Love it!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So. We are back from our mini-vacation and it was SO much fun. We had a great time. The drive down was great, it was sunny and there was practically no traffic! The first thing we did was stop at IHOP. We checked the internet before we left and it turns out they have opened an IHOP in Canada in Niagara Falls! So we decided to go there because we were going to check out the Falls anyway.

We got an order of Harvest Grain 'N Nut Pancakes and an order of has browns and split them. It looks kinda boring but was soooo yummy.

IMG_0955.jpg

It was hilarious, on our way out of the restaurant the people at the table beside us stopped us and were like "We don't mean to bother you, but umm... why were you taking pictures of your pancakes?" LOL I wanted to tell him it was because they were famous pancakes but I restrained myself.

Me, happy at IHOP:

From there we drove straight to the Falls. We drove down Clifton Hill, which is the entertainment district before the Falls themselves.

There was a California license plate in the parking lot where we parked our car! Wow, that would be quite a drive.

IMG_0993.jpg

The pictures really don't do the Falls justice, they are just breathtaking. I tried to snap a few good ones anyway.

The bridge to America. See the mist on the windshield?

And finally... we made it!!!

I don't have enough room in this post, but I'll post what I got on the shopping trip tomorrow! It was funny because the only place we ended up going was Target. All in all though, it was a great day! I wish I had better pictures of the waterfalls, but there wasn't really any wind to blow the mist away so I couldn't get a picture of the full horseshoe. The pictures on Google Image are a lot better LOL.

Check this out:

So pretty in the summertime!

Looks like you had a great day! I haven't been to the falls since I was a little kid. I definitely would go in the summer!! Not a fan of the cold. I just got back from my 2 hour trip to Target by myself. I love my alone trips I get lost in there. Got the kids some disney stuff in the dollar spot for their goody bags for our long drive to WDW. And now I am enjoying my new Kenny Rogers greatest hits CD. I know I am strange. Love him though. I actually saw him in concert when I was little in Canada. Toronto maybe? Is there such a thing as the World fair. I can't remember I was young. Now I am just going on and on it is time to get some sleep I guess! Good night

Wow!! I've been to the falls a few times, but only in the summer. The falls are gorgeous in the winter with all of the snow and ice. How pretty!

Soooo, whadya buy at Target?? I love Target! :lovestruc There is one about a mile away from me. It's well within walking distance..uh oh!! Target is Emily's favorite store too. If I ask her, "What do you want to do today?", her reply is always, "Target!" I've created a monster!

I love the pictures! :lovestruc I've never been to the Falls. Actually, I've never been out of the south. LOL I'm so sheltered. :lmao: I love that the people asked about you taking pictures of your pancakes. You should have told them they are such good pancakes that I want to always remember them, so I took a picture. :rotfl: I love target! It's my favorite place to shop. I wish we had a super Target so I could get my groceries there too. I'd never shop anywhere else. Hayden Harnett has some cute Target purses now too. They aren't real leather of course but they are cute bags.

Pretty there at the Falls, but see that white stuff behind you? That's my idea of Hell. I *hate* snow!

Girl, it's cold out of the South! And the food's not as good, unless you really like Mexican, then the food in SoCAL is pretty good (but not a grit, country ham, or fried okra in sight. :sad2: )

The falls look so pretty!!! But so very cold. What did you tell the guy when he asked why you were taking pictures of your food? :rotfl:

Your mini trip looks like it was fun! And you got some great pics of the Falls. Y'all look cold though! :)

I  me some IHOP. It's actually sad how excited I get about going to IHOP for dinner. Stuffed french toast.....yum!

That's just sad!! No grits or okra? :sad1: I couldn't live...but I do love mexican!!

Oh, WOW I've missed a lot.... Okay, here's me catching up:

Your girls' day with your mom in WDW looked like fun! I  breakfast at 1900 Park Fare because Alice and the Mad Hatter are two of my favorite characters. We had a blast with them when we went a couple of years ago. :goodvibes I love the pics of you and your mom with the Mad Hatter!

And I've never had tea at GF, but the tea room looks so pretty! :cloud9: I definitely have to put that on our to-do list for future trips!

Love the last outfit you posted. The necklace is really pretty!

Your IHOP/Niagara Falls/Target trip sounds like it was a lot of fun! IHOP is soooooo yummy, and Target is crazy awesome. I could spend three weeks pay there in just one visit! :lmao: I can't wait to see your shopping finds!

And I've never been to Niagara Falls, but WOW! It looks so gorgeous! Your pictures are really amazing!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed your mini-TR from your last trip. Cute pics too -- you and your Mom look so much alike! It looks like you guys had such a great time. I'm envious. If I attempted to do that w/ my Mom, I might just wind up leaving her somewhere. :sad2:

WOW!! That image of Niagara Falls in the summer is spectacular!!

So I was driving back from my test this morning & passed 2 vans from Canada (reminded me of you). It's gonna be 40*F for the high today. I'm in a long-sleeved t-shirt, hoodie, & my coat with the heat blasting. I look over at the driver of one of the vans, and he's in a t-shirt! Short sleeves! :cold:

I guess 40 is balmy this time of year though...

Oh My Goodness! What great updates! :) I love your Mom/Daughter day update and I've never seen pictures of the tea room, so that was exciting. And Niagra Falls is GORGEOUS! I would love to go someday. And guess what! My mom and I had a shopping day on Saturday too! :) I actually thought about posting on your thread that you'd inspired me to shop!

I love the dollar spot, it's so neat! I am a huge Target fan.

Montreal held the Expo or World Fair in 1967, maybe that's what you're remembering? Montreal is such a beautiful city, I love it there. I do like Toronto but Montreal has so much culture and history.:goodvibes

Every time Kenny Rogers is mentioned the first thing that pops into my head is the Seinfeld episode with Kenny Rogers chicken.:rotfl:

Wow!! I've been to the falls a few times, but only in the summer. The falls are gorgeous in the winter with all of the snow and ice. How pretty!

Oooh I got a bunch of things at Target, I'll post them soon! That's so cute about Emily! You've trained her well. I'm kind of bummed that we don't have anything comparable to Target in Canada. Well, maybe Zellers I guess... but it is definitely not as good.

I love the pictures! :lovestruc I've never been to the Falls. Actually, I've never been out of the south. LOL I'm so sheltered. :lmao: I love that the people asked about you taking pictures of your pancakes. Well you've been to the World Showcase, right? That must count for something.:rotfl2: You should just start telling people you've been to Canada, England, France, Morocco, Germany, Norway, Japan, China... see if you can bribe the CMs to stamp your REAL passport LOL.

The Falls really are pretty.:lovestruc The city of Niagara Falls itself isn't so nice though IMO. A lot of it is pretty run down. The entertainment area is fun but I don't think I would want to live there. It would be nice to be so close to the border though!

Pretty there at the Falls, but see that white stuff behind you? That's my idea of Hell. I *hate* snow!

Girl, it's cold out of the South! And the food's not as good, unless you really like Mexican, then the food in SoCAL is pretty good (but not a grit, country ham, or fried okra in sight. )

Yeah, it was a coooooold day! I definitely prefer the Falls in the summer although the snow and ice are pretty.

Haha I've never had grits, country ham or fried okra. I don't even know what country ham or fried okra are LOL. I've seen grits at Disney but have never been brave enough to try them... they look kind of yucky to me *ducks*.

The falls look so pretty!!! But so very cold. What did you tell the guy when he asked why you were taking pictures of your food? :rotfl:

Well I tend to start babbling when I'm embarrassed, so I told him that I had a habit of taking pictures of my food from our visits to Disney World just for fun because the presentation is so nice and then from there my obsession has grown to almost any restaurant we are eating out at and since we weren't from Niagara Falls it was kind of like we were on a mini vacation so I figured why not and took some and....

Of course, I fit all that into about 5 seconds of speech LOL!

Your mini trip looks like it was fun! And you got some great pics of the Falls. Y'all look cold though! :)

I  me some IHOP. It's actually sad how excited I get about going to IHOP for dinner. Stuffed french toast.....yum!

Yeah, we were FREEZING! Some people were covered in a layer of ice from the mist freezing on their coats! It was crazy.

I've never had stuffed french toast at IHOP. Sounds amazing though. I guess we'll have to go back soon! I've never had anything from their lunch/dinner menu, is it good?

BRRRR! You guys made me cold!

Just thought I would share some of our lovely Canadian weather with you guys!:lmao:

That's just sad!! No grits or okra? I couldn't live...but I do love mexican!!

Nope, neither. But we DO have back bacon (I think you guys call it Canadian bacon?), poutine (fries with cheese and gravy YUM), maple sugar candy, Coffee Crisp chocolate bars and other yummy things!:goodvibes

Oh, WOW I've missed a lot.... Okay, here's me catching up:

Hi, Emily!!

I think I DID spend three weeks' pay in there LOL. Especially since there are so many things we can't buy in Canada, it's hard not to dump everything in the store into the cart.

The tea is awesome, one of my favourite parts of our WDW trip. You should definitely try it!

Oh my goodness, your trip is getting soooooooo close! How many more days for you? You must be excited!!!

I really enjoyed your mini-TR from your last trip. Cute pics too -- you and your Mom look so much alike! It looks like you guys had such a great time. I'm envious. If I attempted to do that w/ my Mom, I might just wind up leaving her somewhere.

WOW!! That image of Niagara Falls in the summer is spectacular!!

People tell us all the time that we look alike but I don't really see it? In some pictures I see a similarity but not really in real life. I'm flattered though, I think my mom is beautiful.:lovestruc Hopefully I'll get the rest of the mini report done soon!

So I was driving back from my test this morning & passed 2 vans from Canada (reminded me of you). It's gonna be 40*F for the high today. Haha that's so funny! I usually break out the T shirts once it hits 0 (32*F) but I do wear a coat over top!! Did you catch which province the license plate was from?

Oh My Goodness! What great updates! :) I love your Mom/Daughter day update and I've never seen pictures of the tea room, so that was exciting. And Niagra Falls is GORGEOUS! I would love to go someday. And guess what! My mom and I had a shopping day on Saturday too! :) I actually thought about posting on your thread that you'd inspired me to shop!

Yay, I've inspired shopping!:cheer2: LOL. I'd love to read about your shopping day... that's so cool we both had our shopping days at the same time. Where did you go?

I'm surprised the tea room isn't posted about more, it's a really beautiful place to take a break from the parks and not too expensive either! I really love it there!

Ah! I gotta catch up! Your pics are so great! Yay mini TRs!

I love how close you and your mom are! I am super close with my mother and I love seeing all your pics together! :cutie:

That strawberry soup looks cute! I would have totally tried some if I saw it! I want to have my first Mickey waffle this trip. Everything looks so yummy!

My goal is to meet Mary Poppins. I have yet to meet her at Disney World. I don't want to do any character dining, so I will be crossing my fingers. I am a nanny and she is my fave! :lovestruc

I used to live in Erie, PA and I always want to go up to Niagra Falls. I have this thing for waterfalls! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing the pictures!

I love your next outfit! That necklace is great!

I too am in love with Target! I love their sales! I can spend forever in there! I made them my pharmacy just for another reason to go. Haha. :cutie:

The strawberry soup is totally delicious. My favourite thing at 1900 Park Fare!

I love Mary Poppins.:lovestruc I've met her twice and she is always so lovely! That's so neat you are a nanny, I didn't know that!

Haha I love that you made Target your pharmacy! Mine's at a boring old drugstore. Blegh.:lmao:

So. I'm going to continue with the mini shopping trip report! I had just left off where we had arrived in New York. The customs officer at the border gave us great directions and we got to Target within about 15 minutes! We spent about 2 hours in Target just browsing and checking things out. You Americans are so lucky, there are SO many products in the US that haven't been released in Canada! It's so exciting to see all of them!:rotfl:

Once we were done shopping we grabbed a pepperoni pizza and Sierra Mist to split. We don't have Sierra Mist in Canada so I wanted to try it.:goodvibes It's pretty good!

IMG_1051.jpg

IMG_1050.jpg

We got back on the highway to drive back to Canada. Once we crossed the border we were going to stop at the Sir Isaac Brock monument in St. Catherine's, but we were both tired so we decided to just keep on driving home. I had one of the bags with me in the front seat, so I decided to take some pictures of the things I'd bought. We got some clothes but they were in another bag... and I got some really cute underwear but I'm not posting it.

These lip glosses were both a dollar:

IMG_1052.jpg

I was so excited to see this one because I kind of have a Peeps obsession! LOL A few years ago my dog was in the kitchen while I was eating and was trying to get one, so I tried to give him one... he wasn't a fan haha.

IMG_1053.jpg

HPIM2723.jpg

I did torture him for just a minute to get this picture. Isn't he a sweetie?

HPIM2721-1.jpg

This stuff is AMAZING. I love it so far. I've been using it a few days and my skin has improved so much. I would make the trip back across the border just for this little jar!!
IMG_1055.jpg

I did get a little caught up in the As Seen on TV section... and I bought both Smooth Away and ShamWOW!:rotfl:

IMG_1056.jpg

If you're wondering whether or not the Smooth Away works... well, not really. If you go back and forth over the same spot again and again and again eventually it does but shaving is so much faster!

I opened it up to test it in the car. The line to cross the border was long so I figured why not? I probably looked so strange to anyone in the cars beside us looking in LOL.

IMG_1057.jpg

I could NOT get a good picture of this but it's a circle that says "faith" at the bottom and there's a little cross hanging in the middle. I'm wearing it right now!

IMG_1058.jpg

The last thing in the bag was this travel pillow. SO comfy. I am totally using it for our May Disney trip!
IMG_1060.jpg

And that's everything from bag number one!!

I noticed while we were waiting at the border that we could see across Lake Ontario to the skyline of Toronto! Kind of neat, huh? The picture is super zoomed in so that's why it's blurry.

IMG_1059.jpg

We caught a beautiful sunset on the drive home!

IMG_1065.jpg

Then we stopped at Tim Horton's for sandwiches, yum!! I got the Turkey Bacon Club on whole wheat.

IMG_1067.jpg

I was having camera issues on the final stretch, but finally we made it home!! My city at night:

IMG_1068.jpg

A lot of people don't like the lights on the CN Tower but I think they are really cool. It looks so pretty at night!

That's all for now!

And guess what?

ONLY 57 MORE DAYS TILL DISNEY!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!
