~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I was wondering if it was any good.
Maybe the 8 pounds is muscle. You do work out daily.
Glad you were able to get your ADRs. It makes the trip seem even closer.
You already knew able my Vera addiction. After all, I drove 3 hours to go to the outlet sale. My daughter said No more Vera until next year's sale. WE'll see how that goes. My other addictions are shoes and vintage pyrex.
My vacation starts tomorrow and I'm finally going to paint he kitchen but I still haven't decided about that one wall. the one I wanted to paint red. I can't find the right shade. Saturday we're going to the antique stores in Middlefield tomorrow.

looks like some awesome ADR's. My november date is the 26th and I can't decide what to do this trip besides Biergarten since that is Jimmy's favorite.

Can't wait to see the bag ;)

Hooray for Cooper making some awesome progress.

Great ADR's. I tried MFP once and I agree, journaling is really annoying which is surprise, surprise why I never stuck to it. Although I was horrified to see how much I was actually eating. And fyi after reading your health update, a lot of workouts are on youtube. We no longer have our tv/dvd in the basement where we work out and I'm able to watch 30 day shred on the ipad. A bit smaller than I'm used to but after a few times I don't need to watch every second, just follow along with the timing. Sigh. I'm only on level 1. I was at level 3 last year. I've got to get my butt in gear and back to it!

Cooper and MM are SOOOO cute! Sorry about Allisons' beta. I think a year is pretty good for a fish. Don't be too hard on yourself about the weight gain. I would try the weigh in again another day. Sometimes I think it can be water weight depending on what you ate. That and muscle mass. I am in awe of your determination so keep at it! :)
Those ADRs sound delicious. I'm a little sad because we aren't going for free dining this year. But oh well.
Have a great weekend!

Where the hell is the UPDATE!!!

Love ya...

Mean it.

I updated... ;)

WOW! you posted the same time i did!!!!
HA HA HA HA
Sorry about the above now.. o_O

i can't lie. I knew..

BUt I do love the choices!!!!

Yup... ::yes::

to Allison. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Also, I bet those 8 lbs are muscles! Girl, have you seen your awesome bod? JELLY over here!

ADRs look great!!! Is Kona really worth eating at twice? We've never done breakfast. I currently have one booked, but it's kind of sitting on my list to cancel right now....

Thanks for typing slower this morning.

Thanks Liddy... We still have to bury little Finley... This weekend's weather wasn't optimal. Alli is doing OK - much better now.

Hahaha... Sadly - I don't think they are. I weighed again today, and I am down from last week - but not very much. I really need to keep a close eye on this over the next few weeks and be more diligent.

Not sure? I've never eaten at Kona before... But Suzi loves it and I've heard great things about it. I am excited to try.

Thanks... I am learning. :scratchin

Your ADRs are awesome. Those are some of our favorite places to eat.

You must really like Kona for breakfast. . I've never had breakfast there but it does look delicious.

Thanks Sue! I am not sure, I've never eaten there before, but it's on my must try list. And Suzi likes it. ::yes::

ADR's sound great, D!

Thanks Kathy! :thumbsup2

I try and not weigh myself. I'm trying to go by how I feel and look. I looked at pictures of my from my sister's wedding 2 weeks ago, and was amazed at how I looked.

Your ADRs look great!

Me too... but it had been almost 4 months since I'd weighed myself - I figured it was time to peek. I am glad I did though, because I think it was the swift kick I needed. ::yes::

You looked fabulous for your sisters wedding - I've been seeing the pictures all over FB, and you look stunning! I am very proud of you!

Thanks - I am very excited for them!

So sorry about Allison's fish. But you are right, a year is pretty good for a Beta. I've had quite a few of them over the years but finally got tired of the cleaning.

Your ADRs look great, a couple of my favorites in there!

Thanks Ariana. Allison says she doesn't want another fish - which is OK.

Thanks! I am so excited about all of them!

Poor Alli it's not fun loosing a pet.
Your ADR's looks great for your next trip.

I was at my neurology physiotherapist on Wednesday and she asked me if I was walking, since I've always come in my wheel chair now. I said that the reason I always use my wheel chair when I come to her is because my wheel chair is the best chair to sit in when I'm doing my exercises. And that I'm still walking when inside at home and sometimes outside if I'm going short distance. She said that sounds good and keep doing it. I agreed because it's important to be able to walk when needed. Well when I came home I decided I wanted to find out just how much I'm walking a day. So I installed a activity tracker app on my phone just for fun to see how much I'm really walking.

As you know I posted pictures of me in my national costume last year here on the DIS. About a week ago my sister sent me a message on facebook saying: Did you know that if you google Tromsøfestdrakt (the name of my costume) the first pictures that comes up is of you? Well I had to google and she was right. And when I saw where the pictures came from it was from the DIS :)
Here are the pictures for you all again (after struggling getting into my Flickr account and Photobuck acount )

Thanks!

That is awesome!!! Glad to hear you are walking so much! :woohoo:

And I love that your pictures are soem of the first to come up when you google your costume name - that's cool! :)

Thanks for posting the pictures again - I love your costume and I love seeing it - it's so beautiful!

I hope you had a nice weekend!

Love the ADRs!!!

Thanks! I am so excited for them!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I was wondering if it was any good.

I wish it was muscle - some of it might be, but I do need a swift kick in the rear, so this helped... I've been a little lax-i-daisical lately. ::yes;:

Thanks! Suzi did great getting all of our ADRs. :thumbsup2

Hahaha... Yah - I love my VB! Oooh I do have a shoe problem as well... and I do have a strong admiration for vintage Pyrex also - although I don't have any of it... I'd love to hunt down my parent's old set one day, just to have one like it.

Yay!!! ! I hope you are enjoying your days off! And you are able to get everything done that you want to do! Have fun!!! :D

looks like some awesome ADR's. My november date is the 26th and I can't decide what to do this trip besides Biergarten since that is Jimmy's favorite.

Can't wait to see the bag

Hooray for Cooper making some awesome progress.

Thanks! Suzi did a great job getting everything for us! ::yes::

I am excited to share the bag - it's cool.

He is doing really well. How is your puppy? I don't hear much about him/her. I know you got him/her the same time we got MM, but I (for the life of me) cannot remember it's name or if it's male/female. Must need more coffee?

I hope you had a great weekend!

Yes, I detest the jounaling... but even though I am not being super religious about it - it's helped for me to do as best I can and just "see" where I am at on a daily basis... If only to keep my eating a little more in check. I think I'd slipped off more than I thought I had?

Excellent idea... I could have used my tablet probably? Next time, I will remember. Thanks for the tip! :)

Glad to hear you are back at it though!!! Good for you!

Cooper and MM are SOOOO cute! Sorry about Allisons' beta. I think a year is pretty good for a fish. Don't be too hard on yourself about the weight gain. I would try the weigh in again another day. I agree - I think a year was pretty good. She is still sad about him, but doing much better.

I weighed again today... and I am only down .4 from last week - so I think last week's weight was pretty accurate, unfortunately. Oh well - I am working hard to change that.

Thank you... I just have to keep going, it would be awful if I stopped now. ::yes::

Thanks!!! I am very excited about all of them! I cannot wait to eat some Disney food.

Thanks - You too - thanks for stopping by!

***************************************************************************************

We had a nice weekend...

Friday - Um... What did we do? Oh... yah... Gus came over - we took Allison to work... So Gus, V and I went out to do some shopping with V's birthday $$... Then we went out to dinner... Then we went shopping for Gus... He bought a few shirts and I talked him into getting new shoes - he really did need a new pair. After we were done - it was time to pick Alli up from work, so we grabbed her and went home. I went straight to bed, I was so tired. The kids stayed up at watched movies.

Saturday... Allison went out with friends all day. Bff, O, V, one of O's friends and I went to Valley Fair. It was super busy and I was super tired when we were done... LOTS of long lines, so lots of bench sitting for me. When we were done, we picked Allison up in town. Gus came over. That was about it.

Yesterday... Allison worked in the morning. Victoria went to church then her and Josh went to trap. While they were doing that - I accidentally cleaned my sewing room... It was in desperate need - for sure! ::yes:: After - they picked Alli up from work. Everyone met here, including Gus. We decided to go to Valley Fair again. There was some weather in the area... So, on the way, we decided to stop at Starbucks to wait it out - which turned out to be a great idea. Once we got ot Valley Fair - the park had been emptied by the rain, so all of the rides were walk on and all of the coasters, we were able to stay on for multiple rides. It was super nice. ::yes:: The rain skirted around us all afternoon, and just as we were walking out - it started to rain, so it was perfect timing.

A few pictures from yesterday...

I hope all of you had a nice weekend! And I hope you all have a happy Monday! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Love how you "accidentally" cleaned your sewing room. :rotfl:

Sounds like your 2nd Valley Fair day was much better. Gus looks a little bored on the coaster picture. Or maybe he was just praying for it to be all over? :rotfl2:

As always, cute puppy pictures!

I accidentally cleaned my sewing room

Accidentally? :confused3 How in the world does that happen???? :confused3:confused3:confused3 I don't think I've accidentally cleaned anything a day in my life. :lmao:

You're doing so well at typing slower.

I accidentally cleaned my sewing room...
Hehe how is it possible to accidentally clean a whole room? :rotfl: I would never be able to do that accidentally :rotfl2:

Thanks for posting the pictures again - I love your costume and I love seeing it - it's so beautiful!
Thanks

My weekend went well. On Friday and Saturday I was fixing things for 17th May. I really enjoy looking/participating in the Scout parade at 7 am in the morning on the 17th May. The reason I say looking/participating is because this parade isn't long and they are going from memorial place to memorial so everyone that want to participate follows the parade, we are as much looking at the parade as participating in it. The parade walk from memorial statue / plaque in town placing a huge flowers and speak a short speech on every memorial statue / plaque about why this statue or plaque is placed here. Two of the statues are of former kings of Norway and the rest of the places has to do with the 2nd world war. The whole route becomes a little history class on why we celebrate 17th May and about what happened during the 2nd world and why it's important to not forget those things.

The Scout parade was over at 8.45am so then I went home to watch some TV from all around Norway showing how our National day is celebrated. At 11am I went to town again to watch the school children parade. It's a parade with all the city schools children and marching band playing special songs written for 17th of May. After that parade I met up with my parents and one of my sister that was in town with her 1 1\2 year old daughter and her husband and my brother. We had some cake before we went home to my parents to have dinner. At 4.30pm it was time for the last parade of the year. It's the most fun parade because all the associations in town that want to show them self can be in the parade and they often show what they do. So for example the ski club walks threw the whole parade on roller skis, the theather group dress up and some of them walks on stilts the whole parade and the towns riding school has some horses in the parade.
After the parade I went back to my parents and had some cake before I went home and the celebration was over for me.
I was so tired in the evening since I had been up since 6 am. I'm still tired today

You couldn't have planned that better if you tried with the rain and the no crowds at the park. Sounds like a fun day.

Oh puppy pictures...so darn cute.

It looks like Victoria was the only one brave enough to go with Gus on the water ride - or was it the other way around. ;)

We took advantage of the nice weather and worked on the garden. I got my veggies (small patch) and all my planters finished. I need to wait for the daffodils to turn brown before I can plant the rest of the garden. My poor muscles were not used to that kind of work after being somewhat dormant over the winter. ;)

Looks like a great time at Valley Fair especially after the rain cleared everyone out.
Cleaning out is the best. Even if it is by accident.
Looks the Cooper and MM are getting along. Oh and they are just too cute.
Not too sure if I will be on here again until we get back.
Have a great week!!

I've never accidentally cleaned anything. I didn't know it was possible.boy that mows our lawn was out and he helped
It looks like you guys had a great time at Valley Fair. You won't find me ever riding a water ride. It's funny how parks clear out when it starts raining. You'd think that people would figure out that it is going to stop.
I've been busy painting the kitchen and dining area. The grey looks really nice on the walls that are done. Sunday wee moved the china cabinet and then couldn't move it back. Luckily the boy that mows our lawn was still out and came over and helped. My son-in-law was dog sitting at his mom's at the time.
My daughter and son-in-law did get the house and closing is next Thursday. They are very excited. The people they're buying it from are selling them the washer and dryer, along with the patio furniture and lawn mower. The people are moving to an apartment and don't need them.
Have a good day.
Liz

I've read that the human can control which dog is higher up the chain by how they treat the dogs. Some examples would be to always feed MM before Cooper, give treats/bones to MM before Cooper, have MM walk ahead of Cooper on walks, and allow MM to go through doorways (behind you) and ahead of Cooper. I've never had more than one dog, but this advice seems to make sense, as these are the actions that are important for showing that the owner is alpha.

I hope your journaling goes well. With the amount of exercise you do, I would imagine most of the gain is muscle. I did the Whole30 once, though, and found that if I wasn't careful it caused me to eat far more calories than I'd normally eat. I know you're not supposed to count calories while doing it, but I couldn't help but do it in my head. The calories from things like red meat, avocados, almond butter, coconut milk, clarified butter, etc. could really add up fast. When not doing the Whole30, a typical breakfast for me would be either a banana and Greek yogurt or maybe two scrambled eggs and a banana. The breakfasts encouraged by the Whole30 were twice as many calories as I'd normally eat. I also initially found myself eating more high-calorie meat than I'd typically eat. While I think the premise of the Whole30 is great, I think it's easy to start consuming a lot of extra calories if you don't pay attention to the calories in the good-for-you foods. The biggest benefit for me with the Whole30 was coming up with things other than carbs for snacking.

I'm happy for you on the ADRs--they sound great!

Oh thanks for asking about Daisy the German Shepherd from Hell. She is a pain in the rear. Part of the problem is our neighbors behind us have Chickens. Yes you read that right Chickens in NYC. We are having a pissing contest with them because their chickens smell and are yucky. The idiots also built their coop right next to my fence.

I have a siberian husky Miley and Daisy, not a good combo.

So they have called the Environmental Control board on my dogs barking. Well I have nothing to worry about because my dogs are only out during the day and don't bark unless something is provoking them. AKA the chickens, (I will be making a complaint once it gets a little warmer because have you ever smelled chickens) YUCK!!!

No offense to anyone who has chickens but this is NYC. I guess I should be grateful it is illegal in NYC to have a ROOSTER.

Love how you "accidentally" cleaned your sewing room.

Sounds like your 2nd Valley Fair day was much better. Gus looks a little bored on the coaster picture. Or maybe he was just praying for it to be all over?

As always, cute puppy pictures!

I know! LOL I was only planning to "find" my serger... In the end, I cleaned my entire sewing room and I never did use my serger. LOL

It was much better - a lot more fun! They had to wait a while for one of the employees to tie one of the kids' shoes (not my kid) - LOL.

Thanks! I love puppy pictures!

Accidentally? How in the world does that happen???? I don't think I've accidentally cleaned anything a day in my life.

You're doing so well at typing slower.

Hahaha... I had only intended to clean enough to use my serger... But then I just cleaned the whole room and never did use my serger. :scratchin

Yes - it was a great day to be at the theme park. I wish you could have joined us too!!! We miss you!

Thanks! I've been working hard at it. LOL

Hehe how is it possible to accidentally clean a whole room? I would never be able to do that accidentally

Thanks

Yah - see my replies above... LOL I totally didn't mean to clean it (but it needed it in a bad way!)

It sounds like you had a busy, but fun weekend!!! I love hearing about this and how everyone celebrates so many different things! It sounds like it was a great time!

I hope you werea ble to get some rest!

You couldn't have planned that better if you tried with the rain and the no crowds at the park. Sounds like a fun day.

Hahaha... It was V begging Gus to go with her... and Gus begging Allison to come to... Guess how that went? LOL

Yay for getting all of your garden planted!!! Gardening is HARD work!!!! I hope you are feeling better today!

Looks like a great time at Valley Fair especially after the rain cleared everyone out.

Hehehe.... LOL Neither have I - imagine my shock!

We did have a great time!!! I don't like the water rides either - except for Splash!

Sounds like you ahve been very busy!!! I hope you love how it turned out? Glad the lawn boy was able to contribute some extra muscles for you guys! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: for your dd and SIL!!! Congrats to them!

Have a great day Liz!

This is very interesting... I Have done more reading up on it since you mentioned it... and I am altering how I train Cooper a little bit. Don't need the little man getting a big head yet. LOL

Thanks!!! It's going well - I am just trying really hard to eat better again! I can see where the whole30 brings a person above their calories - it can happen easily ehough. My issue was after I was done... Sigh. Feeling much better now though, and feeling like I have a handle on it again. Sometimes I really have to FORCE myself to journal to get my head back in the game.

Thanks! I am very excited that Suzi was able to get such great ADRs!!!

Oh no! I can totally understand your frustration. Our neighbors also have chickens - but they really don't bother us too much... we are lucky enough to have a road in between us... We never hear them, never see them and never smell them. But I can see where, if they were right on the other side of the fence - that it would drive you and your dogs bonkers! I sure hope that this resolves quickly and easily for you!

********************************************************************************

Soooo sorry that my update is going to be short n' sweet this morning... I was a bit distracted and now I am running late...

Disney update:

I found return airfare for our November Disney trip... So I booked that this morning. I am quite excited about it actually... :woohoo: Normally, if I see airfare for $175 one way, I jump on it... I found it this morning for $108!!!! Woohoo!!!! I am one happy girl!!! Now, if I can find my outbound flight for this cheap - it would be awesome!

OK - gotta run!!!! Lots to do today!!!

I hope you all have a great day! :grouphug:

D~

Yeah for cheap airfare! That's hard to find these days. I hope you have just as much luck with your outbound flight.

:woohoo: Hurray for finding airfaire for $108. Crossing my fingers that you will find cheap airfare for your outbound flight.

Yes I have been able to get some rest after the weekend.

Today I got to try an electric wheel that you mount on my manually wheel chair so it becomes an electric wheel chair. The good thing about this extra wheel is that you get a 2 in 1 wheel chair and that the whole chair isn't that heavy even when the electric wheel is fasten to the wheel chair compared to a normal electric wheel chair. Another plus is that it's easier to travel with the extra wheel instead of having to travel with a big electric chair. I'm going to write an application for it because it's not cheap.
In this video you can see how it works.
