They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

Thanks!! I'm trying to stop feeling guilty about the YC and just enjoy it... I was actually lucky enough to get almost $2000 from my university this year (from a residence fire) so with the 4/3 deal it payed for almost the whole trip! It was perfect timing. Truly makes me believe that blessings can come in unexpected ways... and that there's something to be found in every bad situation. It was a nightmare at the time though- no ID, no money, no clothing, no phones, no computers... I wore pajamas to class and lived in the student centre! Then later we got moved to a hotel (for 3 months!) and given money, so that helped morale a little.:rotfl:

After that I say there's no reason for feeling guilty about the YC. What a nightmare that must have been!! You certainly deserve some luxury:thumbsup2

The black n white picture is my favorite!!!!

Thanks!:goodvibes I'm so excited to do another photoshoot!

At the time, it was terrifying... it was the first fire I've ever been in, and I had nightmares for weeks. Even now, when my alarm goes off in the morning, I sometimes jump out of bed and head for the door thinking it's the smoke alarm. :scared: There were a number of students who ended up in the hospital, but luckily I woke up early and got out before I inhaled too much smoke. Everything was handled really well, though, and now I have the university to thank for our May trip!:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, today was crazy though! We are in the process of listing our old house (we moved over a year ago but rented the house to family) and today I had to drive out to our old town and we packed and surveyed and made lists of things to be fixed... But it's going to be a great feeling to finally have the house sold!! I was going to stop by at my grandparent's house because my grandpa is sick (had a heart attack recently and is now at home recovering from an infection on antibiotics) but the house situation took so long I ended up not having time. Then I got home and a doctor's appointment I was supposed to have later was rescheduled for Monday... but I'm working Monday with the kids. So I either have to cancel and rebook the appointment, which will be another month or so (which I really don't want to wait) OR I can call into the hospital on Monday and tell them I can't work, meaning I'll get written up for a missed shift. My supervisor isn't in tomorrow because it's Sunday... and my doctor also doesn't work Sundays. Aghh!!! And FINALLY, I got an email from my university saying they STILL haven't received a transcript they need which means I'll have to send for (and pay for) it again... and cross my fingers it makes the deadline for scholarship consideration.

Annnyyywaaays, I am thrilled that some of the May hours are up! Because the parades and fireworks schedules aren't all the way up though, I still don't know whether to go ahead and make some ADRs knowing I can cancel them, or wait. I'll wait until at least tomorrow, anyway. That means tonight I'll have to figure out what the last ADR will be!

I've decided 100% we're going to do the photo shoot again. I called my mom and she's in, so I've just got to figure out which day we can figure it in. Last trip we did it on the last day, which was kind of nice, so we might do that again. And I think we're going to go ahead and do it at the YC/BC.

One thing I am glad to know though, is that on our first night MK has EMH and will be open till midnight!! That will be a nice start to our vacation.

I wish I had more interesting updates to give, but I can't think of anything else that really needs to be done right now. Other than CANCELING OUR CRT ADR AND BOOKING THE ME which I STILL have not done yet.:rolleyes2

Well, in order to leave this mini-update on a happy note, here's a fun picture of DM and I in the little shop at RRC. This is what happens when we vacation together.:rotfl:

Oh good!! That's perfect! I tried to send you an email, I don't know if you got it, but if not let me know and I can PM you my email address!!

Busy, busy, busy, crazy day today... will update when I'm not feeling QUITE so..:crazy2: ...LOL

I just checked, but didn't see an email from you. PM me and I'll forward the confirmation email to you!!

Finally! A real update!!:cheer2:

Thanks to the May hours being posted, I have finally figured out a basic itinerary. Woo hoo!!! Because not all the parades, EMH, fireworks, etc haven't been added (I hope!!), it might change a little. But for now, I'm pretty happy with it! Here is how our trip is looking:

Another update for today! I bit the bullet and bought some matching Disney T shirts for DM and I! Disneyoutlets.com was still having their sale and... even though I had to pay almost $40.00 in shipping (OUCH!:crazy2: ), the order came to $75 total. That means each item was only about 7 bucks, not too bad at all. It is definitely a lot cheaper than buying the shirts once we get to the parks, so we will end up saving money! Plus I think they're cute.:goodvibes

We got these tees (2 each, so we'll match! Yes, we ARE those people:rotfl: )

B5601G0033M

B5701F0012M

B5701F0013M

58801M

Then my mom chose this sweatshirt:

B5702F0003M

And I chose this one:

B5702F0001M

Not so bad for just over $70 with shipping included!:thumbsup2

Ughh I can't get the pictures to work, it's only linking to pictures instead. Oh well. I'll take pictures once they get here!

Oooh, Child and Family Therapy sounds so interesting!! What are you going to school for?

I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology for my Bachelor's Degree. For my Master's Degree, I will be doing Career Counseling-I want to basically be an Academic Advisor.

Your schedule looks great! We always leave plenty of relaxy time too!

I love the shirts! I'm heading to the Disney Outlet now to see what I can find!!!

That's neat! Sounds like we're doing similar things... I'm getting my undergrad in Social Work, but I'm planning on getting my MSW once I'm finished. My undergrad program also has a concurrent ECE component, which is great because I want to work with kids. How are you liking psych/socio?:goodvibes

I figure if we're bored, we can always head back out to the parks!! Last time we didn't schedule enough relaxing time and got a little worn out a few days in! Plus part of the reason we picked the YC was because of the pool so I want to really be able to enjoy it.

The Disney Outlet has some great prices!! Although now I have an embarrassingly large collection of Disney shirts. Once I get the new batch, I might have to post a fashion show.:rotfl:

Oh how cool! As I stated in my '08 TR, I did my internship in the summer '08 at our Lutheran Social Services so I was working with social workers!

I love psychology!! Way back when, I wasn't orginally majoring in psychology and then after taking a psychology class, I fell in love.

Same here!! I was originally planning on majoring in communications with a minor in health studies... but I took a social work class as an elective and fell in love!!

What were you studying before?

Just a little off topic add in: my undergrad is in psych, my Masters is in Mental Health Counseling and I have my social work license. Carry on.....;)

:thumbsup2 Itinerary looks great! I am still working on ours.

Oh that's so cool! I spent a while deliberating between psychology and social work, but went with social work because I can get a diploma in ECE at the same time with the program at my school. What kind of counseling do you do? Counseling is something I'm really interested in... So many people have this image of social workers are people with briefcases who work for children's aid... and while that's certainly a really respectable career path, there are so many options! Sorry, I could probably talk your ear off about this:rotfl: but I get really excited about it.

I just can't wait until the Wishes schedule comes out... then we can finally finalize our itinerary.

Oh! And I called and made 2 ADRs today. May 3 at Teppan Edo, 6:30 and May 6 at 'Ohana, 9:30. Yay! I feel like we're finally getting somewhere!

Now what I have left to do:

- Figure out the rest of our ADRs
- Book Magical Express
- Book Keys to the Kingdom Tour
- Book Photo Session (30 days out)
- Call to confirm ASMu ressie... have the confirmation number given over the phone a week ago but still no email
- Buy clear plastic inner tubes (for Stormalong Bay)
- Decide on room requests
- Finalize itinerary
- Work out semi-touring plans (am trying to be more relaxed this trip!)
- Get my camera back (STILL!! at my friend's apartment)
- Figure out driving directions to Buffalo Airport
- Figure out the whole parking/border/driving/car situation
- Get new passport picture taken

And that's all I can think of... for now.:lmao:

Ooo...you got an ADR for Teppan Edo. I think I am going to make and ADR there too. Of course when my 90 day mark rolls around (OCTOBER! :hyper: ) I probably will have changed my mind 100 times.

I love the tees you picked out. You will look so stylish! :goodvibes

Your ADR's look good too. I am so ready to make mine!! :cool1:

Haha, that's so funny!

I was studying to be a dental hygienist and then I started working part-time at a dental office....and quickly changed my mind after assisting the dentist a few times. I just decided that cleaning people's teeth for the rest of my life really wasn't meant for me.

It will come quicker than you think!! I really like Teppan Edo... the food is great, fun atmosphere and the chefs were really interactive with us. It's amazing to watch them work. I would definitely give it a try!

Thanks! The tees were all either 3.99 or 4.99 each and the sweatshirts were 4.90... and the flip flops were the cheapest at 1.99! It's a good thing my brother isn't coming on our May trip though... he was absolutely horrified to have to "match" with everyone and all he had to wear was a white polo and jeans.:rotfl:

Not much longer until yours ADRS-approach-you! (LOL did you catch that?:rotfl2: I think I was up a little late last night, my humor suffers when I'm tired). Exciting!!

Well it's a good thing you didn't graduate and then realize dental hygiene wasn't for you! It sounds like the path you've chosen sounds perfect for you!:goodvibes I'm absolutely terrified of dental hygienists though, I HATE getting my teeth cleaned. I hate the noise/feeling of the little scraping things on my teeth... not being able to swallow... keeping my mouth open... it petrifies me.:rotfl: I have to go in soon and I'm dreading it.:scared:

I've got a full day in the pool today... I'm super tired so I'm a little bit dreading it... but I'm sure once I get there it'll be fine. At least the water is kept at 96 degrees! It's almost like swimming in a warm bath.

Oh! And we decided last night to add the water park option to our tickets, because we're going to TL for a day anyways, going to DTD where we might as well check out DisneyQuest (we've never been) and maybe we'll squeeze in a little Blizzard Beach just to see what it's like? I'm totally a water park person but my poor DM isn't. I've got to remember to be extra nice to her on Mother's Day because of this!:flower3:

Yeah, I'm so glad i took that dentist job BEFORE I graduated so I was able to switch majors way ahead of time. :thumbsup2

I hate having my teeth cleaned too! That noise...feeling...ugh. :crazy2: So good luck to you when you go! Just pretend it's me cleaning them and maybe that'll help. Haha. :)

Glad I'm not the only one! If you can do it, so can I.:thumbsup2

Ahhhhh I am so so so tired right now. I want to take a nap, but I'm afraid I'll fall asleep for the night and miss Jon and Kate Plus Eight. I'm kind of a fan.:lmao: But I have to be up early tomorrow so maybe I should just go to sleep now.

Oh, I feel old going to bed before 9pm LOL
