nah! Way to go Alli!!! :car: I literally got my license and then ran a stop sign in a mall parking lot with my dad who freaked and I don't think I drove again for 6 months. Lol:) I am up and ready to shop away although I'm secretly saving for the outlet mall. This impromptu trip is more about the kids. Glad to see you got your computer issues fixed! Yeah for quiet dinners alone:) Good luck working out and enjoy your weekend!!!

Yeah, so I go MIA for a few months and you're up to 52 pages? Figures. I won't lie, I'm lost. I'm behind. I have no clue what's going on. But I'm here NOW and that's what matters, right? As I mentioned in Mo's PTR, I won't even close this browser, so I'll have a constant reminder to check daily! I'VE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!!! How are you? You look AMAZING, by the way. How are the girls? How are the guys? How is the DH? How are the furbabies? Has school started yet? Miss you guys so very much! The kids keep asking when we're going to get to see you and the girls again. Anyway, know I'm back, behind, lost, confused, but ready to move forward!:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Congrats to your new driver. And her short hair. I forgot she had it cut.
That potato recipe looks really good except for the onion part. I don't do onions.
Have fun with your international Dismeet on Tuesday.
I've been trying to do the stamina building for next month, but I really want to get back to my jump rope. I'm terrible, but it's just so much fun. I haven't made time for it the past week. And it makes a good companion to the heavy bag.
We got our magic bands this week, along with some ant stowaways. I think they were trying to get away from all the rain. (Cale and I exterminated as many as we could, so hopefully no eco-blowbacks to weird ants in our backyard)

God luck to all!
