These Are The MAYS Of Our Lives! V

What is the size of a typical cab? Is it just a 4 door car? I doubt all of our luggage would fit in the trunk of a car. But like you said we could hold some for all the longer it is going to take to get there. I am just wondering if it is a car would they take all 4 of us? Do they let someone sit up front? Or maybe we would need a van taxi? Is there such a thing? :rotfl:

There are taxi vans that are around WDW. We took one from BC to POP one night after an Illuminations cruise. If you need a large taxi like a van, the valet or maybe luggage services could call one for you.

You know when the newcrews are in hurry, we like a taxi! Pronto!!!

This past year, we didn't like the idea of having to load onto Magical Express at the required time, so we took a taxi from Magic Kingdom to POP! The kids and I sat in the taxi while DH picked up our carry-on items from luggage services. He then jumped back in the cab and we hauled booty to the airport!!!

This was not cheap, but DH didn't mind springing for it as we figured it gave us an extra 2 hours in Magic Kingdom which is priceless! He's sweet like that!

When we take a cab, DH sits up front, and the kids and I sit in the back 3 across.

Most cabs from one location to another at WDW usually run around $15 plus tip. You might run a little more if you run into traffic or something. We have taken them a park at closing when the line for our resort was too long and never had traffic issues.

There are just moments that my husband says, "I am NOT riding the "FREE" bus. We're taking a cab." (He has this issue about "FREE" WDW transportation or "FREE" Magical Express, because nothing in life is free, your just paying for it one way or the other!)

I think a lot of cabs are like a Ford Crown Victoria which is a big car.

Here's an idea

Your DH could take the luggage, check-in, and un-pack while you and the kids go to a park!

Do you think that could happen?

Oh Shelly, some cabs take cash only. One night at WDW, we were in one, DH had left his wallet in the safe, I don't like to carry cash. So DH asked the kids if they had any cash on them. DD piped up that she had a $50 bill in her fanny pack! :scared1: So, she paid for our cab that night!

morning!!!!!

So I need some help.
For the last month I have been looking for some new bedding for our room.
I even looked last weekend with no luck. Unfortunately we do not have many choices here in town to go look at. At this point I am ready to order online and have it shipped.

Can any of you recommend some good stores you shop at for bedding and linens.

JCPenney
Kohl's
Bed Bath and Beyond are the 3 I'mlooking into today... can you suggest others.

Thanks my fellow shoppers.

Morning!

Hi NC! How are you doing??

Shelly- we've only taken a taxi once on property- it was a regular 4 door car, from DTD to POFQ when the line for the boat was extra long one night.
It was $20 with tip included.

If it were me, I'd put DH in the taxi with the luggage and send him to check in, then hop a bus to the closest park-- MK from POR? Then transer to bus to OKW. By the time you get there with the boys, he should be checked in and in the room- he can just call you with the bldg and room #'s.
The taxi's might be too small for all of you plus luggage but NC is right- bell services can get you a larger one if you want to stay together instead of splitting up.

Lake--- how about Macy's? Do you have a Tuesday Morning there? That's where I get all of my Linens-- 600 count sheets for around $75 for a king size. :cloud9: I got my comforter there as well- and my MIL got hers there (by Waterford Linens- it's gorgeous.) for really cheap, comparatively. I'm ready for a new one myself. Mine's 4 years old- time for a change!:)
Ooh-- TJ MAxx has some that are pretty as well, usually. And Marshall's too. Check both of them.

Mark and I are going to see The Perfect Getaway tonight. I'm already scared.:scared1:

Good morning MAYers!

Thanks for all the great taxi info!

You guys are funny though. I don't really see DH taking the taxi and checking in and unpacking by himself. He leaves all that fun stuff up to me. Besides, I could do it in about 1/2 the time it would take him and I probably wouldn't like where he put everything anyways!! :rotfl:

Okay, I'm off to check SW rates and see if the AK hours are up. . . :surfweb:

I may need to cross the border again next week... hmmm.

Really not having much luck.

No Tuesday Morning here, or Marshalls, or TJ Maxx... but thanks for the store names to checkout.

Jason goes to Chicago for a few days Tuesday..perhaps I could meet him in Detroit when he gets home and that way I don't need to worry about the duty so much if I find something.

Morning Shelly!

Hey- if it were me and I was doing a split stay- I wouldn't even unpack. Everyone live out of their suitcase!:rotfl:

Which is what we normally do anyway-- unless we are there for 10 days. Mark NEVER unpacks his stuff. He lives out of the suitcase always. Heck- once we get home, he doesn't unpack for at least two weeks. ANd by then, it's time for him to pack up to go on a trip somewhere for his job.:rotfl2:

I can't believe that SW hasn't lowered their prices yet. Wait and see games stink.

Jo

Hi Lake! No luck, huh?

Did you try Macy's?

Jo

JO - how do you make your 2 tickers next to each other? I want 2 tickers!! :cool1: How did you make them smaller? I need a new ticker since this one never came out right with the date, so I might as well do it up right if I am going to change it! :rotfl:

Lake - we got our new bedding at JC Penney's. We really like it. It was a great price too.

Hey did your DH tell you that him and my DH do the same exact job? They discovered that near the end of our visit. Which is probably a good thing, otherwise my DH would have talked about work all night!

Jo

I'm looking at Macy's now.
And am liking some that I have seen.

Problem is... I have two sets I have fallen in love with..but both have been discontinued and I can't get all the pieces I want in the right sizes. Nothing else is standing out as much as those other two I guess.

Lake- check Dillard's as well.

Shelly- I see that you got your tickers straight.:thumbsup2 They look good.

Jo

Yep, got the 2 tickers in there. Can you see them alright? I can't figure out how to make them smaller like yours. . .

When you're building your ticker, at least on Tickerfactory, you have the option of small instead of large. That's how I did mine. I can see both of yours fine.

Jo

I didn't see an option to make them smaller. It's probably there though. :rotfl:

But if you can see them then I guess I'll just leave them alone! :thumbsup2
