~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

I think Zazu would be amazing on an UPB...lots of colours to work with!

(Sorry, I know you don't know me, but I've been reading your TRs and PTRs for the last couple years. You do a wonderful job on them!)

It is normal to occasionally have off days. And having a bad day after a race day is very common. Don't be too hard on yourself. The body is a mysterious thing and who knows why it doesn't respond the same way all the time.

My favorite yoga master is Rodney Yee. He does a great workout but his routines are about 45 minutes long. If you have cable television then there should be a lot of yoga workouts available there. I also took a class at the high school. It was very motivating because I paid for it and I was determined to get my money's worth. And they can tell you if you are doing the positions correctly.

That is good to know... I will expect it on Tuesday then. LOL

I do have satellite, so maybe I can find something on there? Thanks for the idea!

I've only tried the "recovery" class posted in this link, and I did like it: http://www.runnersworld.com/tag/runners-world-yoga-center I am lucky to have a really good yoga studio about 5 minutes from my house, so that's where I go.

A foam roller may help your calves loosen up a bit. You could probably find a cheap one at Target. http://www.runnersworld.com/training-video/foam-roller-video-series

ETA: you should make yourself an Up! bag. I love that movie!

Lucky - I just don't have any sort of class close enough to me, and well - I am a tightwad, so I don't like to pay for anything. LOL But I do plan to look up some sort of yoga on my satellite channels - maybe I can find something there? I do know we have a yoga thing on our WII too... :scratchin

Oooh - yes - a foam roller, that is a great idea!!! I will also look into that. Thanks!

Hehehe... I know - I love uP!!!! Carl and Ellie = swoon! :lovestruc

I'm glad you had a good run last night. Getting stuck in that storm would have been bad.
I don't have any ideas for an AK bag. All that suggestions sound good. I basted one of the strips of my friends quilt together. It took a while since the kitten insisted on helping. I gave it to her and she's happy to begin crosstitching.
Cat sitting is going well except the youngest cat likes shredding things. My daughter says he does that all the time.
We're supposed to get your storms later today. I hope so we need the rain.
Have a good day.
Liz

Hi Liz!!! Sounds like you've been busy with the quilt and cat sitting!

I hope the storms went OK and there was no damage.

Thanks - you too!!! have a nice weekend!

Well ideally I'd like for all of us to stay at Bay Lake Tower for our Thanksgiving 2016 Trip. I just love how convenient it is to MK, and with two little ones (the boys will be 4 and 2) it just makes it easier. Since SSR is my DVC Home resort, I'll book that first and then try to move it later.

Breaking news: I actually COMPLETED by Disney Magic Cruise trip report...from January 2014...finally! It was quicker than I thought and of course I don't recall much so if I don't have photos I can't really remember what happened. I think I covered most of it. I'd love to do a PTR or TR for our next cruise, but I know how bad I am about keeping it up. I'm loving the planning though.

Hope Allison is feeling better!

I totally agree - it would be awesome to stay there! Do you think you will be able to?

I did stop by and read your entire cruise TR this morning - I enjoyed it a lot and I was so happy to see that you'd finished it. :thumbsup2

Thank you - she is much better.

No ideas on your bag, but all of your work is so gorgeous that whatever you come up with will be fabulous! I hope Allison is ok and feels better soon! Good luck with your race tomorrow!!!

In case you're interested, I decided to do a trip report for our trip last month. I enjoy reading yours and others so much that I am taking a stab at it....
http://www.disboards.com/threads/re...home-from-honduras-trip-updated-9-18.3445177/

Thanks!!!

Allison is better - after taking her to the Dr. to tell her she has a cold. Sigh. Happens every single time.

Ooh - thanks for the link... I"ll try to stop by this weekend! I am looking forward to reading! :thumbsup2

I think Zazu would be amazing on an UPB...lots of colours to work with!

(Sorry, I know you don't know me, but I've been reading your TRs and PTRs for the last couple years. You do a wonderful job on them!)

Oook - excellent idea!

Welcome!!! I am glad you stopped by and said hello! I hope you'll continue to read and follow along. :)

***********************************************************************************************

Just a super quick stop by and say hello this morning... Time got away from me and now I am running behind.

I have another 5k race I am doing at the MOA this morning... And I need to leave in a little over 30 min. Ykes - still in y PJs and I need to get ready.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Prayers and good thoughts to all! :lovestruc

D~

does it take anyone else soooo long to get ready for a run? I swear, it takes me 20 min just to get all of my gear on and ready....

Yes! Wake up at 4AM and I'm lucky to be out the door by 4:30AM. :sad2: Wake up, hit the restroom, take care of kitties, put on my running clothes and shoes, get my gear, put on headphones and I'm finally out the door.

At the last second, I switched from my walking shoes to my running shoes... At the insistence of my friend Nicole... And I got out there. I had a great run - I barely made it back home before dark. But it was just what I needed to turn my mind around. I am so glad I went out - because I easily could have sat in my recliner and had a pity party all night long. ::yes::

Good job! To you and Nicole, hehe. The mind and motivation can be scary because it's so fickle. I've felt it come and go with no real rhyme or reason. When you're on a roll you feel like the thought of getting derailed is just silly, but then a bad run or something else crops up to send you into the abyss. I'm glad you had someone to push you back out there. :)

Excited to hear about today's run! :flower1:

Hi D!
Tried to do a multi quote but too hard to do on my iPad. I did the Disney 1/2 in Jan 2012 but I walked it and did NOT prepare at all. I did it with my friend that I went to Europe with this spring. She trained much more than I. We were in the 2nd to last corral (must charity group runners are in last). We were at the start early to be sure we were in the front of that corral. You are supposed to keep a 16min pace from when the last person crosses the starting line. The 2 of us stuck together all the way to MK & through castle then I told her I didn't want to get her swept so I insisted she go at her faster pace. She made me promise I wouldn't quit. At about mile 9 I think I JUST missed being swept. They actually had the cones in their hands to stop everyone behind me except the one poor young man with a prosthetic leg. I surely would have been swept if it wasn't for him. Once you made it past the point you didn't get swept if you kept moving. And I made sure everytime the medics road by on their bikes and asked how I was doing I smiled and said great even though I was dying. My feet were killing me (remember I had each bunion removed in Aug & Nov 2011). By the time I made it to Epcot I actually passed a few folks. I wasn't the slowest in the race but of the 20,000+ participants I was in the last 100-maybe last 50. But I still got a medal.:D A really cool Donald Duck medal.:-)

I think I have your Nov resort narrowed down to 2. Both are awesome but I've only been to one. I'm happy just to have a room. The only rooms available now are like $600+ CL or suites.

I booked a couple of ADRs but no fast passes yet. I tried to get 7DMT at exactly 60 days out for when Terry will be there. I was having trouble with the browser trying to do it at work so I gave up. I really have to do it this weekend.

Joe is camping this weekend. Gene & Lizzy took Emma to her away soccer game this morning. I was watching Disney you tube videos on my TV but I fell asleep - lots of stress & long hours at work this week. I had an aweful dream-I was on some trip, not WDW, with a very strange mix of people. Somehow my temporary front tooth got destroyed. I was stressing out about how I would go to work. V was there to give me hug & tell me it would be OK. She made me feel better but I didn't believe her. I was so happy to wake up & realize it was just a dream. I was supposed to get my permanent crown before we went away in August but the dentist was missing a piece of hardware. I've been too busy at work yo call him. I better call Monday!

Can't wait to hear how today's race went for you!

Sorry i can't do replies today everone... I am mobile. I will do them in the morning. :)

I did want to tell you about my race yesterday though. I'll do mre details later... But essentially, i started at the back of the pack and never could catch up. :/ i had a few moments of feeling sorry for myself, but i moved on easily from it. However, even though I came in dead last, i increased my pr pace by almost a minute from last weekend... I was really proud of that!

As a good friend of mine said to me on FB last night... It's been your dream to run... Now you've done 2 5ks in 7 days, be proud! And I am. :)

It was a great race for an amazing cause, and i was so happy to be able to do my part!

2015-09-19_09.40.19.jpg

I hope you all have a great day! We are at a family reunion for Josh's family in Albert Lea today, it looks like it will be beautiful!

Prayers and pixie dust to all! :grouphug:

D~

Congratulations on improving your pace by almost a minute. That is huge. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)

Just back from our family trip to Disney. Glad to be home, but I'm missing my lake view. All I see out my window is a yard full of weeds. sigh.... Congrats on both of your races. The important thing to remember is that you actually completed 2 races. The pace doesn't matter. That's 2 more than I have done. I spent the last 2 weeks before the trip sewing on our MNSSHP costumes. We went the first night and it was sold out. Never again! The CM's weren't too great at checking on wristbands either. There was a couple in front of us in line for a ride, well after 7 pm with no bands. I said something to the nearest cm and she told them they needed to leave and wouldn't let them get on the ride. Not sure they spoke much English, so I don't think they understood why they couldn't ride. Trip was good, with a couple of exceptions - my DIL broke her foot on Monday before we left (we left on Friday). My son was able to rent a scooter for her so she was able to get around ok. Unfortunately, the first one kept running out of power, so they had to replace it. And then her purse was stolen in Epcot on Tuesday. Luckily, she was not carrying any cash with her, and they cancelled her only credit card immediately. The purse was recovered, and the only thing missing was the credit card. My brother's fiancé, Karen, ended up with blisters, even though she had good shoes that were broken in. They ended up not going to the parks with us every day, but still had a good time. I think C and I wore them out.

And on top that, we are in the process of buying another DVC contract, however the seller has not yet returned his signed paperwork (its been nearly 45 days), so after waiting for Disney, and the seller, its been more than 3 months since we made the offer and the seller accepted it. Looks like we are going to have to start all over. I am not a happy camper.

Also, one of my coworkers talked me into signing up for a beginner yoga class. It started this past week, though, so I missed the first lesson. I'm supposed to go a bit earlier on Thursday to see what I missed. I am looking forward to it.

OK - good, because I feel like I take forever... It's even worse if I have a race... Because I have to get up an hour earlier so I can drink my coffee and "digest" it before I have to run... So, I get up at 4am for an 8am race, depending on how far I have to drive too. ::yes:: that doesn't even include getting all of my gear on. So far, what I've done is, wear my actual running clothes under a pair of sweats/sweatshirt and my flip-flops... I bring everything with me and put it on before my race. I've noticed I am really the only one who does this, but I have stupid feet and I like to wear my flip flops as long as possible. ::yes::

LOL - Yes, Nicole is a good running friend - and she definitely holds me accountable. :thumbsup2 Yes - I couldn't believe how much that run totally killed my mojo!

I posted about it yesterday... It was a good run - mostly. I had a great pace for me - increasing my average by 51 seconds/mile, but I couldn't believe how far ahead of me that everyone was. Considering it was a run in the "Cities" - there weren't many people at all - there were probably only 30 runners, tops - and I was dead last, by a long shot. Yet - I just don't understand... When I am training - this might be bad, but I really just shoot for the ~16 min mile, because I don't want to get swept when I finally go to Disney... but I should probably be shooting for more like a 10 min mile, so I can sort-of keep up with other runners? I dunno... That race on Saturday was a real eye-opener for how slow I am. :scratchin Again - I don't think I will really start worrying about speed until after winter, as this will be my first winter - and just getting out there will be a feat of it's own... I have my 8k I am working towards now on Thanksgiving morning... I am hoping to do a race sometime around Christmas - but I haven't found one I like yet. We'll see how it all comes together...

That is amazing that you did the Disney half with out preparing!!! Truly amazing! And what an experience!!! I am so proud of you!!! That is honestly my dream some day - just to do the half in Disney... Some day!

I think I have your Nov resort narrowed down to 2. Both are awesome but I've only been to one. I'm happy just to have a room. The only rooms available now are like $600+ CL or suites.

Thanks to Suzi planning this whole trip - I haven't had to deal with anything. It's been really nice for me, but I am sure it hasn't been a picnic for her. I've heard many rumblings in FB groups how packed everything is, how there is no availability for much of anything - at a time of the year when it's supposed to be dead... I was hoping that Disney was just holding things close - but the closer we get to our dates, the more I wonder if it truly will be that busy. :scratchin

Sounds like a busy weekend for everyone.... Hahaha - my V? That is too funny. I"ll have to tell her that she appeared in one of your dreams - she'll like that. :lovestruc

I hope you are able to get everything settled with the dentist before your trip... I cannot believe this will be the 3rd time we will be in Disney at the same time! Looking forward to seeing you again, my friend! We'll have to text a little bit to see if we can coordinate a time to meet up, so I can at least get it in my phone and be watching for you, because once I get down there - I'll forget anything that's not in my phone. LOL ::yes::

Congratulations on improving your pace by almost a minute. That is huge. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.)

Thank you Sue!!! I was really proud of that! I was shocked every time I looked down at my watch and saw that I was running at 12 & 13 min - I did feel like I was pushing myself - but not that much. ::yes::

Just back from our family trip to Disney. Glad to be home, but I'm missing my lake view. All I see out my window is a yard full of weeds. sigh.... Congrats on both of your races. Hi Tess!!!! I did see a couple of pictures on FB... It did look like you were having a great time and I loved your MNSSHP costumes! :thumbsup2

Thank you... A friend of mine on FB reminded me of that too... I have to remember just how far I have come in such a short time - and not to compare myself to people who have probably been running for years.

That is AWFUL!!!!! I cannot believe all that happened on your trip... And a purse stolen in Epcot??? Seriously - that is AWFUL!!!! Did Disney do anything to help recover it? And blisters are awful... That a bummer that she didn't get to go with all of the time - but hopefully she enjoyed the relaxing part too?

That is such a bummer about that contract... Maybe the person changed their minds? They should have said something to you - if they did... That wasn't very nice. But is there still hope they could sign?

I hope you enjoy your yoga class. You'll have to let me know how you like it. ::yes::

********************************************************************************************

Josh and I had a nice weekend.

We left on Saturday evening to meet his dad and step-mom in Albert Lea for a family reunion on Sunday. It was nice to get away by ourselves... I can see us doing a lot of that in a few years. I am still dreaming of owning DVC with Josh and at least hitting the parks once per year... I've already decided that he WILL be there for me for my first race - whether he likes it or not. ::yes:: And on that trip - we will be staying in a Deluxe/DVC Disney resort, so he can see how wonderful it is.

The reunion was a lot of fun... For the record, I was the 2nd youngest person there. :thumbsup2 Buuuut... As it turned out - I had a mutual friend from High School with one of Josh's 80th cousins (slightly exaggerated) by marriage. LOL So, that was kind of cool. We chatted for a good portion of the afternoon.

We drove home last night, and made it home by supper time>

The kids had a nice weekend. Gus was down for training for his job at school... So he was in the area, but not here - for the most part. V babysat on Saturday and went to church yesterday. And Matt was here and in charge of the girls. Overall - they all had a good weekend, and it was nice for us to get away.

Today... well, my schedule Is a little odd... V has an appointment this morning - so rather than working out this morning, I need to go get ready. I will walk tonight after dinner instead.

I am all caught up in my sewing room... So, today is a FREE day for me. I know I should be working on side stuff... BUT... I haven't made anything new for myself for my upcoming trip (Which is starting in LESS than 60 days GULP)... So, I've decided that this afternoon - I get to work on something for myself. :woohoo: I will definitely be sharing pictures here when I am done. I've been working it out in my head for about a week now - so I hope it turns out as cool as I am visualizing it to be. ::yes:: And hopefully it won't take me long to make. The point of this is to get myself something new for the trip, in as little time as possible. LOL If it goes well - I hope to be done with it today. ::yes::

Ok - I hope you all had a nice weekend! Prayers and pixie dust to all! :grouphug:

I totally agree - it would be awesome to stay there! Do you think you will be able to?
I did stop by and read your entire cruise TR this morning - I enjoyed it a lot and I was so happy to see that you'd finished it. :thumbsup2
Thank you - she is much better.

I don't know what our chances will be for staying at Bay Lake during Thanksgiving week. I plan to have myself on the wait list as soon as possible, so right at the 7 month mark I'll be calling. We've had good luck in the past getting our waitlist requests but we will see.

Yes it was fun to go back and finish out a trip report...even thought it's been almost two years since the trip. I think we are all just so excited about this upcoming cruise we can hardly stand it any longer. As much as we love our Disney trips, we have just been on far fewer Disney cruises so it's a little more exciting. It's funny because the kids are really all about the thrill rides these days, but the cruise and the chance to play trivia games and do other activities is just as exciting for them.

Can't wait to hear about what you make for your upcoming trip. We all know it will be FABULOUS! :)

I'm curious about what you made for yourself, too. It sounds like you had a good day yesterday.
Look at it this way, you finished the race. I'm sure your time will get better in time.
Yesterday, my daughter and I went down to Stan Hywet hall and gardens to see Bloom. It was a display of glass flower sculptures in the gardens. We had fun walking around and taking pictures. It was really warm there. We also toured the house which is really nice.
Today I'm working.
Have a good day.
Liz

Hey D! I just wanted to congratulate you on your races, I give you so much credit, as a non-runner. I also dream of one day running a race in Disney. So you are under 60 days!!! Thats so exciting!:goodvibes Is your friend taking care of all the FPs, or are you going to have a say in them as well?

Congratulations on improving your time in the race over the weekend -- you shaved a lot of time off! Yea!! Again -- so inspirational!

Congrats on running your second 5K! And on the time improvement. That is awesome! :yay: I look forward to the day my girls can stay home alone. They always want to. Em is 18 and I trust her but we just haven't tried it yet.
Can't wait to see your next sewing project.:)

Stopping by to say:

RUN AWAY - Or keep running, I suppose. Good for you to do this. I just balk at the thought of running - the outside in me thinks running is too trendy and I was a sprinter, not a long runner, when I ran. The idea of running more than just down the hall exhausts me.

T-15 hours and counting until we're on the road back to FL! Wednesday = Caribbean Beach and a long overdue break from the world.

Hi :flower3: Remember me??? Sorry....I have no excuse...just haven't DISed lately.

But I'm all caught up again. I'm exhausted... Playing nurse is definitely not for me. But hubby is on the mend :crutches:
So....AK outfit....I like the classic animal print Mickey head (like my shirt in my profile pic...I made it myself)
But I love the Lion King idea too. It's one of my favorite movies, so an outfit would be fun!

So proud of you with all your races. You are doing awesome!

Congrats on your first AND second 5k!!! You really are an inspiration. If you are looking for free yoga videos, check out you tube. There is so much on there. Also HASfit has some great free work outs.

Even with all the mishaps, we all had a good time. Jim and Karen are talking about coming back in a couple of years and bringing their grandgirls, so it must not have been too hard on them!

Melissa's purse was found and returned to guest services with everything except the one credit card. Luckily it was not the one they were using for the trip - and it was cancelled immediately.

I have no idea what is going on with the sellers. They are in Great Britain, and sent an email to our agent that they were having the papers notarized the next day and sending the contract (along with 2 more they are selling) by Fed EX - that was 2 weeks ago though, so who knows what is going on? Our agent has been trying to contact them, although I don't know how successful they have been.

Oh, btw - my coworkers are a bunch of comedians - first my computer was programmed to play "it's a Small World" when I turned it on this morning, and they printed off the picture of Charlie and me in our costumes from the party and posted it on the bulletin board in the lunch room.

Go sew something fabulous! you deserve it.
