They are giving Nancy the flag...

So sad, and at this moment all you can hear is the shutter of cameras! So sad!

what a love story, but all true love storys end in death :(

We opened the window upstairs and listened to the 21 gun salute and then watched the fly over by the jets.

We heard the shot on TV then it echoed throught the canyon and we heard it a few seconds later.

Its very very close to us.

I had chills and tears at the same time. I thought the same thing about hearing the sounds of the cameras. :( :(

Very hard to watch...I cried uncontrollably. My 22 yo son asked me why? My answer was that not many people have that true love...I personally believe this. They had something that not many have, but most of us want. To see her be so stoic all week, breaking down just at the end, to know the whole world is watching you. May God bless her...she has my admiration for life.

Tough to witness...sad, poignant, personal, public, real true love of 2 people, a family, a nation.

That Nancy is such a Sweet Lady!!!nana2tots

I think you hit it on the head. It is wonderful he was such a great leader and president, regardless of your political siding...but what is most amazing is that they were really in love for 52 years. Anyone who has been in love knows the work it takes to maintain that and Mrs. Reagan's love for him has just left me awestruck. I can only hope that DH and I are that in love in our 80's!

Kinda weepy just writing about it.

That final moment. Her holding on to the casket knowing this was the last she'd be close to him. *choke*

Very very hard to watch.......so private, so poignant, so heart wrenching.

Very poignant.

Seeing her, clutching that flag to her chest, finally crying uncontrollably with her head against the casket was so painful . . .

They truly loved each other, didn't they?:( :(

I couldn't stop crying either. My 11 year old daughter and her friend were just watching me, but I couldn't explain anything to anyone. It was real tough to watch. She has my respect for life too, course, that was never in question anyway, but it's so much deeper now.

They should have turned the cameras off and given them a private minute at the end. Or just showed it from a distance. I noticed the cameras clicking too, they had to be aware of it.

It felt almost intrusive watching this. Very emotional

I missed it. I read this on Time's site that showed the love they shared, and the admiration she had for him when she writes: "On my birthday, he always sent my mother flowers to thank her for having me", and "After he was shot and we almost lost him, he lay on his hospital bed staring at the ceiling and praying. He told me that he realized he couldn't pray just for himself, that it wouldn't be right, and that he also had to pray for John Hinckley."
