They Really Should...

I had to do that to when I had Dish. That is the one plus to using streaming to watch shows. They never cut off the ending or beginning due to other programs running long.
You're right it doesn't..but I do have to sit through commercials (with ad-supported plans) which is why I record everything so I don't have to lol. On Demand is like that too which I have had to use once in a while when a streaming service we have doesn't have something. But your point is well taken :)

My DVR should be smart enough to know when a program gets messed up because of a football game. For example Equalizer has gotten messed up due to Sunday Night Football and because of enough times I just set the recording for the series to be 1 hour after scheduled end time. But since I've done that has it gotten messed up? No, no it hasn't.

Maybe other DVR devices are smarter IDK but it's frustrating to try and guess just which program which night could possibly this time get messed up and then it wastes space making the whole series record extra long length and I have to hope that I gave it enough time.

I don't expect it to figure out when some special thing pops on like weather or unplanned presidential stuff though.
I don't know if my DVR adjusts, but with YouTube TV the live schedule does update. It will show me the ball game is still on instead of the news, and if it keeps going, it will keep adjusting it.

Exactly. The only time they don't come in dozens is when you buy the jumbo wieners and then they are in a pack of 6, so it's easy enough to do the math on matching them to 12 buns. ;)

What they really should do is generate some sort of bat-signal (or something) that will alert me when a product I've been using for years is on the verge of being discontinued, so I can hoard as much/many as I can find.

YES!! They have to know months in advance that they’re going to discontinue something. You’d think they’d announce it so people will stick up and spend more on the product that they usually would.

make all food products that are required to have a printed best by and/or use by date to be printed on the product in a designated location with a minimum legible font size cuz when they print it on some obscure portion of a clear glass container in small font i can't find it let alone read it :guilty:

Put the correct number of buns and hot dogs in packaging. 10 hot dogs and 8 buns to a pack is obnoxious. Apparently the buns are baked in clusters of 4 in pans that hold 8 rolls. Even though they now make pans that hold 10, we still don't have enough buns, people. Just charge more and make it even. Or stop selling the hot dogs by the pound and give us 8. Either way, make it work, hot dog/bun industry. Rant over.

I don't even like hot dogs but my kids eat them.
I'd like the opposite sort of. I'd like to see a smaller quantity of everything like that. Give me a package with 2 buns so that on the rare occasion I want a hot dog, I can have 2 hot dogs.

I can freeze the extra hot dogs. The basic burger and dog buns however come out of the freezer terrible. Plus the buns are too bulky and take up too much room in my tiny freezer for something I eat so seldom.

I wish there were options of a lot of things for single people so I didn't have to throw so much away.

Maybe this is another thing that’s not done in the States, but here all the major grocery stores with in-house bakery departments have bulk-bins where you can self-select what you want and how many. Need two hotdog buns? No problem - grab two chocolate croissants and a single everything bagel while you’re at it. And one store I go to even sells bread and garlic bread by the 1/2 loaf. :thumbsup2

Hmm we freeze leftover buns on the times we find we know we aren't going to eat the leftovers quick enough and haven't noticed a considerable difference in taste. We do that with hamburger buns as well especially because we do a cajun burger recipe where we freeze the patties.

As far as space they take up way less space than processed freezer meals that come in a box. Hot dog and hamburger buns take up almost the least amount of space of things we freeze. We also freeze bread to use for sandwiches and then pop it in the fridge when we're ready for it.

They really should not allow negative election ads on TV. Candidates should state their goals and position on issues without trashing their opponent.

(Hope this is not considered too political as it applies to all parties.)
I'd rather have that where I can fast forward if it's a recorded show or temporarily change the channel than get the slew of text messages. I'll add they really should make political text messaging robo-calling subject to regulatory fines.

I would love to see smaller packs too! I agree that freezing messes with the texture - I do have slightly better luck, though, if I put a napkin or folded paper towel in with them.

We do have that here, in the US, but it’s only the rolls, bread, bagels, muffins, etc. that are fresh-baked daily in the store’s own bakery. I’ve never seen hot dog or hamburger rolls.

Okay - here's what they really need to do. Offer a VARIETY PACK of oreos, darn it!! I always see so many awesome flavors I want to try, but can't buy a full size $4+ pack, just to sample it - I don't want that many of 1 flavor - especially if I don't like it.

This is such a no-brainer, but they won't do it. Please cookie people - give us a variety pack with red velvet, pumpkin, christmas, birthday cake, classic creme, chocolate, chocolate mint, fudge, espresso/coffee, etc. etc.

Who's with me on this? Wouldn't it be awesome?

Good idea but I'm guessing the more stronger flavors would over power the others. Unless you're someone who likes mint-coffee-red velvet lol.

Easy solution wrap each flavor separately before placing into the package. This would also be great to keep them fresher longer. Being a single person I can not (okay I could but I don’t) eat an entire package of Oreos before they go stale. Same for many packaged foods. Chips. Crackers. Etc.

We do have that in the U.S., but they don't have the traditional hot dog buns in there. It would be more long a "long roll" that's in those bins and not a soft, fluffy hot dog bun.

I remember back when it all started going the negative route. One political ad was nothing but negatively cutting on the other for doing nothing but negatively cutting the opponents. That was the end of the ad and I was like, you just did the same!!!

They should ban radio advertisements and traffic report background music that feature car horns.

I agree, sometimes when I'm in the car and a siren or horn goes off I actual jump then realize it's just on the radio. Very annoying.
They really should offer half size orders of all entrees at all restaurants. There is always SO much food in restaurant meals. If we're just at home and eating out, fine, we can take leftovers home, but when we're on the road traveling, we can't always save it. So of course then we have to overeat.

Some places offer a senior's menu with smaller portions. It's a nice option.
Brings back annual passes and dining plans

And Tables in Wonderland pass.

I would love to see the variety packs of chips that offer more sour cream and onion chips. They always load up on things we don't like as much. I like to buy the variety packs because it's a pre-measured portion (portion control) LOL.

I really wish that the Disboards would have an area for political conversations. It seems like every time an interesting thread starts, and it may be a little political it disappears. Very annoying. If it was in its own area those who object could just avoid the whole thing altogether. There are some very smart people who post here and it's good to get other points of view on important subjects. Just my 2 cents.
