I love the bow!!! What better place to wear an over the top bow than Disney!?
Thanks D! Yes I am!Enjoy the rest of your time at home! I hope you are able to spend time with everyone that you want to.![]()
Love the bow. The design is so cute!!! The Mickey ice cream bar is my favorite part. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with in bow making in the future!
Yes glue guns are hot so you have to be careful. Crossing my fingers that you have learned your lessons and that it will go so much better and easier next time. Your new headband looks great even if it's a little big. I can't wait to see the next one you make.
I hope V gets well soon.
Next weekend I'm going on a peer support conference with the Cerebral palsy Association I'm a member off. I'm really looking forward to this because it always fun to meet friends again and meet people that struggles with some of the same things I do. I'm looking forward to it so much that I'm forgetting that I first have a lot of appointments during the week that I have to do first.
the hair bow looks great.
I love all the different colors and patterns that you used in your bow. I can see you wearing it to the MK on a party day, but not necessarily during the party.
That's too bad that Allison was teased about her new phone. Do all of the kids at school have phones now?
Love the headband!! It is a little large and on a normal day I'd think it were strange to see out on the street...but at Disney? Anything goes!!!
That hair bow is SO cute! I love it! Is that a Mr. Potato Head arm holding a Mickey ice cream bar? Adorable! You are so creative! Too cute.
I'm so sorry V isn't feeling well. There is so much crud going around. My older daughter (21, in college in Utah) is recovering from the flu but the cough is lingering and it just won't go away. The doctor told her the cough might hang on for a few weeks. And my younger daughter (16, almost 17) had bronchitis a few weeks ago and is still coughing a bit, particularly at night. Same story from her doctor -- the cough might last a few weeks even after everything else was better. *Sigh*
You are so sweet to even try to keep everyone's families straight -- you're such a popular person here on the DIS and so many people follow your TRs that I'm amazed you can keep them all straight! Anyway...our phone adventure yesterday....Brie accidentally put her phone through the washer a few months ago and had been using an old iPhone 4 that we had on hand and it just wasn't working properly -- it would shut down on its own, took forever to send and receive texts, couldn't run her banking app and a few others, etc. She had insisted for months that it was fine and she could deal with it...but she is also driving and it gets snowy here, plus she has a job, and sports practice for school, and so we wanted her to have a reliable phone. But, unfortunately, I haven't found a "free upgrade" in ages -- we're with Sprint and used to get free upgrades every two years. Apparently everyone has stopped doing that now and so you have to either buy the phone outright, lease it, or purchase it on an installment plan. After much discussion, reviewing other cell phone service providers, etc., etc., etc., we decided to lease her new phone. I get a loyalty credit plus other discounts with Sprint so it will be $16 per month additional on our bill and she's going to pay that to us each month. Not a bad amount -- it's reasonable for her since she only works about 5 hours each Saturday and it was the best option of the ones we looked at. So she ended up with an iPhone 6s. She's very happy and kept thanking us over and over yesterday. I have to say, both of our girls are SO appreciative of the things we and others do for them, and neither of them are greedy or "entitled" -- they are truly appreciative. I love them so much!
Yes glue guns are hot. The head piece is cute but big. I'd never be brave enough to wear it or any other hairpiece.
Lg's are good phones. My other job at work is cell phones and I do sell quite a few of them. Although cell phone contracts are few and far between since the carriers switched to installment plans. Hopefully Allie has better luck with her phone. I've seen a lot of broken screens even with screen covers.
Sorry V isn't feeling well. I hope she gets better soon.
I'm supposed to go to the auto show later on today and then stop at Kohl's on the way home. Right now I have to straighten up the house and finish the wash.
Have a good day.

Hey D! Just reading along and having a lazy weekend as well. I should have worked out Saturday but was just not in the mood. And then DH and I went for Mexican food last night; I ate terrible (too much and so good) and 2 margs - yikes! Mexican food here in San Antonio is just too too good. Chips and salsa really do me in.
I love your new adventure with the headbands. I foresee new projects in your future. I am not crafty at all, and when the kids had projects in high school and we used the glue gun - OUCH - that thing would always be out to get me. I know you will get the hang of it quickly. Good luck with your Halloween bag! I cannot wait to see it.
Cell phones and kids - they need them but they are so expensive. Shane dropped his a while back, and spent over $100 of his own money to fix it and it worked for a few months then bam, it would work 50/50. The repair was out of warranty so he used a half broken phone for a while; then we went in halves to buy a new LG. He is happy with it and is taking very good care of it. Now Tyler has a broken phone and he went and ordered a refurbished one. I hope its okay. Glad to hear Allison has a reliable phone now, but it was a long, expensive road. She has Europe coming up quickly.
Hope V's project gets done soon; I really detest projects. And hope she starts to get better soon.
When do you get to reserve ADR's?
Have you put any more thought into your Target job?
How's your Dad?
Have a wonderful week D! Good luck on your bags (and headbands!). I will be checking in.
Hugs, Carol
Phew....all caught up again....I am so so bad at this.
Your plans for V's trip look great! Two breakfasts at the Wave is totally necessary
Sorry your motivation has been struggling. Do you think it could be because you haven't been able to run? You love running and it seems to motivate you even more. Maybe once spring comes and you can get back out there, maybe things will get back to normal??
Oh that headband!
I think you have promise with it....just a bit smaller dear!
Love you!
I love the bow!!! What better place to wear an over the top bow than Disney!?
I admire your creativity, I have none. I could never make a bow let alone the bags you make, they look awesome. Our April trip is at CBR from 4/3-4/10, we are getting our annual pass on the April trip because we also have a magical deal for August, we are going 8/22-8/29 and staying at the GF, yippee. Our October trip is 10/9-10/16 at BWV and 10/16-10/18 at RPR at Universal, this is the year of Disney for us, so I love hearing about others planning and trips!
D the bow is amazing! I think it's adorable.
D,
The bow is awesome!! You're so creative!! Can you believe that Downton is over?? It was a great finale! It's sad that it's over though!
Thanks D! Yes I am!

I just want to clarify - I don't mind that kids have Iphones and other expensive phones - but like clothes/shoes/cars/anything material... I don't like it when there are kids who put others down for not having those items... And that is just the reality of life. I seriously doubt that any of our children would be that way - or treat others that way.And for that matter - the kids who were giving Allison a hard time about her phone - well, they are just bullies - plain and simple... If it wasn't her phone- they'd find someone/something else to pick apart. I was just a bit salty about it... It's not as if we couldn't afford to go out and buy those things - we could - it's just that we chose to teach a lesson and make her save the $$... So, I was/am a bit annoyed within that lesson - there was that other element that she had to deal with... I guess it's part of growing up, but it's never easy being a parent, or a kid.
In the end - I am very happy and relieved that both of our children were able to get phones and now they can communicate with us and their friends.![]()
Josh and I feel that this is a lesson that needs to be learned
Ugh! I'm getting a filling done today too! Not looking forward to it at all!
Have a great day!
I've fallen asleep during shows that I was really looking forward to watching, but not last night. I missed whatever the special show was that aired the hour before the Downton Abbey finale, but stayed awake for the entire show. I won't say a word about it until you get a chance to see it. I avoided all spoilers and I'm glad I did.
Good for you for doing a three mile walk. I was bad this weekend and didn't get out. I do better during the week when I do a lot more walking.
I am so with you on the whole cell phone thing. It kills me that they are so expensive these days when I can buy a tablet that does so much more...for less. Our family does not own or support ANY Apple products whatsoever. I think it's terrible that it seems each new phone requires a new adapter and accessories and we hate being locked into any one company product, so we own only PC and android devices at home. My daughter seems to be the ONLY one of her MIDDLE SCHOOL friends without an i-phone and it drives her nuts...but I refuse to cave on this. I buy my cell phones directly now, either on ebay or online somewhere, with NOT contracts on them and link them to my ATT plan. Right now I have a really nice Moto G 3rd Generation phone I bought directly from Motorola and it cost less than $200, then I gave my daughter my old Moto X phone, the last phone I had from ATT when I did contract phones. She just recently dropped it and despite the protector on it the screen shattered. However it still functions, we put a screen protector over the shattered glass screen, and she will continue to use it until she can afford another one because I think in her 2 or 3 years of cell phones this was phone number 4 for her. She is going to save up to buy her own now, as she should, but at least hers does function. I think it's terrible that kids (middle school is pretty bad) find anything to pick on, which is why I'm at least thankful my kids go to a middle/high school that requires uniforms, so one less thing to pick on them about.
LOVE the hair bow that you made and agree is it pretty big. We've done a few hair bows ourselves and it really is NOT easy at all so I commend you on that!
Enjoy your day and good luck at the dentist! Many I HATE those dental visits, even for just the cleaning stuff!
So true -- the kids that are going to give others a hard time will always find someone to pick on and something to pick on them about. Living where we do (wealthiest and most expensive county in the country -- we are definitely out of place here! LOL) there are always kids like that. I am SO grateful that our daughter has good friends who don't share that mentality and who are very grounded and down-to-earth in terms of all of that. There are so many more important things about a person besides what brand of clothing they wear, what kind of phone they have, and what kind of car they drive (or if they even have a car at all!). I'm grateful that our Brie has a good head on her shoulders and doesn't let her head get turned by that kind of stuff, and that she doesn't participate in it.
I'm excited to see how your Halloween bag turns out. What kinds of bag themes does V want you to make for her?
Yuck! I'm not a fan of dentists either. Good luck with that today.
I can't wait to see you outfits and bags and what V comes up with.
I think it's wise to get V's eyes checked so she can see clearly when driving.
Good luck at the dentist today.![]()
OK I can NOT WAIT to start reading your TR...Just scanned through the first page...you look like such a happy person! I just started planning our (probably) last trip as the 4 of us...because my kiddos are 21 and 15....so April we are doing it one last time! Cant wait to start reading your TR![]()
Ooh Looking forward ot seeing what bag idea V has for her trip! Good luck at the dentist today - I hate going there too! At least you will have DA to look forward to later tonight.
Have a great day!
Look at me go! Two in a row!!!
I can't wait to see your Halloween outfit! And V's too.
3 mile walk?! I bet that felt good
BRAVO! You are being an excellent parent. Kids do need to learn these things and unfortunately they usually need to learn the hard way. There are plenty of parents who don't have their kids learn these types of lessons and then they are ill prepared for life.
I love the bow you made. I can't believe it's your first try! You did a fantastic job.
I hope yours went well? I hate going in for dental work - I don't mind cleanings, but dental work I hate. I was in a lot of pain yesterday - after the novocain wore off, but I seem to be OK this morning... We'll see, because when I was chewing dinner last night - I was having a "nerve type" pain every time I chewed... I am fearful that whatever was done, made it worse. I guess I'll find out when I eat breakfast?
