They SAID they wanted to "bend over backwards." I should have KNOWN!

I disagree that a call at 9:30 PM is courteous. Disney is a family place, and many, many kids go to be between 8 & 9, even while on vacation.

And it was NOT Guest Services calling to ask if everything was going well, which at least would have been nice. It was Room Service, asking if they were done with the dishes. Totally different, and totally unnecessary. Especially since they had been told to leave them in the hall when finished.

Good point Gillian. I went back and re-read what the OP said that room service had said to her on the phone. If they had been calling to see if the food had been satisfactory, was there anything else they needed etc. that would be a courtesy call. Calling to see if they were done with their dishes sounds like laziness to me. Someone didn't want to waste a trip upstairs to check to see if their dishes were in the hall yet. (Or at least that's my take on it.) As Eeyore0062 said I think that by the time the Op and her family had had to deal with the unclean room, waiting so long for a crib, no room service menu etc. that the call aggravated her that much more. I don't mean to put words in her mouth but I know when I have a day when things seem to be going wrong all day that I reach a point where even a small aggravation will either make me want to scream or cry. I also think that even though vacations are supposed to be and most of the time are relaxing, that there are also some stressful moments because you plan and dream about your trip for a long time and let's face it invest a good bit of $$ going to WDW and you/me/we just do have high expectations.

That is EXACTLY how I felt. By the time we got settled I was ready to cry. You want a "magical" vacation for your family and having DH threatening to spank DD (which is mildly amusing because he's never done it!) because he is so frustrated with the "World" is not the way I want to end the day.

I have been reading everyone's posts, even though I have not responded. The rate I paid for the hotel is not relevant. This is a deluxe resort. Period. Not a deluxe resort only for those people paying more than $200 a night. I don't remember complaining about the view. I didn't want an upgrade. It would have been completely wasted on us - we don't care about that. When we arrive at the room at 7:30 pm and leave the next morning at 7 am, all I ask is for a clean room that is stocked the way it should be (toilet paper, menu's, towels, etc.).

During my first thread I tried to go with the flow and appreciate each person's comments. But now I have to say, c'mon already - get off my back. WL let us down. Regardless of whether you agree with my original issues, they promised to deliver a "special" cleaning and thoroughly failed. I don't think ANYONE here would be happy with their stay - whether they paid $100 or $300. (And for the record - WL was $109. All Stars is currently $49 - a friend stayed there yesterday.)

I appreciate some people's advice to call them back. But it is just not worth it. DH and I talked about it and even if they offered us a free night stay (which this DOES NOT WARRANT, so do not slam me!) we would not go back. I started this thread because I knew a few people were interested in the outcome, and I for one would appreciate this information on a resort before I spend money there.

So.......even though I have no authority to do so....I think I am requesting the end of this thread. I am tired of getting slammed for sharing our experience.
