They Call Me MISTER PIG- He Said, She Said (9/1 Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic? Page 47)

Well, your key didn't work, but on a brighter or nicer smellling note, no more stinky room!!!!!!!

Hello.........I just wanted to let you know that your TR has inspired my husband and I to do one in a similar format. :goodvibes (He said/she said) Thanks so much. We are having a lot of fun writting it!:thumbsup2 How ever, after writting our first installment today I went back to look at your TR because I saw there were some new comments. I noticed I used the exact same colors for wording!!! Can you believe that. It must have been stuck in my mind from reading yours I guess! So, just wanted to let you know that I'm not trying to totally rip off your idea! Just think of it as a great compliment I guess! :thanks: I will change the colors on our next installment! Have fun writting your TR!

Oh thats fine! No worries! Its fun to write together. He and Me are always cracking each other up so its nice to be able to share our daily banter with others.

Yup! I so scrubbed that room and I was so not happy with it. I am not that hard to please (we will not be asking He to give his opinion on that matter) but that room made me feel so sick. It made us all that much happier with Pop though so that is good I guess. :goodvibes

I'm glad you finally got out of that nasty room! We also had A LOT of trouble with our KTTW's the first year we went together. It was really frustating to keep having to take time out of our vacation to get someone to fix the mistakes. I think we had 3 KTTW's each by the end of the trip! I can't wait to read the next installment. :goodvibes

Bummer about the cards not working. My daughter's card held us up also but luckily they were able to let us through the turnstiles and we could have it fixed back at the hotel.
Looking forward to reading about more good things happening to you
Fast passes....score!!:woohoo:

Oh I feel your pain! At the age of four we decided that we were going to break this picky eating streak. Twice we decided that she would eat what we made or not eat at all and twice that child ended up in the hospital from dehydration after refusing the food and even water for two days :scared1: After the second time I just gave up. I mean I had Child Services visiting me at the hospital because they thought we weren't feeding her

Nowadays we always make only one meal, but at said meal there are at least two veggies. And Cat LOVES Veggies :confused3 Strange I know but true. So we normally don't force the issue but man I have to give it up to that child's willpower.

-Becca-

Lol!!! I was that picky eater when I was little ( it was only hot dogs-no bun- and Count Chocula-and ok I still like Count Chocula) so I was prepared with my little bundle of joy. Liked something one day, the next it was yucky!

I started hiding veggies in her food. Little baby-food jars of squash went into her spaghetti-o's, green beans in her tuna, you name it, I hid it. Feels pretty good to outsmart a 2 year old!

I think we just might beat you on the KTTW that we had to go through but you will have to wait and read about it. Honestly I wasn't expecting it because I hadn't heard anyone mention it on the board so I was in shock.

The fast passes rocked. I think if it was just one they might have over ridden it but since it was all of them no dice. Oh well.

LOL :lmao: I can't outsmart my son and he is 14 months. I am not sure if that means he is mart or I am dumb. It is probably the later.

Actually, yours is the first trip report that I've ever read. I am new to the Disboards. My DW, Lynsue, has been here a number of years and has submitted may trip reports of our vacations. Our next trip is in October and I am going to join her in a "he/she" report. Your's is great, I hope ours can be as entertaining. You both have a wonderful sense of humor, and I am enjoying reading this report.

Soarin Through Epcot

So where we last left off we had just ridden our first ride of the trip- Nemo. Cat was mildly freaked, mostly by the jellyfish, and I was rather concerned about how she was going to handle all the other rides. Well we were about to find out. We headed to Soarin’ with the family fastpass firmly in hand, which was good because the line was already 70mins. We hopped right on after a quick thumbs up to Kronk. We were seated in the center section, top row which is my favorite spot. I held onto Cat’s hand when we lifted and suddenly it started. Within minutes she was awash with what she called “Mickey Magic” which was the only way to explain how we were so magical transported from the ocean to the mountains. This ride is definitely one of the best that Disney has to offer, no doubt about it.

He Said – For such a no-impact ride, this really is a must see. You can smell the oranges, feel the breeze… I’m just glad we didn’t fly over a cow pasture. Or a landfill.

After leaving we noticed the Fast pass distribution time was 12:00-1:00 perfect for after our lunch so I quickly fed our tickets into the machine. Oh and this is as good of a time as any to ask why do so many families line everyone up to get a fast pass instead of just sending one member of their party with all the tickets? It makes for massive congestion. Also why do people constantly ignore the open fast pass kiosks on the side instead choosing to stand in line for one in the middle and then glare at me when I choose to use them? Sorry but the fact that you are dumb doesn’t mean I should get the evil eye just because I’m not.

He Said – Pro Positive Disney Rule Number One! Don’t use a motor scooter to drive up to the fastpass machine. It’s bad enough to not have to walk around.

We decided now would be a great time to hit Spaceship Earth, and it was. The line was only 20 minutes and was moving quickly. Well until it didn’t. Yup, broken.

So over to Test Track we went (with our other family fastpass of destiny). I was nervous about putting The Cat on it but I wanted to ride it so I decided she could handle it. Yeah I am that sorta parent. I warned her about the looking like we would crash part so I can’t be all bad right? She didn’t scream but she wasn’t exactly loving it. Here is the proof:

day1h.jpg

Yeah I look like I am not having fun either, and that’s not true. I am having a blast but my head is all worried about the six year old sitting beside me. We promptly told her how proud we were and all that jazz and she spent the rest of the trip saying it was her favorite ride… Yeah we will see about that.

He Said – Pro Positive Disney Rule Number Two! If your kid isn’t making a complete scene or isn’t hysterical (yet), put them on the ride. If they cry, you can make fun of them when they are 13 years old and are having friends over. If they didn’t cry, heck yeah!

After that we only had a limited amount of time before our lunch ADR at Garden Grill. We tried to hit Spaceship Earth but alas, still broken. So we settled on visiting Figment. I used to really enjoy this ride a million years ago but honestly? I thought it was so annoying. Must be the revamp, or the skunk smell, or the fact that it isn’t even a little bit funny. (not even to my six year old)

He Said – Skip this ride and go watch the seagulls over at Nemo’s. Figment will drive anyone over age 4 insane. I feel bad for the fellow from Monty Python who got stuck with this gig.

Well it was getting hot and we were starting to slow down. It was only 11:30 but we walked over to Garden Grill to go ahead and check in. I requested Lower Level and we were given a pager. Two minutes later it went off prompting me to wonder why they had given it to us in the first place. Shrug.

Well it was our first character interaction and it went so well. Chip and Dale are so funny. She really enjoyed talking to them and they both came around more than once, which is great since it meant time for her to just talk to them and not have to sign stuff or pose for pictures. Well here are those annoying pictures we made her pose for:

Food Umm… I will let He do the honors on the review. I can’t remember.

He Said – Pro Positive Disney Rule Number Three! If possible, make reservations for Buffet restaurants. Family style is awkward, and if you get crummy food… you can only get more crummy food. The food here wasn’t anything to write home about. For some reason I’m here at home writing about it. It was good ole southern cookin – Cornbread, biscuits, fried catfish, chicken, slim green beans, and some meat product whose name eludes me. I ended up liking the chicken nuggets that The Cat didn’t eat more than the other entrees. This meal marks Orange Soda 1/75 – 4/75. (That’s 4 refills. And, uh… gas.)

After our lunch we headed over to Soarin again! Yay fastpass! Well this is the most disturbing part of the day, while standing in line the man in front of us went to hit his son (really hit him- like hard and on purpose) and accidentally managed to elbow his daughter in the face. Both kids were crying (I am guess ages 9 for DD and 12 for DS) and the mom is mad and the guy looks ready to beat the living crap out of his kid and the CM’s don’t do a thing. Cat was right next to them so I move her behind me because honestly I am scared of it escalating. The way the guy came off, from his blaming the kids and apologizing to his wife in a certain way, made me feel that this sorta thing happens far too often at their home. Still I was relived when they decided to leave the line.

He Said – I’m relatively certain these people were from out of country. I didn’t see the whole thing, but man that guy was creepy!

After another fab trip on Kronk airlines. We were ready to leave but not without checking out if Spaceship Earth was fixed yet and Success! After a 20 minute wait we were in the giant golf ball. Cat really enjoyed it and the end is pretty cool. I don’t want to spoil anyone.

He Said – Pro Positive Disney Rule Number Four! The giant golf ball is a shelter for the hot and weary. The line is fast moving and mostly in the shade. Honestly I was expecting more out of this attraction.

Finally by 1:30 we were on the bus ready to hit our room and just relax. That should be easy, right?

On the next Mister Pig: The Key to Having a Great Vacation

Another great installment. Sorry to hear that you didn't like the food at the GGR. My DW and I ate there the first time in '07 during our May 30th anniversary trip. After many TS meals it was nice to have some "home cooking" especially the catfish and those delicious potatoes (DW is a potato connoisseur) We enjoyed it so much that we returned there for lunch during our Sept 07 trip. We are not much for the character meals, but it's fun to watch them interact with the young children.

Can't wait for your next post.:)

Great update.

I love soarin too. It is one of my favorites.
I also love spaceship earth.
We rode spaceship earth twice on our trip and it broke with us in it both times.
I get soooooooooo mad when people are mean to their kids in front of me. It breaks my heart. When we were at AK a little girl around twenty months old. She didn't look like she was quite two and she couldn't talk yet. Well, she had her little arm in between the bars in front of a drain by the dinosaur ride. Her mom noticed and yanked her away. The little girl had her fat little arm pretty far between the bars and instead of pulling her straight back her mom yanked her sideways. I think she almost broke her arm. The little girl started crying the loud, very hurt cry. The mom fussed at her and walked away. I was fumeing and I followed her and stopped her. I told her that she need to get some ice for her daughters arm because she had really hurt her. I suggested that she take her to first aid. She looked at me with a shocked look. she went off to the side and sat with the baby and that baby cried for about twenty minutes.

Personally I liked it too, but He wasn't super impressed. He loved the setting though and the character interaction. Honestly I think if he had ranked them as we went this would have been a favorite but there was so much good food on this trip. The Cat was in heaven because it had all the green beans she could eat. Strange kid, I know.

That is so terrible. Good for you for saying something though:thumbsup2 I kept wanting to interven but to be honest that guy really scared me. He had this waiting for a fight attitude that I think other picked up on too. I was a little shocked that the CM's did nothing. His daughter was really hurt, she was sobbing and holding her face in her hands. And his poor son, it looked like he knew how badly he was going to get it later. I hate when parents do that, I all know we aren't perfect parents but to purposely hurt a child? :sad2:

-Becca-

:rotfl: We ate at the garden grill during our stay too and lets say we werent impressed at all! Like he said I like dthe chicken nuggets my neice didnt eat better! LOL!

So glad I found your TR. It is AWESOME! Can't wait to see what happen next.

Great installment! :thumbsup2 to your DD for getting on TT; my DD is 12 and she wants nothing to do with that ride!:scared: (She'll ride ToT over and over again though - go figure!)

We've given GG a few tries ourselves and have now given up on the place. Can't justify having an "o.k" meal there when there are so many restaurants at WS that we really love.

Looking forward to reading more!

I want to read more! (And I am sooo jealous of those instant fast passes! I wish we could get those. It would make the wait with young children a LOT easier!)
