Yes! Wake up at 4AM and I'm lucky to be out the door by 4:30AM. Wake up, hit the restroom, take care of kitties, put on my running clothes and shoes, get my gear, put on headphones and I'm finally out the door.
Good job! To you and Nicole, hehe. The mind and motivation can be scary because it's so fickle. I've felt it come and go with no real rhyme or reason. When you're on a roll you feel like the thought of getting derailed is just silly, but then a bad run or something else crops up to send you into the abyss. I'm glad you had someone to push you back out there.
Excited to hear about today's run!
OK - good, because I feel like I take forever... It's even worse if I have a race... Because I have to get up an hour earlier so I can drink my coffee and "digest" it before I have to run... So, I get up at 4am for an 8am race, depending on how far I have to drive too.

that doesn't even include getting all of my gear on. So far, what I've done is, wear my actual running clothes under a pair of sweats/sweatshirt and my flip-flops... I bring everything with me and put it on before my race. I've noticed I am really the only one who does this, but I have stupid feet and I like to wear my flip flops as long as possible.
LOL - Yes, Nicole is a good running friend - and she definitely holds me accountable.

Yes - I couldn't believe how much that run totally killed my mojo!
I posted about it yesterday... It was a good run - mostly. I had a great pace for me - increasing my average by 51 seconds/mile, but I couldn't believe how far ahead of me that everyone was. Considering it was a run in the "Cities" - there weren't many people at all - there were probably only 30 runners, tops - and I was dead last, by a long shot. Yet - I just don't understand... When I am training - this might be bad, but I really just shoot for the ~16 min mile, because I don't want to get swept when I finally go to Disney... but I should probably be shooting for more like a 10 min mile, so I can sort-of keep up with other runners? I dunno... That race on Saturday was a real eye-opener for how slow I am.

Again - I don't think I will really start worrying about speed until after winter, as this will be my first winter - and just getting out there will be a feat of it's own... I have my 8k I am working towards now on Thanksgiving morning... I am hoping to do a race sometime around Christmas - but I haven't found one I like yet. We'll see how it all comes together...
Hi D!
Tried to do a multi quote but too hard to do on my iPad. I did the Disney 1/2 in Jan 2012 but I walked it and did NOT prepare at all. I did it with my friend that I went to Europe with this spring. She trained much more than I. We were in the 2nd to last corral (must charity group runners are in last). We were at the start early to be sure we were in the front of that corral. You are supposed to keep a 16min pace from when the last person crosses the starting line. The 2 of us stuck together all the way to MK & through castle then I told her I didn't want to get her swept so I insisted she go at her faster pace. She made me promise I wouldn't quit. At about mile 9 I think I JUST missed being swept. They actually had the cones in their hands to stop everyone behind me except the one poor young man with a prosthetic leg. I surely would have been swept if it wasn't for him. Once you made it past the point you didn't get swept if you kept moving. And I made sure everytime the medics road by on their bikes and asked how I was doing I smiled and said great even though I was dying. My feet were killing me (remember I had each bunion removed in Aug & Nov 2011). By the time I made it to Epcot I actually passed a few folks. I wasn't the slowest in the race but of the 20,000+ participants I was in the last 100-maybe last 50. But I still got a medal. A really cool Donald Duck medal.
That is amazing that you did the Disney half with out preparing!!! Truly amazing! And what an experience!!! I am so proud of you!!! That is honestly my dream some day - just to do the half in Disney... Some day!
I think I have your Nov resort narrowed down to 2. Both are awesome but I've only been to one. I'm happy just to have a room. The only rooms available now are like $600+ CL or suites.
I booked a couple of ADRs but no fast passes yet. I tried to get 7DMT at exactly 60 days out for when Terry will be there. I was having trouble with the browser trying to do it at work so I gave up. I really have to do it this weekend.
Joe is camping this weekend. Gene & Lizzy took Emma to her away soccer game this morning. I was watching Disney you tube videos on my TV but I fell asleep - lots of stress & long hours at work this week. I had an aweful dream-I was on some trip, not WDW, with a very strange mix of people. Somehow my temporary front tooth got destroyed. I was stressing out about how I would go to work. V was there to give me hug & tell me it would be OK. She made me feel better but I didn't believe her. I was so happy to wake up & realize it was just a dream. I was supposed to get my permanent crown before we went away in August but the dentist was missing a piece of hardware. I've been too busy at work yo call him. I better call Monday!
Can't wait to hear how today's race went for you!
Thanks to Suzi planning this whole trip - I haven't had to deal with anything. It's been really nice for me, but I am sure it hasn't been a picnic for her. I've heard many rumblings in FB groups how packed everything is, how there is no availability for much of anything - at a time of the year when it's supposed to be dead... I was hoping that Disney was just holding things close - but the closer we get to our dates, the more I wonder if it truly will be that busy.
Sounds like a busy weekend for everyone.... Hahaha - my V? That is too funny. I"ll have to tell her that she appeared in one of your dreams - she'll like that.
I hope you are able to get everything settled with the dentist before your trip... I cannot believe this will be the 3rd time we will be in Disney at the same time! Looking forward to seeing you again, my friend! We'll have to text a little bit to see if we can coordinate a time to meet up, so I can at least get it in my phone and be watching for you, because once I get down there - I'll forget anything that's not in my phone. LOL
Congratulations on improving your pace by almost a minute. That is huge. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.)
Thank you Sue!!! I was really proud of that! I was shocked every time I looked down at my watch and saw that I was running at 12 & 13 min - I did feel like I was pushing myself - but not that much.
Just back from our family trip to Disney. Glad to be home, but I'm missing my lake view. All I see out my window is a yard full of weeds. sigh.... Congrats on both of your races. The important thing to remember is that you actually completed 2 races. The pace doesn't matter. That's 2 more than I have done. I spent the last 2 weeks before the trip sewing on our
MNSSHP costumes. We went the first night and it was sold out. Never again! The CM's weren't too great at checking on wristbands either. There was a couple in front of us in line for a ride, well after 7 pm with no bands. I said something to the nearest cm and she told them they needed to leave and wouldn't let them get on the ride. Not sure they spoke much English, so I don't think they understood why they couldn't ride. Trip was good, with a couple of exceptions - my DIL broke her foot on Monday before we left (we left on Friday). My son was able to rent a
scooter for her so she was able to get around ok. Unfortunately, the first one kept running out of power, so they had to replace it. And then her purse was stolen in Epcot on Tuesday. Luckily, she was not carrying any cash with her, and they cancelled her only credit card immediately. The purse was recovered, and the only thing missing was the credit card. My brother's fiancé, Karen, ended up with blisters, even though she had good shoes that were broken in. They ended up not going to the parks with us every day, but still had a good time. I think C and I wore them out.
And on top that, we are in the process of buying another DVC contract, however the seller has not yet returned his signed paperwork (its been nearly 45 days), so after waiting for Disney, and the seller, its been more than 3 months since we made the offer and the seller accepted it. Looks like we are going to have to start all over. I am not a happy camper.
Also, one of my coworkers talked me into signing up for a beginner yoga class. It started this past week, though, so I missed the first lesson. I'm supposed to go a bit earlier on Thursday to see what I missed. I am looking forward to it.
Hi Tess!!!! I did see a couple of pictures on FB... It did look like you were having a great time and I loved your MNSSHP costumes!
Thank you... A friend of mine on FB reminded me of that too... I have to remember just how far I have come in such a short time - and not to compare myself to people who have probably been running for years.
That is AWFUL!!!!! I cannot believe all that happened on your trip... And a purse stolen in Epcot??? Seriously - that is AWFUL!!!! Did Disney do anything to help recover it? And blisters are awful... That a bummer that she didn't get to go with all of the time - but hopefully she enjoyed the relaxing part too?
That is such a bummer about that contract... Maybe the person changed their minds? They should have said something to you - if they did... That wasn't very nice. But is there still hope they could sign?
I hope you enjoy your yoga class. You'll have to let me know how you like it.

Josh and I had a nice weekend.
We left on Saturday evening to meet his dad and step-mom in Albert Lea for a family reunion on Sunday. It was nice to get away by ourselves... I can see us doing a lot of that in a few years. I am still dreaming of owning DVC with Josh and at least hitting the parks once per year... I've already decided that he WILL be there for me for my first race - whether he likes it or not.

And on that trip - we will be staying in a Deluxe/DVC Disney resort, so he can see how wonderful it is.
The reunion was a lot of fun... For the record, I was the 2nd youngest person there.

Buuuut... As it turned out - I had a mutual friend from High School with one of Josh's 80th cousins (slightly exaggerated) by marriage. LOL So, that was kind of cool. We chatted for a good portion of the afternoon.
We drove home last night, and made it home by supper time>
The kids had a nice weekend. Gus was down for training for his job at school... So he was in the area, but not here - for the most part. V babysat on Saturday and went to church yesterday. And Matt was here and in charge of the girls. Overall - they all had a good weekend, and it was nice for us to get away.
Today... well, my schedule Is a little odd... V has an appointment this morning - so rather than working out this morning, I need to go get ready. I will walk tonight after dinner instead.
I am all caught up in my sewing room... So, today is a FREE day for me. I know I should be working on side stuff... BUT... I haven't made anything new for myself for my upcoming trip (Which is starting in LESS than 60 days GULP)... So, I've decided that this afternoon - I get to work on something for myself.

I will definitely be sharing pictures here when I am done. I've been working it out in my head for about a week now - so I hope it turns out as cool as I am visualizing it to be.

And hopefully it won't take me long to make. The point of this is to get myself something new for the trip, in as little time as possible. LOL If it goes well - I hope to be done with it today.
Ok - I hope you all had a nice weekend! Prayers and pixie dust to all!
