NC...EEK!
Okay, here's my snake story...my mother was a toddler, in the house, pushing on the screen door to come outside and her mother was hanging clothes on the line in the front yard (don't know who was supposed to be watching my mom inside, I think she had been napping on a blanket on the floor). Anyway, my grandma looked over at the front porch and there was a rattlesnake coiled up in front of the door...and her baby was pushing the screen door open. So she dropped her laundry and FLEW across the yard, jumped over the snake, held the screen door shut, and yelled for her brother to come kill the snake with a shovel

So, NC, you have carried on the brave tradition of snake-shovel-killing, good for you!
And glad you got good use out of my "momism"

Have you noticed that husbands can't find stuff either? They can look in the fridge, right AT the butter, and ask, "Hon, is there any butter in the house?" My theory is that in ancient days, women were the gatherers, and men were the hunters, so genetically...men can't see anything unless it is moving... so next time he can't find the butter, I'm going to take it out, slide it across the floor, and see if he can track it!
Shelly, hope your little guy feels better soon! There are lots of viruses going around, unfortunately...
Jo, yeah, Mike is feeling better...and ready to go to
Disneyland -- 6 MORE DAYS, WHOO HOO!!! And, yeah, I'd love to see more of your TR (but I think you would have had a lot more fun with Sea and me as your tour guides!)
On a worrisome note...my cat is suddenly, horribly sick

Tim spent $300 at the vet yesterday for them to x-ray her and basically say, "huh, we don't know what's wrong with her"

I think she might have a problem with her teeth or gums...she has been yarking up half chewed food, and now won't eat anything at all. She's very weak and can't even hop up on the bed or the sofa, where she usually sleeps. They said they couldn't examine her teeth because she wouldn't co-operate

sheesh, they are vets! They went into the field knowing their patients can't be reasoned with, may be distressed or in pain, may not like strangers, and are armed with teeth and claws. And she's a cat (a very cranky cat, I know, and not nice or trusting strangers even when she is not sick), but she's not a saber tooth tiger!

Anyway, they are doing a re-check tonight for no charge, but if they have to sedate her to do the dental exam...yikes, I'm not sure how much we can afford. But she's at the point they either have to fix her problem, or we'll have to put the poor thing down because she is so sick and miserable.
