Sea- party is Oct 4th.
Cupcakes are cool.... I think I'll probbaly do the tear away cake, as we are at a show the night before and out most of the day. It will just be easier to have the bakery do it, than making a mess before everyone comes over for lunch on sunday.

We flew into Honolulu and then went to Maui. And then to The Big Island. And then back to Honolulu. No problem at all. :thumbsup2

How did you get to Maui from Hololulu? Did you have to get on another plane? Or was there a ferry or something? I'm so lost... :confused3

We always took planes. The flights were short, but the planes we took were pretty big. Like 2 seats on each side of the aisle or something maybe? This is going back...let's see...we'll be married 13 years on the 21st of this month, so yep, our trip was 13 years ago! :scared1:

There are direct flights from LA to Maui. But in your case, you have to fly to Honolulu and then transfer to another inter-island airline to get to Maui. It is only a 20-30 minute flight. There are no ferrys between the islands.

Glad to hear all the Mayer kiddles survived their first days of school, made it home safely on the right buses, and overall sound like they like their teachers, classes, and are making friends :thumbsup2

Shelly -- love the Hershey TR! Except it's making me want to go to the vending machine for Reese's... :lovestruc

NC -- girl, I'd be sweating AND swearing if I saw a Water Mocassin!!! I lived in Montana for a few years, and used to see rattlesnakes there and when we visited relatives in Wyoming. I definitely gave them plenty of room -- "You want the path, Mr. Snake? Okay...no problem...I'll just walk over =========> here, then..."

RF, will be fun to hear your Hawaii plans as you make them :)

Sea, thanks for sharing the pic of your friend, Debbie. God knows who she is, of course, but it's nice to see the face we are praying for. Do they know for sure it's cancer? My sister Pat had a brain tumor about 10 years ago that paralyzed half her body, and she had to have emergency surgery, but it turned out to be benign. But no matter what, Debbie is in our prayers.

And what a "Maui-Wowee" story! :rotfl2: Reminds me of those "stupid criminal" stories you sometimes get in emails...

Yeah, I'm ready for my trip, but poor Mike is still sick. :guilty: The strep culture came back negative, but the dr. told him to take the antibiotics anyway, just in case. My friend here at work said her son and his GF both thought they had strep but it was a virus that just lasted about 3 days, so I have my fingers crossed that Mike will be feeling better soon, that it's just something going around. About 2 years ago he had mono, and bounced back and was at work in less than one week! So he's pretty resilient...

Work is soooooo stressful right now, I am sooooooooo looking forward to this trip...

KB - I think maybe I did SWEAT when I saw that snake.

I couldn't even speak, so swearing was out of the question.

I was speechless which doesn't happen often for me!

I hope Mike is feeling better soon!

Sea- I am praying for your friend!

Shelly - Your TR was wonderful. It looks like your boys had an awesome time. Your DS10 cracks me up with some of poses and expressions.

Good Morning friends

Just a quick stop in to say hello.
I'm off to my official meet with Emmy's teacher this morning, she is soooo excited! Then its to the garage to have the "beast" looked at. Hopefully all will be well for a little while, and I won't have to replace the Windstar quite yet. I have a trip or two planned, and I don't want that budget depleted for vehicle payments. :(

Catch up with you all later.
Have a wonderful day!

I hope the "beast" is ok.

I just couldn't help but think you are our very own Beauty and the Beast!

P.S. I had a Windstar, actually I had two, and loved them both! The first was hunter green and the second white.

Morning MAYers!

Just back from the school. Meetings starting already. Got to start coordinating volunteers for picture day.

Good luck with your vehicle Lake!

I hope your son feels better soon KB.

Hello to all others in MAYerland today! :goodvibes

Good Morning!

KB-- well, I hope your baby feels better in time for your trip! I know you are looking so forward to the Disney fix!:goodvibes

Lake- good luck with the teacher and the garage. Hope they can fix the Beast.:lmao:

Well, Mark and I have been talking since yesterday at lunch and we've decided that we are NOT going to go to WDW in Nov. I just can't justify the cost vs the time in WDW. ANd the game is only FL International, so it's not a "must see" game. I feel good about the decision. I think we've been on enough vacations this year.:rotfl2: It will be nice to have the week off and decorate that Friday for Christmas.

Thanks for everyone getting excited with me.:cloud9:

:grouphug:

Jo

Well truthfully JO I think you made the right decision. As much as I wanted you to be able to go in November (because I know you like going in Nov, plus the kids could have went with you), you are right it would have been too much money and too little Disney time.

There's always November 2010!! Trix and I may be going then!! :cool1:

Are you and Mark still going in MAY?

I really have a good feeling about November 2010! :woohoo:

Unless you hate November this year, then we'd have to reconsider the dates, of course. :rolleyes1

So your Disney vacation is hinging on me???!!! :scared1: Oh the pressure!! :faint:

J/K! :rotfl: I think you and I had the same feelings on the crowd levels in January, so it should be pretty easy to tell you if it was more or less crowded and so on! :thumbsup2

So let's do it MAYers - MAYER REUNION - NOVEMBER 2010 (that is, as long as I like it in November of course )

Quiet day here in MAYerland. . . Guess I'll finish up my Hershey TR.

As you may have noticed everything is very expensive in Hershey - especially the hotels. We usually stay at the Hershey Lodge. Very nice, very beautiful. But we didn't want to shell out the big bucks since we have the Disney trip coming up. So we opted for a Holiday Inn in Harrisburg. DH had some points on his priority club there from work travel, not enough to get a room for the night yet (wow you need to have about a million stays to get one free night :sad2:), but we thought we would just stay there and have more points added to the account. It looked really nice online. Don't they all? :rotfl: Well, it ended up being okay. The room was big and we had a balcony with a view of the very nice pool and there was a huge playground. But the room was pretty worn, the bathroom was gross, and the balcony was covered in spiders. The bed was very comfortable though. I would have liked to have brought that thing home with me! It was amazing that I got any sleep at all. Now I know why we stay at the moderates at Disney. Outside entrances! It just seems to me that hotels with inside entrances (like we normally stay at everywhere except Disney) are so loud! :sad2: Kids running up and down the halls at midnight and the noise just echoing off the walls. Doors slamming. Wow! :headache:

So anyway, here are some of the more flattering pictures of the hotel. Not the ones I sent to management!

Of course it was hot and sunny most of the day, but when we finally got out to the pool it cooled off and started to rain. So we headed to the indoor pool.

And that's about it. We got up Sunday and drove home. The end!

Good morning Mayers!

Lake - I hope your van isn't going to cost too much to repair.

Jo - I think you made a good decision - you needed more time to enjoy the parks with all the other stuff you had planned it wouldn't have been that fun.

Shelly - Fun pix of the HI...did your boys finish that huge Kiss?

Trix-KB-NC and Lurkers - Howdy!

Please keep our friend Debbie in prayer - she is in surgery right now - they expect it to take about eight hours...she also went blind in her left eye...:sad1:...thanks for thinking about her.

Sea

Sea- Praying for debbie.
Are they able to remove the tumor? Sounds like it's on her Occipital Lobe. Is she having gamma knife surgery? I am, unfortunately, a bit knowledgeable. She may have to wear a halo.
But know this-- Miracles do still happen.

How are her kids doing?

Poor babies.

Jo
