These Are The MAYS Of Our Lives! V

 I get annoyed at people who have birthday parties for their kids EVERY year!

Once my kids turned about 3-4 I decided a party every other year was sufficient. I mean it's not like we skip their birthday on the off year. :rotfl: We still take them to dinner wherever they want, I make them a cake, and we usually let them take one friend to CEC. I just feel like a party every year is a bit much. I feel like it's like asking for gifts or something. :confused3

EVERY year at my nephew's birthday party (who was born 6 weeks after DS7) my SIL says to me - you are so smart for only doing this every other year, it's such an expense, and so much work. And EVERY year I think to myself she's finally seeing the light! :woohoo: Until the next year when I am standing at my nephew's birthday party listening to her tell me the same thing again! :sad2:

So anyway, yes I would be totally annoyed that they invited themselves to have a party at your house!

And they're 35 years old

NC - Ignore my whining! I hope that you feel better soon! Bed rest, trashy TV and junk food all help me fight off illness!

Hummmmmmm..... I'd probably scrap Boatwright's as well. Which ones are you keeping?
Will you get Hoppers? On the 7th are you seeing F! ?? Is that why you're going at night? Do they have a F! later? Are they showing it 2x in one night? When do you leave to go home?
So many questions, I know.
As far as MVMCP---- I wonder if they cap the tix to that like they do with the MNSSHP? The limit to that is speculated somewhere btwn 19-24,000 tix. Which is empty to me, after being in Christmas crowds with 96,000 of my bestest friends.:headache: Can you say sardines????????????? Can you say miserable??? Can you say 2 1/2 hour wait for Pooh ride........... which we waited in like a bunch of dumb butts???:lmao: For Pooh!!!!!!!!!!!
If it were me and I did the party, I'd plan on doing nothing that day-- pool, maybe, DTD for lunch- and into the party as early as possible. But then I'd only go to MK for one other half day.

Jo

Let's see, we are keeping. . .
Sci-Fi
WCC
BRG
Kona
LeCellier
And ??

And then we will pay for CP breakfast OOP on the last full day (when we are without the DDP).

I am thinking about Beaches & Cream for our other ADR. . . But they don't take ADR's (like BRG) and we will have already been at the Boardwalk - for BRG. But we really like the Boardwalk, so no big deal there. . .

No, we are not doing Fantasmic. We just saw it in January and we have no intention of going anywhere close to DHS on Fantasmic days! They are only showing it twice in the 9 days we will be there - Sunday and Thursday.

I am assuming that AK will be 9-5. No, we won't do EMH there (or anywhere else). That's kind of what I need the hours for, so I can make sure that the AK day I have planned is not an EMH day. I don't think it will be, we are planning on AK for a Sunday and I don't think they typically have EMH on Sunday there. I'm thinking Sunday will be a good day for AK, because everyone will be at DHS for Fantasmic and MK for Spectro!

Hope I answered all your questions!

I am really sad that we might not go in May next year - but I am really looking forward to seeing the Osbourne lights at DHS if we are able to go next November. I have seen videos of them, but I can't wait to see the real thing!

I really want to do MVMCP, but I think that's because I loved the MNSSHP so much!

I think the MVMCP would be an awesome experience. I am just trying not to cram too much into this trip. KWIM? We have done nothing but work on this house all summer. No fun, no relaxing. So while I want this trip to be fun (and of course it will be!), I want it to be relaxing too. Especially for DH. On top of all the work at home he has had a lot of crap to deal with at his job. So I am really looking forward to taking Disney at a slower pace. Oh and enjoying a relaxing evening on my balcony at OWK. :cloud9:

Aww, RF- I love you too, honey!:goodvibes I'm sorry you've been trapped with a Birthday party from heck. Seriously- get a sam's or costco cake-- they have some in the freezer section. Wouldn't get anything else for the two of them and I would make sure to announce it as I brought the cake into the room-- "Okay, girls, your presents from me are the cake and the usage of my new house for your party. Happy Birthday!" Giggle, giggle.
Ooh- Cranberry. Where I used live!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibe
Good memories.

Shelly- F! only twice. "Can you say sardines? Can you say miserable?":lmao: If they keep that up- IDk if I will ever see it again.
Sunday at AK is a great choice, given Spectro and F! are both showing.

I like your ADR's. I think your oldest DS will love WCC-- he'll get right in on the action. Make sure they seat you in the main dining area and not off to the back of the restaurant, b/c you don't get the action back there.
Beaches and Cream-- is that where they have that big sundae? I've never eaten there.
ISn't it just like burgers and such?

Jo

RF - is it really 45 minutes to Cranberry from your house? We can be from Cranberry to downtown in about 15 minutes. . . Heck we can be from our house to downtown in 50 minutes!

It's awful when the hubby has work issues.:headache:

That's standard issue in this house. Very frustrating.

I know what you mean about wanting to relax. It's hard to do at WDW. I think our most relaxing day last year was the day we went to MNSSHP- and we sat in the hammocks at CBR on the beach that morning. It was so fun- just doing nothing there, and the kids playing in the sand.
I can't wait to see the pics of the balcony at OKW-- y'all do need to relax and enjoy some time together.:cloud9:
And OKW!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGosh-- I'm excited for you.

Yep, we experienced the miserable sardines thing at F! (and at DHS the entire day) in January. No thanks. :sad2:Never again. The only good part was that we got to spend lots of time with Trixie that day! :goodvibes

Yes Sunday is PM EMH at MK plus Spectro is showing and then F! at DHS. So we will be nowhere near those 2 parks! Hmm. . . :idea:maybe I should consider Epcot that day. . . :confused3

Yes B&C is at the BC and it is mostly sandwiches and desserts! Similar to the Plaza, which we really enjoyed in January. I'm still not set on B&C, I may get an ADR for somewhere else knowing that I can cancel and go to B&C if we feel like it. We'll see. . . it needs to be somewhere new for us though, no more repeats!

You are making me want to go to CBR now!!! :rotfl: I told DS10 the other day that I booked 2 resorts! And to that he said - are either of them CBR? :confused3 That kid's got an obsession! Like some adults here on the DIS!

Thanks for your OKW excitement!! :woohoo:  I am very excited too! But I had a dream the other night that we were checking into OKW and I had no memories of the first 6 days of our trip and POR. I kept saying to DH (in my dream) - we have to go back to POR so I can take pictures for the DIS!

:confused3 :rotfl:

Hmmm... I never considered the difference from the new house in the South Hills to Cranberry. It used to be about 45 minutes from my parents house in Allison Park. Just because it took for-e-v-e-r to get to 79 from there. I guess it would be a lot shorter from here because to get on 79 would only be like a 5 minute drive.....

Well, that makes it even worse.

You can't drive 15 minutes away...? You have to volunteer me to be the Party Planning Committee?

I am trying not to be bitter. I don't even know why I am really. OK! I am officially done complaining. On to more importatnt things....

OKW balcony view.... :cloud9:

*Sigh*.... I miss Disney. I have had a lot of things to distract me lately, so the full on Disney Depression hasn't quite set in yet. But when it does I am sure it will be here with a vengence.

We went to see F! when it was only showing 2 nights in May - but it was pouring down rain for the last half of the day and people really cleared out. We were in a section almost all by ourselves!

We just threw on some ponchos, splashed around and stayed for the show. :goodvibes It wasn't ideal... but I got some cute poncho pictures for my scrapbook. But I'm sure if I had kids with me that would never fly.

Epcot would most likely feel less crowded on Sunday- but only b'c it's a larger park. i think either one of those would be a great choice. You might have a better chance of getting LeCell that night too. As far as the b and Cream- I'd probably at least have as back up ADR somewhere, just in case.
Aww- CBR- I know- it's a nice resort. We had a great time there. I'd def go back.

But you know where my heart lies.:lovestruc Everyone has their favorites--- your son will probably like POR- but will wish for CBR. He might love OKW- and become a deluxe snob, LOL.
Did you request the mansions or AB at POR? AB is closer to the food court- the mansions are on the other side of the lake.

LOl at your dream. We need our pictures.:upsidedow

Jo

I requested Top floor, AB building 18, 26, or 27 at POR http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/port-riverside.htm

And Top floor, building 23, 24, 25, or 26 at OKW http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/okwmap.htm

I didn't do too much research on locations at OKW. But when I was calling back to get my address & phone numbers changed AGAIN I decided I better throw in an OKW request while I had them on the phone!

Us is my trash mag of choice. I find that more of their stuff is confirmed that the other ones.

If Us weekly prints it - I believe it.

:lmao:

Hello Mayers from beautiful, sunny, morning blue skies and nice ocean breezes, Santa Monica!

Okay MAYers...there is so much I wish I had time to comment on...but I don't. :headache:

We're headed for swimming lessons and then camping at the beach for a while. I don't know exactly when I'll be back...could be Sunday...could be Wednesday. Depends on a lot of things.

So have a great week everyone! Don't miss me too much. Heehee.

So this Saturday after my friend's memorial service, my wife and I are leaving immediately and driving up to Solvang to spend the night out of town.

http://www.solvangusa.com/

We need to just getaway - even if it is for a couple of hours.

So that is the plan...

Those are good choices. Did you walk to POR when you were at pOFQ? It's such a pretty resort.

Okay- bachlorette fans-- guess you've heard by now....
http://blogs.suntimes.com/tv/2009/08/the_bachelor_franchise_awww_or.html

I just don't know what to think about Ed.

Sounds true. Gross.

No we didn't walk to POR when we stayed at POFQ. I wish we would have, but we just never made the time. We did ride through on the buses several times.

It is actually the moderate that appeals to me the least. Obviously, it is our last one to try. But hey, maybe I'll like it the most, who knows!

Yeah, heard all the crazy stuff about Ed. :sad2: I don't know what to believe. She was on Extra denying it all the other night. Who knows. The show really is becoming quite disappointing though.
