They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

OMGosh! Where have I been? I can't believe I didn't know you could finally shop on dsw.com :worship: Holy cow! I must check this out!!!

I :lovestruc that outfit! Your mini TR is great too! That Tonga Toast is making me hungry! :goodvibes I have never had it... I must see if I can get some on my next trip!

Thanks! And I know, it's so fun to get mentioned in people's PTRs!:lmao: I love it!

OH! And I found the shoes for you online for only $29.95! Here's the link:

http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/catalog/product.jsp?category=cat20034&prodId=174205

:rolleyes1

OMG, you did NOT just post a link to the :worship: sandals!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!

I've bookmarked them, but I'm having to resist a little until I get some bills paid first. I bought some American Eagle stuff online the other day (using my 40% coupon :woohoo: ), and so I need to resist shiny, pretty things right now until I pay off "important" things.

But those sandals are seriously calling my name.... Where the heck is that tax refund when you need it? :rolleyes1

I haven't posted in quite some time! Sorry about that - getting over this flu has been a real bummer.

I'm finally caught up on all your great outfits! I LOVE the AK day one - that brown shirt is just beautiful. I just bought DD a new "AK day" shirt a few weeks back at Forever21- it's a brown tank with some beading around the collar. Looks very Animal Kingdom-y!

Lasy year, DD wore a tennis outfit to Epcot 'cause she thought it looked "Future World-y" - I told her it looked like she got lost on the way to her tournament. Wouldn't you know, we saw 3 other women in similar outfits that day. Each time I would say to DD, "Hey, look it's your double's partner -they're lost, too!" :lmao: You can see the outfits she chose in my TR from last year (link below).

We both pick out our outfits ahead of time, decide which park/day we'll wear them, then pack them as whole outfits into ziplock bags & label them. I guess DD & I are a bit OCD, huh?:rotfl:

But, seriously, those ziplocked bags make more room in the suitcase, keep the wrinkles away, and keep items dry in case of spillage, etc. And the ziplocks come in handy for packaging up stuff for the trip home, too!:thumbsup2

Your outfits are all really cute! I love the DSW sandals. DD & I will have to make a trip to our local DSW soon. I think our club card came with a few coupons...:rolleyes1

Cute Outfit! And I've been hearing so much about Tonga Toast...I might just have to get some on our Resort Hopping Day!

I wish I could order from the site, it looks awesome! Unfortunately they don't ship to Canada... although that might be a good thing because I see so many shoes I like!

I :lovestruc that outfit! Your mini TR is great too! That Tonga Toast is making me hungry! :goodvibes I have never had it... I must see if I can get some on my next trip!

You have got to try some, it is delicious. And posting little bits of previous trips is really fun... hopefully it will make the time go by faster!:yay:

You're welcome! I hope your tax refund gets to you quickly... shoes are important things!:rotfl: And wow, did you get 40% off your whole order at American Eagle? You must post what you got!:goodvibes

Oh, don't worry about it! I'm really sorry you're still sick.

I think I'm going to do the whole Ziplock bag thing. Some of the shorts I'm wearing more than once, but it should still help organize my packing a LOT. I love attention to detail like that.:thumbsup2

I laughed out loud at your tennis outfit story... when I was about 12 I saw a tennis dress for sale in the American Girl catalogue that I wanted soooooo bad and I begged my mom to get it for me. I never played tennis, but I thought people just wore tennis dresses out and about.:rotfl: I was in love with that dress. :lovestruc I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I'm going to head over to your PTR to check out pictures. You and your daughter sound just like me and my mother.:goodvibes

Cute Outfit! And I've been hearing so much about Tonga Toast...I might just have to get some on our Resort Hopping Day!

All these people who have never tried Tonga Toast?!:rotfl2: You definitely have to try some! I think I ate it every morning in December.popcorn::

So there's been a little bit of slacking on my end today and no new outfit. Tomorrow I'll get one posted though! I was busy, busy, busy all day... at the hospital in the playroom:lovestruc so I haven't had a chance.

So I'll do one of my mini TR things from our July trip instead. I have to practice my TR writing skills anyways! LOL

This mini TR will be in a few different parts because it is my whole favourite day of our last trip. In the middle of the week, my dad and brother had plans to go to a football game in Tampa. Well, my mom and I took this opportunity to have a "girls day" at WDW. We fit in all the things we really wanted to do... character breakfast, tea at the GF, MK EMH, dinner at Narcoossee's... we really lived it up. While it was nice having the whole family at WDW, my mom and I are the real Disney fans so it was great having a day to ourselves to do whatever we wanted to do and not hear any complaining about walking, standing, crowds, lines, the cost of a water bottle:rotfl2: etc.

We started the day off with an early (to us LOL) ADR at 1900 PF for 8:30.

IMG_0404.jpg

I have to admit... I was not really a fan of the breakfast food here. I'm glad we did the meal because the Mad Hatter was a blast and we got to see Pooh twice! But I've definitely had better buffets at WDW.

My plate- the strawberry soup was actually delicious:

IMG_0385-1.jpg

The characters were great. First came Pooh:

IMG_0386.jpg

And then right behind him was Tigger:

IMG_0389.jpg

Mary Poppins was next (with my mom and I trying to figure out if her accent was real or not :rotfl: )

IMG_0393.jpg

And then the star of the show, the Mad Hatter! He yelled at me for "mocking him" because I tried to do the same pose as him but I had no collar on my shirt. He was a blast! My mom got away with it though, because she actually HAD a collar.

IMG_0394.jpg

IMG_0395.jpg

Pooh came back and circled around again so this time I got my picture with him:

IMG_0398.jpg

And finally.... Snow White! Unfortunately Alice wasn't there... but Snow White is one of my DM's favourite princesses so we were okay with it.

IMG_0401.jpg

We left the Grand Floridian and headed straight to the Magic Kingdom. It was a pretty busy day there and when we entered the gates I wanted to check out Exposition Hall because I'd heard sometimes characters hang out in there. No characters, but we still had a great time! They have a screen that plays cartoon clips and fun cutouts that we got pictures with.

It was a fun way to start the day!

Finally, as we walked up Main Street we got these pictures with the castle. I love the holiday decorations! This day had perfect weather so the blue sky looks so pretty with Cinderella's Castle.

And so, our Girls Day had begun!

So you liked 1900 Park Fare? I am always worried that I am not fancy enough for it....

What a fun girls day!!! I would love to go with my mom and sister some day (and maybe my brother will have a wife by then). We'll have to wait til my sister is a little more "grown up" though (she's almost 12) so we'll all have similar interests. :)

I just found your PTR and am looking forward to getting caught up! So far it is very entertaining and getting me more and more excited for our trip the same time as yours. We will be driving from Boston on 4/28 with a stop in NC and arrive at the POP on 4/30 for 2 nights then we will be staying at our time share until the 9th. I am traveling with my 2 kids 5&3, DH and parents. We are doing the Premium package while we are at the POP so we are looking forward to that. Will not be doing much at the parks until 5/3 because we have plenty of activities planned with the package.

Can't wait to read more!:)

I wouldn't worry about that at all. It really isn't a "fancy" place. There are tons of people in shorts and t shirts, flip flops, hair up and sweaty from a day in the parks. I am totally comfortable there.:thumbsup2 It's a ton of fun and I really like it!

It's so much fun.:goodvibes I just love our mother daughter trips. I wish I had a sister we could bring with us (my brother doesn't have the Disney gene LOL) but we make do! You would have so much fun.

Hello! And welcome!!!:dance3: I'm so excited to have a new reader.:goodvibes

Oh my gosh, lucky you doing the Premium package! What kinds of things are you going to take advantage of?! Are you going to write a PTR? You should!:goodvibes They are kind of intimidating at first, but so fun. They make the planning so much more exciting. It sounds like you have a great trip planned, though! Do you live in Boston? I visited about... 3 years ago. It's a beautiful city!:lovestruc

And now, for a new outfit! I had another busy day so it's taken me a while to post this, but this is my idea for our second last day. It will be split between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

I'm going to try and finish part 2 of our Girls Day in a bit. I won't be able to update tomorrow because my mom and I have decided to go on an impromptu shopping trip! We're going to drive down to Niagara Falls (I LOVE the Falls), hang out there for a bit, then cross the border and have lunch at IHOP and go shopping at Target and a few other stores we don't have in Canada. Depending on the weather and how late it is, we may or may not stay overnight in a hotel and come back the next morning. I am soooo excited for IHOP!! It's been over two years since the last time I ate there and it is actually one of my favourite restaurants LOL.

Should be fun!

Love the Mickey shirt!! Have a great shopping trip with your Mom! Sounds like you two will have a fabulous time! Can't wait to see what you buy!!

I am new to this board so I don't know about writing my own PTR. I live about 25 min South of Boston. We are actually trying to sell our house and hopefully move to Georgia!! We will see what happens. Our Disney trip is planned around also going to GA to look at houses and for jobs so we are taking about a 3 week trip. I can't wait.

As far as the Premium package goes. We decided to do it because we were already planning on going to CRT, Akershus and at least one other Character meal. We were also thinking of going to Cirque as well. So when I added up all of those it was worth adding the Premium package for the 1 night with our 9 day tickets. We are getting to POP late on the 30th so we didn't want to waste that day with the PP. So we will have to check out and then check in again. But hopefully with the new online check in it won't be too bad. I hope it won't anyways because i was told the earliest we could check in was 7:30 and we have ressie's at Akershus at 8:30am. princess: So that is where our crazy 2 days will begin!:yay: I told my husband to be prepared for the first two days because he will never sit down until our 3rd day.

this is what we have planned so far: breakfast at Aker, Segway tour around the World in Epcot, Golf both days for DH, Cirque, Preferred viewing for Illuminations, Behind the Steam Engines MK (parents), Paresailing, breakfast CRT, renting boats, Carriage rides FW, Hoop Dee Doo and preferred viewing for Wishes. What do you think? Who is going to start betting to see if we can get it all in?

Have a good time on your mini shopping trip!!! :goodvibes

Thank you! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes!:goodvibes

Oh my gosh, you have quite some ambitious plans!:rotfl: But they sound amazing. I absolutely love Cirque, I've seen it twice and it is just amazing. I haven't done the train tour but I've read really good things about it. Parasailing sounds like so much fun and you've picked two great character meals.:thumbsup2

Oh, and the Segway tour looks soooo fun too. I would love to do that one some day!!!

Trust me, I felt like kind of a nobody when I started this PTR... I was so afraid not a single person would read it!:scared: I didn't really know anyone on the DIS and I almost deleted my first post one I hit "submit"... but now I LOVE posting and reading everyone else's pre trippies! Whatever you decide to do, I'm glad to "meet" you! :goodvibes

Apparently I'm on some kind of posting rampage tonight:laughing: because I've decided to continue with our Girls day!

I left off with us walking down Main Street USA and getting out pictures taken by the lovely Photopass CMs.

We spent a little bit of time wandering and hopped on a few rides. We started in Tomorrowland with Space Mountain:

IMG_0412.jpg

You can't tell in the picture but it said there was a 10 minute wait... we grabbed FPs and then walked right on!

Now, I am a HUGE Space Mountain fan but my mom really just rides it to humor me. I could ride that thing over and over! Once we were done we hopped on the TTA and rode twice without getting off. Boy am I going to miss that ride in May!:sad1:

After exiting the TTA, we headed toward Fantasyland. Suddenly we realized we were walking right behind Scrooge McDuck! Of course, we had to follow him to get a picture.

image113.jpg

image115.jpg

And then we headed straight for Cinderella's Carousel since it had no wait either. We were thrilled because this was December 21... getting close to Christmas and the crowds were great! This was our first time riding and it won't be our last. Such a fun, classic ride. I think we were the only adults on it but oh well! LOL

IMG_0421.jpg

Then we were just in time for PhilharMagic. This is one of my favourite attractions in the MK. It's simple, but it is just so DISNEY!

IMG_0422.jpg

Once we were done with PhilharMagic, we browsed through some of the Fantasyland shops and then realized it was time for our ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. We had finished breakfast not too long ago, so we weren't that hungry. Cheeseburgers and salads were ordered but neither of us could finish them! We skipped on dessert too, even though we were on the DDP. The food was deelish though.

IMG_0425-1.jpg

IMG_0426-1.jpg

After paying the bill... it was time for Splash Mountain! I love this ride so much I have the whole soundtrack on my iPod.

IMG_0428.jpg

It didn't disappoint!

We headed to the Haunted Mansion next, which was perfect because it was air conditioned. It was a hot day and we were both wearing pants! Neither of us had thought to bring shorts since we thought it would be chilly in December. Whoops!

IMG_0429.jpg

After the Haunted Mansion, I was beat. I don't know why, but suddenly all the noise and the heat and the standing had gotten to me and I had a huge headache. Looking at the Times Guide, we realized it was almost time for Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas in Tomorrowland. I thought a sit down would be nice so I took some Advil and we scooted over to Tomorrowland as quickly as possible. We scored some shaded seating and sipped on water as we waited for the show to start. It was a really cute show. We skipped it at MVMCP so we could fit in more rides, so I'm glad we caught it afterwards.

IMG_0433.jpg

IMG_0435.jpg

We were right beside Space Mountain so we figured we could squeeze it in with our FPs before taking the boat launch over to the GF for tea. Have you noticed yet how many ADRs we had to fit in today? LOL there were four!! I don't think I've ever been so full at Disney.

IMG_0437.jpg

Yes... we are guilty of being late FastPass users...

We took a few more Photopass pictures before heading to the launch.

image118.jpg

image119.jpg

As you might have noticed, we are kind of theme park wanderers. We could probably save a lot of time if we had a plan and didn't go from land to land constantly, but we are always going "oh! I kind of want to do ____" and then "oh! let's go over there!" and end up retracing our steps a million times. Oh well, gives us a chance to walk off all the food! LOL
I just love the boat ride over, it is so pretty and peaceful. On our walk into the main building I snapped this picture of the fountain:

IMG_0439.jpg

We headed inside and placed our orders. I got chamomile tea (it was delicious) and my mom got the Signature Blend. She gets the same thing every time. The tea room itself really is gorgeous. It's so pretty and relaxing.

IMG_0442-1.jpg

IMG_0443-1.jpg

Neither of us were very hungry so we just got scones and strawberries to share. Both were delicious though.
IMG_0447-1.jpg

Once we were done with the tea, we walked back to the Poly on the path. It was time for a nap, swim and some freshening up before our dinner at Narcoossee's and Extra Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom!
